When to use

  • Converting between temperature scales for international protocols
  • Interpreting equipment readings in unfamiliar units
  • Preparing reports that require multiple temperature units
  • Quick reference during lab work or field measurements

Do not use for

  • For specialized thermodynamic calculations requiring high precision — use a dedicated physics tool

Celsius and Kelvin have the same increment

A 1°C change equals a 1 K change. Only the zero point differs (0°C = 273.15 K).

Fahrenheit increments are smaller

A 1°F change is only 5/9 of a 1°C change. This means Fahrenheit provides finer granularity without decimals.

1

Method

Standard SI temperature conversion formulas. Celsius is the base unit; Fahrenheit and Kelvin are derived from it.

Temperature Scales in Aquatic Science

Temperature is fundamental to aquaculture and aquatic research. It affects metabolic rate, dissolved oxygen capacity, ammonia toxicity, and disease susceptibility. Accurate temperature conversion between Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin is essential when interpreting international research literature and configuring equipment.
