Land use following deforestation for Africa
<p><strong>Data Description</strong></p> <p>These datasets were generated from the research article "<strong>Mapping the diversity of land uses following deforestation across Africa</strong>".</p> <p>Here we publish the yearly time series maps showing land use following deforestation across Africa at 30 m resolution covering the year 2001 to 2020 (20 years). The maps are derived from Planet-NICFI images using U-Net deep neural network architecture enhanced with attention.</p> <p>The original landuse maps are derived from 5 m resolution Planet-NICFI imagery (research license with Planet Labs Inc) of 2022. A region-wide, multi-year set of crop field boundary labels for Africa
<div> <div> <p>Data resulting from a project undertaken to generate a comprehensive set of crop field boundary labels throughout the continent of Africa, representing the years 2017-2023. The project was funded by the <a title="" href="https://lacunafund.org/">Lacuna Fund</a>, and led by <a title="" href="https://farmerline.co/">Farmerline</a>, in collaboration with <a title="" href="https://spatialcollective.com/">Spatial Collective</a> and the <a title="" href="agroimpacts.info">Agricultural Impacts Research Group</a> at <a title="" href="https://www.clarku.edu/departments/geography/">Clark University</a>.</p> <p>Please refer to the technical report in the accompanying repository for more details on the methods used to develop the dataset, an analysis of label quality, and usage guidelines.</p> </div> </div>
European Investment Bank: Lending to Sub-Saharan Africa (2000-2022)
<p>The provided dataset traces the financial trajectory of the European Investment Bank (EIB) from 2000 to 2022, and has been derived from the EIB's annual financial reports. These reports offer a comprehensive account of the EIB's lending activities globally and specifically to countries outside of the European Union (non-EU or extra-EU), including and excluding the UK in the aftermath of Brexit. All numbers are in 2015 euros.</p> <p>However, the EIB's annual reports do not explicitly present an aggregate view of its lending activities in Sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). Therefore, this dataset is particularly valuable as it combines the country-level data from the reports to provide an overview of the EIB's total lending to SSA over this period.</p> <p> </p>
