Aspen NPP: average NPP per tree by diameter sizeclass for 4 time periods between 1993 and 2008
This data set is derived from BNZ LTER inventory plots, where DBH of all trees is measured every 3 to 4 years, and increment changes in AG biomass are derived from allometric equations. Data included in this file were obtained from 1993, 1997, 2000, 2004 and 2008 inventories, generating 4 growth increments between 1997 and 2008. Data are reported by diameter sizeclass (10 cm increments), and include NPP increments (averaged across all trees within each landscape and successional stage) for which adequate numbers of trees (typically >5) were present to obtain useful measurements (see N in data file).
Aspen NPP per tree calculated from dendrometer bands annually from 1994 to 2008
This data set is derived from BNZ LTER inventory plots, where band dendrometers are in place on trees within each diameter size class (typically 10 trees per 10 cm increment diameter size class). Dendrometer bands are read in the fall each year. Biomass is calculated from allometric equations, from which annual biomass increments are derived. Data are reported as the average annual growth per tree across all trees within a given landscape and successional stage and reported as kg biomass/tree/year.

Alaskan Peatland Experiment: Community structure and productivity data for 2007-2010 VI - Tree Biomass and NPP
This dataset contains both tree biomass and net primary productivity for Picea mariana (living and standing dead) within the bog of the Alaskan Peatland Experiment as measured in the fall of 2010. Plot within the bog include a plot established within the lowland black spruce permafrost plateau (permafrost), and two plots established within collapse scars embedded within the plateau. One collapse scar formed ~ 45 years ago (old collapse) and the other formed ~ 25 years ago based upon aerial photography provided by the BCEF LTER. The data provided in this data set can be sorted by site and plot.

Dalton and Nenana study site data including: invasive plant density estimates, invasive plant density, soil data, seedling estimates for dominant tree species and ground cover estimates for sites
This dataset contains invasive plant and stand level data for study sites along the Dalton and Parks highways in interior Alaska in the summer of 2012. Study sites were situated in burned and mature black spruce forests to compare invasive plant colonization patterns. Invasive plant density estimates along the road adjacent to each site are included, as well as invasive plant density within study sites. Other data includes ground cover estimates for dominant ground cover types, estimates of seedling abundance for dominant tree species, soil paramters (mineral soil pH and mineral soil moisture, residual organic layer/ organic layer depths, and active layer depths).
Tree ring widths from 1974-2003 for approximately 10 trees/site for 82 sites located in the 2004 burns off the Steese, Taylor, and Dalton Highways, and for the 2005 burn near Eagle Plains, Yukon.
This dataset contains annual raw ring width measurements from 1975-2003 for 793 black spruce trees in 84 sites. Ring widths were measured using WinDendro (resolution 0.001 mm) on two radii per stem disk collected 1.3 m along stem. Data is the average of the two radii measurments in each year for each tree. Accuracy of ring width dates were checked by crossdating using COFECHA.
