SPECTRAL PROPERTIES OF QUASARS FROM SLOAN DIGITAL SKY SURVEY DATA RELEASE 14: THE CATALOG

We present measurements of the spectral properties for a total of 526,265 quasars, out of which 63% have continuum S/N> 3 pixel−1, selected from the fourteenth data release of the Sloan Digital Sky Survey (SDSS-DR14) quasar catalog. We performed a careful and homogeneous analysis of the SDSS spectra of these sources, to estimate the continuum and line properties of several emission lines such as Hα, Hβ, Hγ, Mg ii, C iii], C iv and Lyα. From the derived emission line parameters, we estimated single-epoch virial black hole masses (MBH) for the sample using Hβ, Mg ii, and C iv emission lines. The sample covers a wide range in bolometric luminosity (log Lbol; erg s−1 ) between 44.4 and 47.3 and log MBH between 7.1 and 9.9 M. Using the ratio of Lbol to the Eddington luminosity as a measure of the accretion rate, the logarithm of the accretion rate is found to be in the range between −2.06 and 0.43. We performed several correlation analyses between different emission line parameters and found them to match with that known earlier using smaller samples. We noticed that strong Fe ii sources with large Balmer line width, and highly accreting sources with large MBH are rare in our sample. We make available an extended and complete catalog that contains various spectral properties of 526,265 quasars derived in this work along with other properties culled from the SDSS-DR14 quasar catalog.

Here, you will find the entire spectral catalog in the FITS format.

The main catalog (“ dr14q_spec_prop.fits”) is based on the spectral information from this study consisting of 274 columns, which are described in Table B4.

An extended catalog (“ dr14q_spec_prop_ext.fits”) where all the columns of DR14Q (Paris et al. 2018) are appended after the main catalog (ie, after column # 274). The extended catalog has a total of 380 columns.

We also make available all the model components (in FITS format) for each quasar and the spectral decomposition plots (PDF format): HERE

Each model FITS file has the following 8 columns:

wave : rest-frame wavelength

flux : rest-frame spectral flux

err : rest-frame spectral flux uncertainty

model_host : decomposed host-Galaxy flux

model_pl_bc : a sum of the model power law and Balmer continuum

model_feii : a sum of the Fe II UV and Fe II optical

model_line_bc : total broad line model

model_line_nc : total narrow line model

A dedicated website has been created for Supplementary material: WEBSITE

The First Fermi-LAT Solar Flare Catalog Appendix

We present the appendix of the First Fermi-Large Area Telescope (LAT) Solar flare catalog covering the 24thSolar cycle. The catalog (published in ApJS) contains 45 Fermi-LAT Solar flares (FLSFs) with emission in theγ-ray energy band (30 MeV -10 GeV) detected with a significance ≥5σ over the years 2010-2018. A subsample containing 37 of these flares exhibit delayed emission beyond the prompt-impulsive hard X-ray phase with 21 flares showing delayed emission lasting more than two hours. No prompt-impulsive emission is detected in four of these flares. We also report the first time observations of GeV emission from 3 flares originating from Active Regions located behind the limb (BTL) of the visible Solar disk. We report the light curves, spectra, best proton index and localization (when possible) for all the FLSFs and correlations with Solar multi-wavelength phenomena. The gamma-ray spectra is consistent with the decay of pions produced by >300 MeV protons. The work presented in the First Fermi Solar Flare Catalog contains the largest sample of high-energy gamma-ray flares ever reported and provides the unique opportunity to perform population/correlation studies on the different phases of the flare and thus allowing to open a new window in solar physics.

This work is on behalf of the Fermi Large Area Telescope Collaboration. The First Fermi LAT Solar Flare Catalog has been accepted for publication on ApJS.

Data for: "A partial near infrared guide star catalog for Thirty Meter Telescope Operations"

This .zip file contains the infrared guide star catalogs (IRGSC) generated using optical data (in g, r, i, z, and y bands) from the PANSTARRS DR2 for twenty test fields selected across the TMT's observable sky. The IRGSC is generated by computing the near infrared (J, H and K band) magnitudes of the stellar sources using the Kurucz and Phoenix stellar atmospheric models. Each source in the IRGSC is likely to be stellar and contains the respective PANSTARRS and GAIA object identifiers , their astrometric information from Gaia DR3, the optical and computed NIR magnitudes, the model parameters, the scale factor and the metric d_dev that determines the goodness-of-fit of the model to the data. In addition, the test fields also contain the infrared guide star catalog validated using the UKIDSS DR11 data and plots that show the comparison between the computed NIR magnitudes and observed UKIDSS NIR magnitudes.

Inside this .zip file, there is also another directory that contains the IRGSC generated for additional PANSTARRS Medium Deep Survey fields with readily available PANSTARRS 3pi survey data. Some plots are included that show the efficiency of star-galaxy classification and completeness of the 3-pi survey data for these fields.

More details and the code to generate IRGSC can be found here
