Topographic Relief Response to Fluvial Incision in the Central Tibetan Plateau: Evidence From Cosmogenic 10Be
<p>Fluvial incision, regarded as one of the fundamental geomorphic processes, drives the evolution of mountainous landscapes. The transitional landscape from low-relief to high-relief in the central Tibetan Plateau is rapidly evolving as it is influenced by river dynamics, climate change and tectonic uplift. Combining cosmogenic <sup>10</sup>Be depth profile dating and topographic analysis, this study provides new constraints on the formation and destruction of low-relief surfaces in the central Tibetan Plateau. We find that the high-relief landscape in the Suoqu area (a major tributary of the upper Nu River) shows a rapid fluvial incision rate of 710 ± 70 mm kyr<sup>−1</sup> since the late Pleistocene, while the low-relief topography in the adjacent Xiaqiuqu area presents an order of magnitude lower incision rate of 70 ± 10 mm kyr<sup>−1</sup>. These results are consistent with the long-term (multi-million-year) exhumation rates derived from low-temperature thermochronology, suggesting that this region has experienced an evolving incision history. We interpret that the higher relief was caused by enhanced fluvial incision, and the lower relief was slowly developed by sedimentation and relatively steady low exhumation rate. The presence of a knickzone appears to mark the boundary between these differentially incising landscapes, which may be caused by rapid headward retreat and higher river discharge in the Suoqu River. The coincidence of fluvial terraces ages with climate-driven events, in addition to paleodenudation rates, indicates that the formation of fluvial terraces in the Xiaqiuqu and Suoqu areas might be associated with the quick sedimentation of weathered materials in early warming periods.<span> </span></p>
Digital replica of the Tomb of Reliefs at Cerveteri
<p>Survey and creation of a digital replica of the interior of the Tomb of Reliefs located in the Banditaccia Necropolis in Cerveteri (RM). It is the only Etruscan tomb (4th BC) decorated with stucco reliefs, unusual compared to the usual frescoes. The dataset, because of its high resolution and accuracy, is a useful tool for study, restoration planning and enhancement of an environment normally closed to the public for conservation reasons. The dataset was acquired with active (Faro laser scanner) and passive (full-frame SLR) sensors through a spherical photogrammetry campaign. The data were reprocessed by combining Structure from Motion techniques to obtain a photogrammetric solution and Computer Graphic for colour correction (with digital painting tools) and geometry and texture optimization. The data mainly concern the 3D domain, have been reprocessed primarily with open source software and are stored in open formats: photogrammetric solution in utf-8 txt files, point clouds in binary ply, polygon meshes with mapping coordinates in blend format, images in jpeg format. The working group consists of researchers from CNR-ISPC: Enzo d'Annibale, Emanuel Demetrescu, Daniele Ferdani.</p>

Data were collected as part of a joint research project between GDH and the Association for the Digitization and Informatisation of Cultural Heritage (DIGI.BA) in Sarajevo, in full collaboration with The Sarajevo Museum. Effect of a single application of Scenar for pain relief in patients with low back and neck pain
<p class="MDPI17abstract">We aimed to demonstrate the antalgic effectiveness of ScenarTM (Self Controlled Electro Neuro Adaptative Regulation) in patients experiencing low back and neck pain. Sixty patients were included and equally assigned by randomization to a Scenar-On group and to a Scenar-Off group (sham group). All patients received a 20 minutes application of ScenarTM of the painful area. Pain at rest and at movement, and sensation of stiffness were assessed using a numeric rating scale at baseline, right after the session and 24 hours following the session. Patients' characteristics at entry were similar between groups. Pain at rest decreased after the session in both groups (from 7.5 [4.2] to 5.0 [3.5]) in the Scenar-Off group, p= 0.0001, from 6.5 [3.0] to 4.0 [4.0]) in the Scenar-On group p<0.0001). Similar results were observed at mobilization but sensation of stiffness was not modified. Such beneficial results do not last until the next day. No undesirables major effects were noticed. Our study does not support the fact that one Scenar session improves better low back and neck pain than a sham session.</p>
