Medieval Burial, Calatrava La Nueva (Spain)

Medieval burial located in the impressive Fortress of Calatrava La Nueva in Aldea del Rey (Ciudad Real, Spain). The castle/convent of Calatrava La Nueva was built in the 13th century to serve as the seat of the powerful Order of Calatrava and today it is one of the most important castles in Spain. Inside, during excavations, 5 burials were found, presumably belonging to Christian knights of the Order of Calatrava. They were buried in the so-called Chapter House (Sala Capitular). This skeleton is still preserved in situ, inside the room. For conservation reasons, the Chapter House is currently closed to the public, although the rest of the castle is open to visitors. Thank you Castilla-La Mancha regional government, Aldea del Rey City Council and the archaeologist Ana Segovia Fernández, for the facilities they have given us and for the interest in the project. 3D model made using 84 images processed in Reality Caputure. Additional processing completed in Geomagic Wrap, Meshlab, and Blender. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Wmid-54f85d - Post Medieval Spoon

An incomplete lead or tin alloy (pewter) spoon of Post Medieval to Modern dating (c. AD 1750 - c. AD 1900). Approximately 40% of the spoon remains consisting of part of the bowl and part of the handle. Around 25% of the bowl is present and the angles at the shoulder are suggestive of a fig shaped bowl. No maker's mark appears to be present. The bowl appears to have been flattened, probably as a result of time within the plough soil. There are incised scratches on the surface of the bowl however it is unclear whether this is decoration or post depositional damage. The handle consists of a flattened D shape, with flat surfaces to the front and reverse, with bevelled edges. Medieval Latrine (Alhama de Murcia, Spain)

Example of an Islamic medieval latrine preserved in Alhama de Murcia (Murcia, Spain). The medieval cities of Al-Andalus developed extensive regulations aimed at improving hygiene and thus preventing disease. Little by little, the existence of latrines inside the Islamic houses became general, something very rare in Christian medieval Europe. Islamic fortresses also had latrines. These latrines dumped the waste into the sewerage network, into blind wells, or directly outside the walls. 3D model was made in Reality Capture software using 135 images; additional processing was completed in Geomagic Wrap, Meshlab, and Blender Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Chained (medieval) library book

This is a model of a medieval book as it would have looked on the shelf of a 'chained library'. The aim was for the books to be used only for reference and not removed.
