Glider, turbulence and ADCP datasets used in the manuscript "Storm-induced turbulence alters shelf sea vertical fluxes"
<p>Measurements of shear microstructure, temperature, conductivity, and fluorescence of chlorophyll-a of a stratified water column were taken in the German Bight of the North Sea in Summer 2014. During the measurement period, a storm entered the study region and mixed the water column thoroughly, modifying water column dynamics. The measured quantities were used to estimate turbulence, stratification, mixing, water column stability and changes in the signal of chlorophyll-a.</p>
Model output used in the manuscript "Micro and macro parametric uncertainty in climate change prediction: a large ensemble perspective"
<p>This *.zip file contains the model output from ensemble simulations for the Lorenz 84-Stommel 61 model (hereafter L84-S61; <a href="https://doi.org/10.3402/tellusa.v53i5.12229" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Van Veen et al, 2001</a>; <a href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1748-9326/8/3/034021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daron and Stainforth, 2013</a>). To run these simulations, we used the Low-EFFourth ensemble generator (<a href="https://doi.org/10.48550/arXiv.2506.03313" target="_blank" rel="noopener">de Melo Viríssimo, 2025a</a>; <a href="https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.15566109" target="_blank" rel="noopener">de Melo Viríssimo, 2025b</a>), which is a MATLAB-based framework that allows for large ensembles of low-dimensional dynamical systems to be run and studied in a systematic way (<a href="https://doi.org/10.5194/egusphere-egu23-14755" target="_blank" rel="noopener">de Melo Viríssimo and Stainforth, 2023</a>).</p> <p>These model outputs are presented and discussed in the manuscript "<em>Micro and macro parametric uncertainty in climate change prediction: a large ensemble perspective</em>", published by the Bulletin of the American Meteorological Society (<a href="https://doi.org/10.1175/BAMS-D-24-0064.1" target="_blank" rel="noopener">de Melo Viríssimo and Stainforth, 2025</a>). The manuscript describes the experiments performed, the parameter values used and the modifications done to the original L84-S61 model. For this matter, we also refer you to <a href="https://doi.org/10.1088/1748-9326/8/3/034021" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Daron and Stainforth (2013)</a> and <a href="https://doi.org/10.1063/5.0180870" target="_blank" rel="noopener">de Melo Viríssimo et al. (2024)</a>.</p> <p>All files uploaded were generated from simulations run by the lead author.</p> <p>For specific information about each file uploaded, please refer to the README file. <p>Datasets represents the modelling results for:</p> <p>- Coastal Upwelling Transport Index (CUTI) of the National Oceanic and Administrative Administration’s Environmental Research Division (NOAA-ERD) was used to derive the time series of the coastal upwelling index in four locations on the north-western Black Sea coast. The coastal upwelling index time series was calculated using monthly average wind fields from the European Centre for Medium-Range Weather Forecasts (ECMWFs) reanalysis and MATLAB software to compute the CUTI </p> <p>- The upwelling index (UI) is computed using the CUTI Formula (<span>Bakun Index </span>), defined as CUTI (m3·s−1·100 m−1), representing the volume transport per distance unit of an alongshore section. Below is a brief description of its columns:</p> <p><strong>- track_id:</strong> Track identifier. <p>This dataset provides the data necessary to reproduce the figures in the manuscript titled "A Roadmap for Simulating Chemical Dynamics on a Parametrically Driven Bosonic Quantum Device". Combined with the cQED4ChemDyn code, provided through Github and Zenodo, it regenerates the figures in the manuscript.</p> <p>The project itself provides an implementation that connects chemical kinetics of elementary reactivity models with the framework of the Kerr-Cat circuit quantum electrodynamics (cQED), using the Hamiltonian describing the physics of the hardware and a Lindbladian open quantum dynamics formalism for the time-evolution of the system. For more information, check the existing citation for the publication; any usage of the code/data should cite the preprints (and publications) once available.</p>
