<p>This dataset encompasses detailed records of shark attack incidents in New Caledonia from 1980 to 2022. It is designed to support a multi-criteria analysis of these incidents, providing insights into the conditions and characteristics surrounding each event.</p> <p><strong>Attributes : </strong></p> <p>1. N: Sequential number of the incident.<br>2. DATE: Date of the shark attack (YYYY-MM-DD format).<br>3. YEAR: Year of the incident.<br>4. MONTH: Month of the incident.<br>5. DAY: Day of the week when the incident occurred.<br>6. HOUR: Time of the incident (24-hour format).<br>7. HOURTYPO: Time range category (e.g., 13-15 for 1 PM to 3 PM).<br>8. SEASON: Season during which the attack occurred (Summer, Winter, etc.).<br>9. WEEKEND: Indicates whether the incident occurred on a weekend (Weekend or Week).<br>10. MORNING: Time of day (Morning, Afternoon, etc.).<br>11. ZONE: Specific zone or region within the site (e.g., Noumea, East, Loyalty).<br>12. WIND: Windward or leeward side.<br>13. <p>This dataset contains eDNA MOTUs for 192 water samples collected in seamounts, continental slopes and coral reefs of New-Caledonia in 2019 and 2020. The data were collected under permits to Laurent Vigliola by the Government of New-Caledonia (permit N° 2019-733/GNC, 2020-503/GNC and 2020-1077/GNC), the Southern Province of New Caledonia (permit N° 898-2019/ARR/DENV, 3066-2019/ARR/DENV, 844-2020/ARR/DDDT and 1955-2020/ARR/DDDT) and the Northern Province of New Caledonia (permit N° 609011/2019/DEPART/JJC , 609011-18/2019/DEPART/JJC and 609011-39/2020/DEPART/JJC). Collection was performed during the SEAMOUNTS and REEF3.0 projects led by Laurent Vigliola. The data contains the outputs of the bioinformatic process as described in Baletaud et al. 2023. The metadata contains information on the sampling filters, sampling locations and associated environmental variables.</p>

<p>This dataset contains BRUVS (Baited Remote Underwater Video Station) data for 224 video stations collected in seamounts, continental slopes and coral reefs of New-Caledonia in 2019 and 2020. The data were collected under permits to Laurent Vigliola by the Government of New-Caledonia (permit N° 2019-733/GNC, 2020-503/GNC and 2020-1077/GNC), the Southern Province of New Caledonia (permit N° 898-2019/ARR/DENV, 3066-2019/ARR/DENV, 844-2020/ARR/DDDT and 1955-2020/ARR/DDDT) and the Northern Province of New Caledonia (permit N° 609011/2019/DEPART/JJC , 609011-18/2019/DEPART/JJC and 609011-39/2020/DEPART/JJC). <p>This dataset contains raw genetic sequence data from 344 Carcharhinus amblyrhynchos (grey reef shark) individuals collected in the New Caledonian Archipelago between July 2015 and November 2016. The data were collected under permits to Laurent Vigliola by the Government of New Caledonia (permit #2015-1351/GNC), the Northern Province of New Caledonia (permit #60912-1508-2015/JJC) and the Southern Province of New Caledonia (permits #479-2016/ARR/DENV and #2093-2016/ARR/DENV). It was used and processed during the PhD of Germain Boussarie. Collection was performed during the APEX project led by Laurent Vigliola. The metadata contains fish identification number, sampling site, latitude and longitude. Additional information (date, fish length, maturity, sex, acoustic tag number) are also given.
