Les données sont fournies par les partenaires et le Muséum national d__Histoire naturelle organise leur gestion, leur validation et leur diffusion. Cet inventaire est l__aboutissement d__un long travail qui associe scientifiques, collectivités territoriales, naturalistes et associations de protection de la nature en vue d__établir une synthèse sur le patrimoine naturel en France. Afin de gérer cette importante source d__informations, le Service du patrimoine naturel (http://www.mnhn.fr/spn) du Muséum a construit une base de données permettant d__unifier les données par l__utilisation de référentiels taxonomiques, géographiques et administratifs. Ce système d__information permet de mutualiser au niveau national ce qui était jusqu__à présent éparpillé à la fois en métropole comme en outre-mer et aussi bien pour la partie terrestre que pour la partie marine ; il s__agit d__une nouvelle contribution pour la connaissance, l__expertise et l__élaboration de stratégies de conservation efficaces du patrimoine naturel.</p> <p> </p>

D1.4 - Consolidated OA data set for responsible research practices and trust in science: POIESIS National and Regional Database
<p>Deliverable 1.4 of the POIESIS project is a consolidated open access data set for responsible research practices and trust in science. D1.4 consists of two databases: the POIESIS National Database and the POEISIS Regional Database. The method and rationale behind the construction of all indicators in both databases are laid out in Work Package 1’s previous deliverable, D1.3 (Bauer et al., 2024). The two database are accompanied by a Guidance Sheet which provides details and relevant notes regarding the structure of the two databases. </p> <p> </p>

Lemonade Creek, Yellowstone National Park, USA - Microbial Community Analysis - Cyanidiophyceae genome data for HGT analysis
<p>This dataset consists of 12 metagenome samples that were collected from one of three environments in Yellowstone National Park:</p> <ul> <li>4 samples (numbered 1, 2, 3, 4) are from the "CreekBiofilm" environment.</li> <li>4 samples (1, 2, 3, 4) are from the "Endolithic" environment.</li> <li>4 samples (1, 2, 3, 4) are from the "Soil" environment.</li> </ul> <p>We have found that there are two species of cyanidiophyceae present in these samples: one *Galdieria sulphuraria* (the `*Gsulp*` files) and one *Cyanidioschyzon merolae* (the `*Cmer*` files). For each of these species I extracted their contigs from the metagenome assembly if they had >=10% of their lengths covered by hits with >90% ID to the respective reference genome (i.e., contigs with >10% coverage of hits with >90% ID to a given reference genome). The majority of contigs have >90% hit coverage however, to prevent removal of contigs with novel sequences (arising via HGT or other processes), I used a lenient threshold of 10%. The naming of the files indicate which sample the contigs are from and which of the two cyanidiophyceae species they are putatively from. NOTE: that there are very few predicted proteins in the `YNP_CreekBiofilm_*_Gsulp*` files. This is because this environment is completely dominated by the other algal species and so we recovered very few contigs from this species from these environments.</p>

Illuminating ecology and distribution of the rare fungus Phellinidium pouzarii in the Bavarian Forest National Park
<p><span>Due to their cryptic lifestyle, hidden diversity and a lack of ecological knowledge, conservation of wood-inhabiting fungi used to be a niche interest. Molecular methods are able to provide deeper insights into the ecology of rare fungal species. We investigated the occurrence of the rare wood-inhabiting fungus <em>Phellinidium pouzarii</em> across the Bavarian Forest National Park in Germany using a fruit body survey, metabarcoding and qPCR. Additionally, we sequenced the genome of <em>P. pouzarii </em><span>and</span> characterized the chemical substances responsible for its distinctive scent. Our approach gave matching results between amplicon sequencing and qPCRs, however, we found no evidence that <em>P. pouzarii</em> is more abundant in the National Park than we can assume based on fruit body inventories, underlining the species’ critically endangered status. Genomics revealed <em>P. pouzarii</em>s repertoire of ligninolytic enzymes, pointing towards a white rot lifestyle. Two main components of <em>P. pouzarii</em>s distinct odour we identified (2-phenylethanol, methyl <em>p</em>-anisate) are known to act as insect attractants and/or to possess antimicrobial properties. While <em>P. pouzarii</em> seems to be less competitive than other white-rotters based on its enzymatic repertoire, copy number variation and genome size, the production of 2-phenylethanol might be a way of reducing competition and facilitate dispersal <em>via</em> insects. </span></p>
