A novel approach to low-cost, rapid and simultaneous colorimetric detection of multiple analytes using 3D printed microfluidic channels
<p>This research paper presents an inventive technique to swiftly create microfluidic channels on distinct membrane papers, enabling colorimetric drug detection. Using a modified DIY RepRap 3D printer with a syringe pump, microfluidic channels (µPADs) are crafted on a flexible nylon-based substrate. This allows simultaneous detection of four common drugs with a single reagent. An optimized blend of Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) dissolved in hexane is used to create hydrophobic channels on various filter papers. The PDMS-hexane mixture infiltrates the paper's pores, forming hydrophobic barriers that confine liquids within the channels. These barriers are cured on the printer's hot plate, controlling channel width and preventing spreading. Capillary action drives fluid along these paths without spreading. This novel approach provides a versatile solution for rapid microfluidic channel creation on membrane papers. The DIY RepRap 3D printer integration offers precise control and faster curing. The PDMS-hexane solution accurately forms hydrophobic barriers, containing liquids within desired channels. The resulting microfluidic system holds potential for portable, cost-effective drug detection and various sensing applications.</p>
Research data for: Direct DLP-based 3D-printing of metallopolymers featuring shape-memory abilities
<p><span>This study presents for the first time the direct digital light processing (DLP) based three-dimensional (3D) printing of metallopolymers featuring different kinds of metal complexes. 2-Phenoxyethyl acrylate and ligand-containing monomers based on terpyridine, and triphenylmethyl(trt)‑histidine are utilized. After successful complexation of zinc(II) and nickel(II) salts, respectively, within the monomer mixture the polymerization <em>via</em> photo-induced printing is performed. The hereby obtained smart materials can be printed in any form ranging from simple rectangular rods to complex hollow structures. Inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES) and Fourier-transform (FT) Raman spectroscopy reveal the successful imbedding and implementation into the polymeric structure. Additionally, an imaging across the 3D-printed structure could be performed indicating the equal distribution of the complexes in the structure. Furthermore, the 3D-printed specimens feature excellent shape-memory behavior. Thermo-mechanical analysis (TMA) reveals fixity rates after mechanical deformation up to 100% and recovery rates up to 99%.</span></p> <p><span> </span></p>

<p>The root data directory consists of two subdirectories, called <em>sequences</em> and <em>yolo</em>. The former contains all the individual sequences that were collected, further organized into subdirectories based on whether they have stringing or not. Each of these subdirectories contains images captured by the camera and the microscope. All-Inkjet-Printed Humidity Sensors for the Detection of Relative Humidity in Air and Soil—Towards the Direct Fabrication on Plant Leaves
<p>We demonstrate the fabrication, by exclusive means of inkjet-printing, of capacitive relative humidity sensors on flexible, plastic substrate. These sensors can be successfully used for the measurement of relative-humidity in both air and common soil. We also show that the same technique may be used for the fabrication of the same type of sensors on the surface of the leaves of Elægnus Ebbingei (silverberry).Our results demonstrate the suitability of leaves as substrate for printed electronics and pave the way to the next generation of sensors to be used in fields such as agriculture and flower farming.</p>

<p>Open access dataset containing objects images to be used in training computer vision systems for hand gestures recognition. There are 4 zip files with 6900 images for tripod pinch, 8345 images for palmar grasp with neutral wrist position, 8280 images for palmar grasp with pronated wrist, and 2188 images for key grasp pattern. These are images from the Newcastle Grasp Library (NGL) and the Amsterdam Object Image Library (ALOI). There are other 3 zip files with musical and computer keyboards and tablets images.</p> <p> </p>
Data from: Identification and protection of puce unlined clothing with printed gold and color-painted lace
<p><span>A large number of Southern Song Dynasty costumes were unearthed from Huangsheng Tomb in Fuzhou city, Fujian Province. The unlined clothing was among funeral objects, and was made of the most common leno fabric, which was light and transparent, and the clothing was in extremely poor condition. To protect the unlined clothing, scientific evaluation and protection were carried out. Three-dimensional microscopy was used to analyze the weave structure and X-ray fluorescence spectroscopy (XRF) and indirect enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (iELISA) were used to scientifically analyze the printed gold and color paint components of the unlined clothing. The results showed that the structure of the unlined clothing was a two-warp twisted leno, the printed gold contained Au, Cu, Fe and other elements, the colored paint contained Pb and Hg elements, and the binding material component of the colored paint was type I collagen. Based on the results of the analysis, the silk fibroin consolidation method was used to improve resistance to the stress and strain caused by the needle-thread repair method, and the </span><span>needle-thread repair method</span><span> was then used to restore the original clothing shape. This study provides a new approach for the protection of fragile silk fabrics in the future.</span></p>

Banknote Authentication based on Intaglio print
<p>The dataset comprises six image sections of one genuine and two counterfeit banknote-like specimens. The images were captured at 1200dpi and the sections are each 256x256 pixels in size. The genuine banknote specimen was produced with Intaglio printing and the counterfeits with offset printing processes of varying quality. There are 150 instances for each of the six image sections, with 50 samples of each of the three classes available, so in total almost 900 images are provided.</p> <p>When using this dataset under the CC BY 4.0 license, cite the following publication:</p> <p>J.
