Meridional composite pulses for low-field magnetic resonance

<p>We discuss procedures for error-tolerant spin control in environments that permit transient, large-angle reorientation of magnetic bias field. Short sequences of non-resonant magnetic field pulses in a laboratory-frame meridional plane are derived. These are shown to have band-pass excitation properties comparable to established amplitude-modulated, resonant pulses used in high, static-field magnetic resonance. Using these meridional pulses, we demonstrate robust z inversion in proton (<sup>1</sup>H) nuclear magnetic resonance near Earth&rsquo;s field.</p>

Real-time magnetic resonance imaging to study orthostatic intolerance mechanisms in human beings: Proof of concept

<p>This dataset was acquired&nbsp;at DLR, Cologne, Germany.&nbsp;The study complied with the Declaration of Helsinki, and was approved by the local ethics committee. Virtual cohort of fetal cases with suspected coarctation of the aorta from fetal three-dimensional magnetic resonance images

<p>The present dataset is a supplementary dataset to the paper:&nbsp;Hermida, U., van Poppel, M.P.M., Lloyd, D.F.A.&nbsp;<em>et al.</em>&nbsp;Learning the Hidden Signature of Fetal Arch Anatomy: a Three-Dimensional Shape Analysis in Suspected Coarctation of the Aorta.&nbsp;<em>J. of Cardiovasc. Trans. Res.</em>&nbsp;(2022). https://doi.org/10.1007/s12265-022-10335-9</p> <p><strong>Dataset Description: </strong></p> <p>We present a database of fetal great arch anatomical models derived from a statistical shape model (SSM) of fetuses with suspected coarctation of the aorta (CoA). The dataset consists of 1000 meshes including the fetal ascending aorta, arterial duct and descending aorta. For each synthetic case, the corresponding PCA coefficients for the 10 first PCA modes, as well as their CoA risk score, are shared. PCA scores are provided both as raw scores and Z-scores.&nbsp;</p> <p>To build the SSM, a dataset of 112 motion-corrected 3D fetal cardiovascular magnetic resonance (CMR) images and their corresponding segmentations&nbsp;from cases with suspected CoA was used. Data included confirmed CoA cases as well as false positive (FP) cases. Beyond the exponential horn: a bush-cricket with ear-canals which function as coupled resonators

<p>Bush-crickets have dual-input, tympanal ears located in the tibia of their forelegs. The sound will, first of all, reach the external sides of the tympana, before arriving to the internal sides through the bush-cricket ear-canal, the acoustic trachea (AT), with a phase lapse and pressure gain. It has been shown that for many bush-crickets, the AT has an exponential horn-shaped morphology and function, producing a significant pressure gain above a certain cut-off frequency. However, the underlying mechanism of different AT designs remains elusive. In this study, we demonstrate that the AT of the duetting bush-cricket <em>Pterodichopetala</em> <em>cieloi</em> function as coupled resonators, producing sound pressure gains at the sex-specific conspecific calling song frequency, and attenuating the remainder – a functioning mechanism significantly different than an exponential horn. Furthermore, it is demonstrated that despite the sexual dimorphism between the <em>P</em>. <em>cieloi</em> AT, both male and female AT have a similar biophysical mechanism. The analysis was carried out using an interdisciplinary approach, where micro-computed tomography was used for the morphological properties of the <em>P</em>. <em>cieloi</em> AT, and a finite-element analysis was applied on the precise tracheal geometry to further justify the experimental results and to go beyond experimental limitations.</p>

Water Solvent Reorganization upon Ultrafast Resonant Stimulated X‑ray Raman Excitation of a Metalloporphyrin Dimer

<p><strong>Abstract</strong></p> <p>We propose an X-ray Raman pump - X-ray diffraction probe scheme to follow solvation dynamics upon charge migration in a solute molecule.&nbsp;The X-ray Raman pump selectively prepares a valence electronic wavepacket in the solute, while the probe provides information on the entire molecular ensemble.&nbsp;A combination of Molecular Dynamics (MD) and <em>ab initio</em> quantum chemistry simulations is applied to a Zn-Ni porphyrin dimer in water.&nbsp;Using time-resolved X-ray diffraction and pair distribution functions, solvation shell dynamics are extracted.</p> <p><strong>Datasets for the plots</strong></p> <p>data_rdf: Contains RDF data in netcdf4 (readable by xarray) and averaged CSV files.</p> <p>data_sfac: Contains scattering data in netcdf4 (readable by xarray) and averaged CSV files.</p> <p>data_ener: Contains CP2K energy file data for all reference and production runs.</p> <p>data_cdf: Contains csv data files for cumulative distribution function.</p> <p>data_sdf: Contains the cubes files for spatial distribution function.</p> <p>python_codes: Contains python code snippets for recreating figures from the above datasets.</p>

Dataset for Non-resonant Anomaly Detection with Background Extrapolation

<p>These are the datasets used in the journal version of the Non-resonant Anomaly Detection with Background Extrapolation paper. The datasets are simulated using MadGraph5 aMC@NLO, Pythia 8.310, and Delphes. There are 0.2M signal events of semi-visible jets in five sets of parameters (invisible-ratio, Z' mass) = { (1/3, 4 TeV), (1/3, 2 TeV), (1/3, 3 TeV), (0, 4 TeV), (2/3, 4 TeV) }, 18.6M background events of SM QCD jets (including background, ideal AD background, and simulated background) for training, and 21.4M background events for testing. The detailed breakdown of number of events after selections in different regions is listed in Table1 of the paper. The input parameter cards used for generating background and signal events are also included.</p>
