Auditory and Tactile stimuli

This repository contains the recordings of the auditory (xxx_auditory.wav ) and tactile (xxx_tactile.wav) feedback obtained by exciting 3 objects respectively made of wood, plastic and steel by dropping a ping-pong ball from a height of 40 cm. Auditory and tactile feedback were respectively recorded with an Audio-Technica AT4050 condenser microphone placed 40 cm far from the objects, and by attaching a Wilcoxon Model 736 accelerometer under the surface of the objects.

The files xxx_tactile_display.wav are the recordings of the tactile stimuli reproduced by a voice-coil actuator attached to a suspended borosilicate glass plate. Feedback were recorded by attaching a Wilcoxon Model 736 accelerometer under the haptic display.

All signals have been recorded with RME Babyface PRO (0dBFS @ +8dBu, gain: 0dB).

Example Stimuli "Neben dem Ball ist eine Kiste" for a Study on Speech Gesture Interfaces

The material contains two videos from a video corpus created for a study on speech gesture interfaces. The videos show a lady speaking the same German sentence: "Neben dem Ball ist eine Kiste" - Besides the ball is a box, but accompanied by two different gestures.

Example Stimuli "Neben dem Ball ist eine Kiste" with Box-like and Roundish Gesture for a Study on Speech Gesture Interfaces

The material contains two videos from a video corpus created for a study on speech gesture interfaces. A special feature of these data is that the same utterance is combined with different gesture occurrences by re-combining head and torso videos. In both videos the same utterance of the German sentence "Neben dem Ball ist eine Kiste" (English: Beside the ball there is a box.) is used. In the first case, a roundish gesture stroke overlaps with "the ball" and in the second case, a box-like gesture stroke overlaps with "is a box."
