FIGURE 6. Phylogram obtained using maximum likelihood for the Ipomoeeae tribe, characterized by the presence of spiny pollen. The phylogram was obtained using five molecular markers (atpB, psbE-J, rbcL, trnL-F and ITS), and the search for the tree was performed with 1,000 bootstrap replicates. The arrow indicates the position of the new species Ipomoea kahloiae within the clade Astripomoeinae. Some members of the tribe "Merremieae" were used as the outgroup.
