6-Hydroxydopamine lesion of ventral pallidum blocks acquisition of place preference conditioning to cocaine (Gong 1996)
- The apparatus consists of two main conditioning compartments 35 cm x 25 cm x 35 cm high separated by a neutral compartment (10 cm x 25 cm).
- The neutral compartment should have aluminum sheet flooring and gray walls and was separated from the main compartments by removable guillotine doors.
- One of the main compartments should have black walls and flooring of spaced steel rods
- The other compartment had white walls with metal grid flooring.
