PAPILA: High resolution inventory of atmospheric emissions in Latin America.
<p><strong>Brief description</strong></p> <p>PAPILA dataset is a collection of annual emission inventories of reactive gases (CO, NMVOC, SO2, NH3, NOx), Greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4), and particles (PM25, PM10, BC, OC) from anthropogenic sources in South America, for the period 2014–2020. Here is presented PAPILA version 2.0, The first version of this inventory is available <a href="https://data.mendeley.com/datasets/btf2mz4fhf/3">here.</a></p> <p>PAPILA is the first AEI from anthropogenic sources covering the continental SA region, which combines local available information with a global database in a proper and rigorous way. For this purpose, global datasets were used as a basis, enriching it with locally developed inventories available in the literature until 2023 for Argentina, Chile, Colombia, Mexico and Ecuador.</p> <p>The Dataset consider emissions from 13 sectors which are organized and denominated inspired mostly on the nomenclature given by CAMS: thermal power plants (ENE); road transportation (TRO); non-road transportation (TNR); fugitive emissions (FEF); industries, including fuel consumption in manufacturing industries and construction industrial processes, (IND); solvents (SLV); refineries (REF); agricultural soils (AGS); agricultural livestock (AGL); domestic and international navigation (SHP); solid waste disposal (including solid waste, wastewater, and incineration) (SWD); open biomass burning (OBB); residential , commercial and other sectors (RCO)</p> <p>To consult the main methodological considerations , review the methodological document available for download</p> <p>This inventory should contribute to the design of policies that seek to mitigate climate change and improve air quality by providing policy makers, stakeholders and scientists with qualified scientific spatial explicit emission information</p> <p><strong>Metadata</strong></p> <p>The inventories are presented as netCDF4 files, one for each year and specie, gridded in WGS84 projection (lon-lat) with a spatial resolution of 0.1∘ × 0.1∘ covering the domain 32–120∘ W and 34∘ N–58∘ S.</p> <p>Each file contains 14 variables corresponding to the emissions in Tg yr−1 from the13 sectors estimated and the sum of all categories (SUM)</p>

<h2><strong>Overview</strong></h2> <p>The Latin Lexicon Dataset contains information about Latin words collected through webscraping from Wiktionary. The dataset includes various linguistic features such as part of speech, lemma, aspect, tense, verb form, voice, mood, number, person, case, and gender. Additionally, it provides source URLs and links to the Wiktionary pages for further reference. The dataset aims to contribute to linguistic research and analysis of Latin language elements.</p> <h3><strong>Versions of the Dataset</strong></h3> <p>This dataset is available in three versions, each offering varying levels of refinement:</p> <ul> <li><strong>wiki_latin_data_v1.csv(v1):</strong> The initial raw version, containing all webscraped data without extensive cleaning or filtering.</li> <li><strong>wiki_latin_data_v2.csv(v2):</strong> A more processed version, where some inconsistencies and duplicates were removed, and linguistic features were better aligned.</li> <li><strong><strong>wiki_latin_data_v3.csv (v3)</strong>:</strong> The most refined version, offering a clean, well-organized dataset with comprehensive linguistic features and translation equivalents with minimal errors. Physical, psychological, academic, and sexual abuse of university students in five Latin American countries: characteristics and association with student satisfaction
<p><strong>Background:</strong> A high rate of student abuse has been reported in various studies. This study aimed to characterize the abuse of university students in five Latin American countries and its association with student satisfaction.</p> <p><strong>Methods:</strong> An analytical transversal study was conducted, in which 2,141 undergraduate students from Paraguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and Panama were surveyed. A validated questionnaire was applied to evaluate four types of abuse (Cronbach's Alpha: 0.90): psychological, physical, academic, and sexual. In addition, students’ perception of satisfaction of four items in the university environment (Cronbach's Alpha: 0.85) was also analyzed.</p> <p><strong>Results:</strong> It was found that the older students were, the more dissatisfied they were with “logistics” (aPR: 1.02; 95% CI: 1.00-1.04; p-value; 0.014) and the top-third segment of those who perceived “sexual abuse” were more dissatisfied with the teaching provided by their universities (aPR: 1.23; 95% CI: 1.00-1.52; p-value: 0.048). Moreover, those who were most dissatisfied with the agreements were part of the top-third segment of those who perceived sexual abuse (aPR: 1.16; 95% CI: 1.03-1.32; p-value: 0.016) and those in the country of Panama were less dissatisfied with “agreements” (RPa: 0.70; 95% CI: 0.66-0.073; p-value<0.001). The countries of Colombia (aPR: 0.08; IC95%: 0.01-0.59; p-value: 0.014) and Panama (aPR: 0.57; 95% CI: 0.52-0.64; p-value<0.001) were less dissatisfied with investigation programs.</p> <p><strong>Conclusions: </strong>The perception of ‘sexual abuse’ was related with dissatisfaction with teaching and agreements.</p>

Until July 1st 2017, the lexical data extracted from Wiktionary was modeled using the lemon vocabulary.</p> <p>This dataset contains the full archive of all DBnary dumps in Lemon format containing lexical information from Latin language edition, ranging from 6th June 2015 to 1st July 2017.</p> <p>After July 2017, DBnary data has been modeled using the ontolex model and will be available in another Zenodo entry.</p>

Day #5 of my Everyday a Scan series! This week, I'll be concentrating on the many different districts of San Fransisco, CA. This incredible house was captured in the Mission district of San Francisco, at the intersection of York St. and 25th. This entire neighborhood is filled with Murals left and right. Some on people's garage doors, some on the entire side of the building, and in this case, the entire house. This mural was done by a group called Precita Eyes Muralists, directed by Max Marttila and Fred Alvarado in collaboration with the Urban Youth Arts Program. Data from: First Latin American clinical practice guidelines for the treatment of systemic lupus erythematosus: Latin American Group for the Study of Lupus (GLADEL, Grupo Latino Americano de Estudio del Lupus)–Pan-American League of Associations of Rheumatology (PANLAR)
Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE), a complex and heterogeneous autoimmune disease, represents a significant challenge for both diagnosis and treatment. Patients with SLE in Latin America face special problems that should be considered when therapeutic guidelines are developed. The objective of the study is to develop clinical practice guidelines for Latin American patients with lupus. Two independent teams (rheumatologists with experience in lupus management and methodologists) had an initial meeting in Panama City, Panama, in April 2016. They selected a list of questions for the clinical problems most commonly seen in Latin American patients with SLE. These were addressed with the best available evidence and summarised in a standardised format following the Grading of Recommendations Assessment, Development and Evaluation approach. All preliminary findings were discussed in a second face-to-face meeting in Washington, DC, in November 2016. As a result, nine organ/system sections are presented with the main findings; an 'overarching' treatment approach was added. Special emphasis was made on regional implementation issues. Best pharmacologic options were examined for musculoskeletal, mucocutaneous, kidney, cardiac, pulmonary, neuropsychiatric, haematological manifestations and the antiphospholipid syndrome. The roles of main therapeutic options (ie, glucocorticoids, antimalarials, immunosuppressant agents, therapeutic plasma exchange, belimumab, rituximab, abatacept, low-dose aspirin and anticoagulants) were summarised in each section. In all cases, benefits and harms, certainty of the evidence, values and preferences, feasibility, acceptability and equity issues were considered to produce a recommendation with special focus on ethnic and socioeconomic aspects. Guidelines for Latin American patients with lupus have been developed and could be used in similar settings.

Canmore 53078 53078NGR: NT 34805 27441 Just over 1.5m high the standing stone bears an important six line Latin inscription, fairly roughly carved and in parts badly weathered. The letters are mainly Roman capitals, irregular and sprawling; the words are badly set out and carelessly written! Certain letters, however, provide parallels with stones elsewhere, notably in Wales and Cornwall, and help date it to the early 6th century. A brief translation would run: ''This (is) the everlasting memorial In (this) place (lie) the most famous princes Nudus and Dumnogenus In this tomb lie the two sons of Liberalis". VBHC in Latin America: A survey of 70 healthcare provider organizations
<p><span><b>Objectives</b></span></p> <p><span>Value-based Health Care (VBHC) is a health system reform gradually being implemented in health systems worldwide. A previous national-level survey has shown that Latin American countries were in the early stages of alignment with VBHC. Data at the healthcare providers level are lacking. This study aim was to investigate how healthcare providers in five Latin American countries are implementing the Value Agenda.</span></p> <p><span><b>Design</b></span></p> <p><span>Mixed-methods research was conducted using online questionnaire, semi-structured interviews (from December of 2018 to June of 2020), and analyses of aggregated data and documents. Statistical analysis was performed using Fisher's exact test. Univariate analysis was used to compare organizations in relation to the implementation of VBHC initiatives. P value ≤0.05 was considered significant.</span></p> <p><span><b>Participants </b></span></p> <p><span>Top and middle-level executives from 70 healthcare provider organizations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia and Mexico. </span></p> <p><span><b>Results </b></span></p> <p><span>From a total<b> </b>of 172 initiatives referred by 55 participants, 58 referred by 33 participants were aligned with the value agenda and focused on care delivery organization (56.9%), outcomes measurement (22.4%), cost measurement (10.3%) and bundled payments (10.3%). Although fee-for-service predominated, one third of providers were experimenting with alternative payment models. Univariate analysis showed that specialty hospitals (p=0.05), a high level of alignment with care delivery organization (p<0,01) and outcomes measurement (p=0.01), implementation of ICHOM standard sets (p<0.01), and participation in alternative payment models were associated with VBHC implementation (p=0.01). </span></p> <p><span><b>Conclusions</b><b> </b></span></p> <p><span>A wide variation in the level of implementation of the value agenda existed across participating providers. A list of initiatives was produced that may provide insights for different stakeholders. Scalability of such initiatives will demand investments on education of stakeholders and on systematic measurement and use of outcomes and cost data. Further research is needed to identify successful implementation cases that may serve as regional benchmark for other Latin American providers advancing with VBHC. </span></p>

Hand decorated brass claps were another distinctive feature of Spierinck's bindings, and remnants of the clasps are still extant on the back cover. Spierinck and fellow binder Godfrey were established as the two principal stationers in Cambridge by 1520, and together with Nicholson became the first official University Printers and Stationers at Cambridge in 1534. According to the vendor, Douglas Stewart, this volume represents one of the finest examples known of a Spierinck binding, and is the only known Spierinck binding in Australia.
