Efek Kombinasi Ekstrak akar manis dan Daun Salam pada Mencit yang Diinduksi Streptozotocin
<p>Dari banyak tanaman dan rempah yang telah disebutkan sebelumnya, akar manis dan daun salam mengandung senyawa yang dapat mengatur 18 protein target dari mekanisme diabetes . Berdasarkan tinjauan sistematis sebelumnya, akar manis telah diketahui memiliki jumlah potensi senyawa anti-diabetes yang paling tinggi . Meskipun daun salam tidak memiliki jumlah potensi senyawa anti-diabetes yang sebanyak akar manis, namun memiliki efek anti-diabetes yang dapat membantu tubuh dalam mengurangi hiperglikemia, mengurangi hiperlipidemia dan meningkatkan kandungan glikogen hati. Kombinasi dua tanaman tersebut dapat meningkatkan efektivitas aktivitas anti-diabetes, terutama jika kedua tanaman memiliki efektivitas yang tinggi dan komplementer dalam hal mekanisme aksi . Namun, masih ada kekurangan bukti yang mendukung penggunaan kombinasi dua tanaman dalam mengatasi diabetes. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menemukan efek kombinasi akar manis dan daun Salam dalam mengurangi hiperglikemia pada model mencit hiperglikemia.</p>
Pengurangan Berat Badan dan Glukosa Darah pada Mencit Diabetes yang Diinduksi Streptozotocin dengan Kombinasi infusa Cengkeh dan Kayu Manis
<ol> <li><strong>Latar Belakang: Cengkeh dan kayu manis adalah dua tanaman utama yang memiliki efek anti-diabetes. Kekurangan penemuan terkini yang mengungkapkan potensi kombinasi tanaman menghasilkan celah informasi tentang hal ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengungkap efektivitas kombinasi infus antara cengkeh dan kayu manis.</strong></li> <li><strong>Metode: Induksi diabetes pada hewan dilakukan dengan injeksi Streptozotocin (50 mg/kg BB). Hewan-hewan diberikan infus oral yang mengandung 5 mg/mL cengkeh (P1), 2.5 mg/mL cengkeh (P2), 5 mg/mL kayu manis (P3) dan 2.5 mg/mL dari kedua tanaman dalam kombinasi (P4) selama 21 hari pengobatan. Berat badan hewan dipantau secara rutin sekali setiap 3 hari. Kandungan glukosa darah hewan dipantau sebelum pengobatan, selama pengobatan dan setelah pengobatan menggunakan strip glukosa darah.</strong></li> <li><strong>Hasil: Dibandingkan dengan kelompok pengobatan lain, kelompok P1 menunjukkan efek penjagaan berat badan yang lebih baik pada mencit diabetes yang diinduksi STZ sebelum injeksi STZ hingga akhir hari pengobatan. Kelompok diabetes menunjukkan peningkatan kandungan glukosa darah seiring waktu, sementara kelompok pengobatan berhasil menurunkan kandungan glukosa darah secara berangsur-angsur hingga akhir pengobatan. Tidak ditemukan perbedaan statistik antara kelompok pengobatan dalam penurunan glukosa darah. Namun, trend statistik menunjukkan bahwa P1 dan P2 memiliki efek penurunan glukosa darah yang lebih baik daripada P3 dan P4.</strong></li> <li><strong>Kesimpulan: Pengobatan tunggal dengan cengkeh telah menunjukkan hasil pengobatan yang lebih baik daripada kayu manis atau kombinasi kedua tanaman.</strong></li> </ol>
