Brachyorrhos have a pentagonal/hexagonal frontal, divided internasal, and a narrow, long snout (A), a divided nasal that is bilobed, and two postoculars (B), and dorsal scales that are more juxtaposed than imbricate (C). Calamophis have a pentagonal/triangular frontal, a single internasal, and a broad, relatively short snout (D), an undivided nasal and a single postocular (F), and scales that are imbricate.
