Segment of preserved timber shoring and wooden cribbing within the Adventure Mine 3rd level in Greenland, MI. This data was collected as part of an archaeolgical research project conducted in summer 2022 by MTU archaeologist Dan Trepal (Senior Geospatial Research Scientist, Great Lakes Research Center, and adjunct Assistant Professor, Social Sciences, MTU), with the assistance of Matt Portfleet (Director Mine Safety Program, Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences, MTU) and MTU undergraduate student / field technician Grace Ojala.
