Apparatus and Equipment

Our Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Rodent Tag Scanner is simple to use with multiple tagging options available. We offer either a small glass microchip to be safely embedded under the animal’s skin with minimal handling and stress to the animal or an ear tag to be pierced on the animal’s ear. The tag can then be read with a simple-to-use scanner with a quick response time. Identification is then logged.

Our RFID system can be used alone or in conjunction with our automated home cage system, cage systems, and mazes.

Rodent behavior can further be analysed using a video tracking software package such as Noldus EthoVision, ANY-Maze, or BehaviorCloud.

Applications

  • Group cage and home cage identification
  • Social behavioral analysis
  • Familial identification
  • Strain identification
