Bude Compass Point ("Pepperpot")
Taken with Mavic 2 pro and processed with Pix4D. The tower is iconic on the hedaland at Bude near Summerleaze beach. IT is said to have been built as refuge for coast guards. However, the more likely reason for its construction was for for its ornamental value. Designed by George Wightwick for Sir Thomas Acland, the octagonal tower was based, loosely, on the Temple of the Winds in Athens. Now it is at risk because of coastal erosion. The Next Wave: An Ethical Compass For AI-Based Software Development
<p>Ethical principles are fundamental for the long-term sustainable growth of AI/ML; however, recent research highlights that many projects have yet to full integrate these guidelines. This research work aims to assess the current rate of adoption of ethical principles in AI/ML within the software development space. We collected 96,254 pull requests from 28 AI/ML GitHub projects and randomly selected 400 pull requests for manual labeling based on the seven EU ethical guidelines. To address the challenge of scalability and consistency in manual labeling, we investigated the use of a zero-shot large language model (LLM), OpenAI’s GPT-4o. This<br>LLM was leveraged to automatically detect ethical AI principles in our sample of pull requests. Our findings demonstrate that GPT-4o has the potential to support ethical compliance in software development. Looking ahead, we envision automating the scanning of code changes for ethical concerns, similar to vulnerability detection models. This tool would flag high-risk pull requests for ethical review, aiding AI risk assessment in open-source projects and supporting the automatic generation of an AI Bill of Materials (AI BOM).</p>

A model of the M-1938 Compass, Lensatic; the primary method of land navigation used by American forces during ground operations in World War 2. Reference images were taken from [this thread](https://www.warrelics.eu/forum/equipment-field-gear/m-1938-lensatic-compass-us-army-corp-engineers-superior-magneto-corp-709743/) at the WarRelics forum. This is my first complete model after following a number of tutorials, so I am sure there are improvements to be made, especially with texturing, any suggestions for improvement are wholeheartedly welcome. P8 Spitfire Compass
Hi poly model of compass used in spitfires during WW2. Radioactive paint was originally used for compasses to be used at night. Model measured from an original I have using calipers.
