Physical oceanography, biotic and abiotic carbon data in the deep sea on the northern slope of the South China Sea in June 2015
<p>The datasets are used for the study of the effects of mesoscale eddies on biological carbon pumps in deep sea water in the northern South China Sea. Thus the physical oceanography, biotic and abiotic carbon data are included in the datasets.</p>
Ocean Bottom Seismometer data of line OBS2017-2 in the South China Sea
<p>Dataset line OBS2017-2 was collected in June 2017, using R/V “Shiyan 2” that belongs to the South China Sea Institute of Oceanology, CAS. The spacing of OBSs was ~9.6 km. The seismic source consisted of an array of four BOLT air-guns with a total volume of 6,000 cubic inches and was towed at ~10 m depth below sea level. 1,767 shots had been fired along OBS2017-2 from south to north, and the shooting intervals were set at 80-110 s with a nominal ship speed of ~4.5 knots, resulting in a shooting interval of ~200 m on average.</p> <p>The format of seismic data is SAC. Data from: Holocene Sediment Provenance Evolution in the Northern South China Sea Inferred from Detrital Zircon Geochronology
<p>The supporting information here provides the AMS <sup>14</sup>C geochronological data of core sediments (Table S1) and LA-ICP-SF-MS U-Pb results of detrital zircon grains (Table S2) within this study.</p>
Forest types in South China
<p>We used the annual (2002-2017) forest probability maps from Tong et al (2020) which were also derived from MODIS data. A probability threshold of 0.5 was used to define if an area is a forest or not (Tong et al., 2020). We identified three types of forests (Fig.1): (1) old forests (always forest during 2002-2017), (2) new forests (no forest in 2002 but in 2017), and potential forests (never forested during 2002-2017).</p>

Raw time series of GNSS sites used in the manuscript 'South China plate motion modified by 2008 Mw7.9 great Wenchuan earthquake'
<p>The *.pre.*.pos files are raw position time series before the Wenchuan earthquake (from July 2001 to December 2004) and the *.aft.*.pos files are the raw postition time sereis after the Wenchuan earthquake (from July 2014 to December 2017). The file 'breaks' contains the epoches of breaks due to equipment changes or that are indentified visually.</p>
