MODIS (MAIAC) composites for south america is not provided here because of its huge file size (contact ricds@hotmail.com).</p> <p>- Final bamboo die-off data from 2001-2017 using the simple bilinear model (combination from band 2 and 5, p-value &lt; 0.001). The data used for Figure S3. Dataset [Amazon or Amazônia: FAIR principles applied on using terms and concepts in the Scopus]

<p>This is the raw data behind the publication:</p> <p>Ramos, M. G.; de Souza,&nbsp;R. F. Amazon or Amaz&ocirc;nia: FAIR principles applied on using terms and concepts in the base Scopus. XX ENANCIB 2019.</p> <p>The present paper reports an empirical research that sought to analyze possible semantic deviations, ambiguities and false positives in the retrieval of documents in the <strong>Scopus database</strong> through search expressions of the terms <strong>Amazon and Amazon, from 2008 to 2018.</strong> From the sample selection <strong>composed of 40 most cited articles of both terms</strong>, a comparative analysis was performed between the author&#39;s keywords versus the keywords indicated by the database and the subject areas retrieved by the chosen terms were evaluated. In addition, Iramuteq software was used for data analysis and visualization. The study aims to contribute to a better understanding of the triad: concepts, keywords and terms regarding database information retrieval and to verify the application of the findable, accessible, interoperable and reusable principles, in the knowledge domain analysis as part of the universe of the Knowledge Organization System. Data Repository for: SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACTS OF OIL PALM CONTRACT FARMING SCHEMES IN THE BRAZILIAN AMAZON

<p>Contract farming is arguably a pro-poor strategy to promote rural development and minimize the social impacts of large-scale agricultural expansion. Yet, little attention has been paid to its environmental impacts, particularly in tropical landscapes. This article fills this gap by linking social and environmental analysis of oil palm contract farming in the Brazilian Amazon. The analysis presented used a mix of quantitative and qualitative methods, including household surveys, remote sensing techniques, and in-depth interviews, to assess whether the scheme managed to avoid deforestation and to contribute to livelihood improvements. The results show that the Brazilian model managed to prevent the deforestation of primary forests, but achieved limited and differentiated livelihood results. The analysis suggests that the Brazilian model is more likely to work for households with an agricultural vocation and a commercial spirit in areas with an abundant availability of degraded lands, but can hardly be a solution in frontier areas or for subsistence or more dependent households. The chapter concludes with some reflections on how contract farming schemes should be designed in order to maximize livelihood gains and minimize negative environmental impacts.</p>
