Plot of the third meristic PCA results (PC I vs. PC III) including only specimens (N=170) belonging to those five genera that overlapped in the second PCA plots of PC I, PC II and PC III (see Fig. 2 and Fig. 3a), i.e. Parananochromis, Nanochromis, Pelvicachromis, Enigmatochromis and Congochromis including C. rotundiceps sp. nov. Species of the five genera overlapping with Congochromis are separately labelled. PC I explains 16.28% and PC III explains 8.40% of the variance in the meristic dataset with 38 meristic values.
