Maximum Likelihood estimation of the relationships based on the mitochondrial COI barcode region (Tamura 3- parameter model, discrete Gamma distribution for rate differences with 5 categories +G parameter = 0.4706 and invariable site proportion +I = 58.22%). Nucleotide positions with less than 100 % site coverage were eliminated resulting in 562 analysed positions. The tree is drawn to scale, with branch lengths measured in number of substitutions per site. Numbers of nodes indicate bootstrap values from 1000 pseudoreplicates and low values have deliberately been included to demonstrate the lack of evolutionary signal to resolve the relationships between supra-specific taxa.
