Sevilleta site, station Valencia County, NM (FIPS 35061), study of population (urban) in units of number on a yearly timescale

The EcoTrends project was established in 2004 by Dr. Debra Peters (Jornada Basin LTER, USDA-ARS Jornada Experimental Range) and Dr. Ariel Lugo (Luquillo LTER, USDA-FS Luquillo Experimental Forest) to support the collection and analysis of long-term ecological datasets. The project is a large synthesis effort focused on improving the accessibility and use of long-term data. At present, there are ~50 state and federally funded research sites that are participating and contributing to the EcoTrends project, including all 26 Long-Term Ecological Research (LTER) sites and sites funded by the USDA Agriculture Research Service (ARS), USDA Forest Service, US Department of Energy, US Geological Survey (USGS) and numerous universities. Data from the EcoTrends project are available through an exploratory web portal (http://www.ecotrends.info). This web portal enables the continuation of data compilation and accessibility by users through an interactive web application. Ongoing data compilation is updated through both manual and automatic processing as part of the LTER Provenance Aware Synthesis Tracking Architecture (PASTA). The web portal is a collaboration between the Jornada LTER and the LTER Network Office. The following dataset from Sevilleta (SEV) contains population (urban) measurements in number units and were aggregated to a yearly timescale.

This is a civil engineering work built between 1796 and 1801, the product of a project to build the first road over the river Xúquer during the reign of Carlos III. This initiative, which was unfinished in 1801, formed part of the infrastructures of the new Camino Real from Madrid to Valencia after the Royal Decree 1761. --- Se trata de una obra de ingeniería civil construida entre 1796 y 1801, producto de un proyecto para construir la primera carretera sobre el río Xúquer durante el reinado de Carlos III. Esta iniciativa, que quedó inacabada en 1801, formaba parte de las infraestructuras del nuevo Camino Real de Madrid a Valencia tras la Cédula Real de 1761. --- Es tracta d'una obra d'enginyeria civil construïda entre 1796 i 1801, producte d'un projecte per a construir la primera carretera sobre el riu Xúquer durant el regnat de Carles III. Torre de Alfarp, Ribera Alta, Valencia

La Torre de Alfarp es una construcción almohade del siglo XII, edificada sobre restos romanos. Su finalidad era la protección a la población de las incursiones cristianas a la alquería rural, que se refugiaban en ella en caso de peligro, y salvaguardaban el ganado en un recinto adosado a la torre denominado albacar. Además, las torres de la Ribera Alta se comunicaban con señales de humo entre ellas formando así un cordón defensivo. Con la conquista cristiana La torre quedó integrada en casa señorial. A lo largo de los siglos la torre árabe ha sido y es un símbolo para la población, marcando su identidad y paisaje, tal y como se refleja en el escudo de Alfarp. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

CityCLIM 2024 Valencia Airborne Campaign Preliminary Data

<p>CityCLIM brings together and operationalizes climate-related data from real and simulated data sources in the form of in-situ and spaceborne data on one hand and simulated weather model outputs on the other. These data sources fuel the services developed in the scope of the project. However, while spaceborne and weather model data provide comprehensive and up-to-date lay-ers, they lack in resolution to account for finer urban features. In-situ data are timelier and are collected specifically in selected locations of significance for daily life, feeding also into weather modelling to ensure that solutions cannot diverge from observations. Yet, they are not spatially resolved.</p> <p>Airborne data bridges this by providing land surface temperature (LST) readings at variable res-olutions significantly below spaceborne data. As airborne data can be collected only for specific points in time, it is not intended for operational use during the project. However, there are numer-ous unique uses to this data source. First, it can aid verification and validation of LST readings by other data sources or by algorithmic super-resolution. Second, future commercial and institutional satellite missions provide improved resolutions, allowing the use of airborne data to mimic them as of now unavailable data products and enables devising usecases that are not feasible with current spaceborne resolutions.</p> <p>The data provided here are preliminary airborne raw data (after calibration) and derived quantities collected as part of the CityCLIM airborne campaign conducted in Valencia on 10.09.2024 and 11.09.2024.</p> <p>For selected locations, the following files are provided:</p> <table> <tbody> <tr> <td><strong>File</strong></td> <td><strong>Description</strong></td> </tr> <tr> <td><strong>089_L1rad.tiff</strong></td> <td>At-sensor radiance in the 8.9 &micro;m band (500 nm bandwidth). <h1>(Memorias) Diplomado: Incidencia y planeaci&oacute;n territorial para el buen vivir en contextos urbano - rurales.</h1> <p>KAVILANDO CREADO: 11 JUNIO 2023</p> <div> <blockquote> <p>Por: REDIPAZ, KAVILANDO, USBMed.</p> <p>Desde noviembre de 2022 desarrollamos un proceso formativo modalidad de Diplomado con el fin de aportar en el fortalecimiento organizativo por la defensa del Derecho a la Ciudad en Medell&iacute;n. Hicimos &eacute;nfasis en la Planeaci&oacute;n Urbana, en esta oportunidad. En mayo de 2023 cerramos este proceso. Ac&aacute; algunos insumos a modo de Memorias.</p> </blockquote> <p>Medell&iacute;n y su &aacute;rea metropolitana, se caracteriza una crisis humanitaria por el no tr&aacute;mite, por parte del establecimiento gubernamental nacional y local, de los reclamos y descontentos, fruto de los conflictos sociales y pol&iacute;ticos en alta tensi&oacute;n territorial. Tales situaciones de orden social necesariamente permean la realidad cotidiana que pone en riesgo la integridad y las garant&iacute;as sociales de las personas. Se suma a esto, la imposici&oacute;n de modelos de desarrollo expulsor que ha generado victimizaci&oacute;n en las comunidades, golpeando dignidad, a partir de la constante sensaci&oacute;n de injusticia y desconfianza frente a la institucionalidad, que crece y ha estallado en contundentes manifestaciones de indignaci&oacute;n social.</p> <p>Considerando que la formaci&oacute;n pol&iacute;tica para la participaci&oacute;n en contextos de una paz participativa y transformadora se constituye en un eje central dentro de las condiciones sociales, en la expectativa de pensar alternativas y generar propuestas a las circunstancias del contexto social presente, se propone el diplomado en: &ldquo;&ldquo;Incidencia y planeaci&oacute;n territorial para el buen vivir en contextos urbano-rurales &rdquo;, en perspectiva de reconocimiento, concientizaci&oacute;n y construcci&oacute;n de propuestas de cambio y transformaci&oacute;n social y como espacio de consolidaci&oacute;n de valores que conduzcan a una cohesi&oacute;n social y a la elaboraci&oacute;n conjunta de planes de vida comunitaria y proyectos con &eacute;nfasis territorial para el bien de todos y todas.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>Hay un valor agregado que dejar&aacute; el Diplomado y ser&aacute; el reconocimiento hist&oacute;rico realizado a partir del m&eacute;todo de transformaci&oacute;n social de la investigaci&oacute;n acci&oacute;n participante que posibilitar&aacute; la recuperaci&oacute;n de la conciencia hist&oacute;rica, como sujetos org&aacute;nicos, producci&oacute;n sumamente valiosa que puede ser publicada digitalmente o en formato impreso, al igual que dar&aacute; una agenda de acci&oacute;n para la construcci&oacute;n de nuevas iniciativas desde las comunidades.</p> <p>Para los grupos articulados a REDIPAZ el diplomado se justifica desde su principio de considerar indispensable el estudio y la b&uacute;squeda de propuestas de soluci&oacute;n a las problem&aacute;ticas de la sociedad, con miras a la promoci&oacute;n integral de los derechos humanos.</p> <p>Por esta raz&oacute;n generamos en la modalidad de diplomado, un espacio de reflexi&oacute;n e intercambio entre liderazgos sociales y comunidades acad&eacute;micas de Medell&iacute;n y el Valle de Aburr&aacute;, que posibilit&oacute; la construcci&oacute;n y apropiaci&oacute;n de conocimientos, herramientas y competencias relacionados con el territorio, la participaci&oacute;n pol&iacute;tica, la exigibilidad, los planes de vida individual y colectivos, el dise&ntilde;o institucional, las rutas dadas de transformaci&oacute;n social y pol&iacute;tica, la memoria hist&oacute;rica y la Paz Transformadora; orientado a fortalecer la reconstrucci&oacute;n del tejido social y al fomento de los principios, derechos y deberes consagrados en la Constituci&oacute;n, en el marco una Pol&iacute;tica del cuidado, la defensa de la vida y del territorio.</p> <p><strong>Tema: Plan de Ordenamiento Territorial y participaci&oacute;n comunitaria.
