Various concentrations of SGE protein were preincubated for 1.5 h with 2 ng/ml of mouse recombinant TNF before the cytokine ELISA was performed. PBS instead of SGE was added into negative control. Results are presented as the mean ± SD of triplicate wells. *The difference between saliva-treated and untreated group was signif- icant at P <0.05.

Planetesimal Accretion at Short Orbital Periods

<p>Formation models in which terrestrial bodies grow via the pairwise accretion of planetesimals have been reasonably successful at reproducing the general properties of the solar system, including small body populations. However, planetesimal accretion has not yet been fully explored in the context of the wide variety of recently discovered extrasolar planetary systems, particularly those that host short-period terrestrial planets. In this work, we use direct N-body simulations to explore and understand the growth of planetary embryos from planetesimals in disks extending down to ~1 day orbital periods. We show that planetesimal accretion becomes nearly 100 percent efficient at short orbital periods, leading to embryo masses that are much larger than the classical isolation mass. For rocky bodies, the physical size of the object begins to occupy a significant fraction of its Hill sphere towards the inner edge of the disk. In this regime, most close encounters result in collisions, rather than scattering, and the system does not develop a bimodal population of dynamically hot planetesimals and dynamically cold oligarchs, like is seen in previous studies. The highly efficient accretion seen at short orbital periods implies that systems of tightly-packed inner planets should be almost completely devoid of any residual small bodies. We demonstrate the robustness of our results to assumptions about the initial disk model, and also investigate the effects that our simplified collision model has on the emergence of this non-oligarchic growth mode in a planet forming disk.</p>

The Estonian national bibliography (Eesti rahvusbibliograafia - ERB) covers publications in all languages in Estonia and abroad, regardless of the medium and date of publication. The database of the national bibliography is constantly updated with newly published works. A separate part of the national bibliography is the Estonica collection, which includes both publications in foreign languages by Estonian authors and publications about Estonia and Estonians published abroad. The database is managed by the National Library of Estonia, which manages the Estonian national bibliography in accordance with the relevant laws. Cumulative and average bottom trawling fishing hours in the Mediterranean Sea for the period 2015-2022

<p>An enhanced&nbsp; version of the R4AIS workflow (Galdelli et al., 2021)&nbsp;was used to process&nbsp;T-AIS data, with a poll frequency of 5 min, of fishing vessels operating in the Mediterranean Sea during 8 years (2015-2022).&nbsp;Data of vessels categorized as bottom trawlers were aggregated&nbsp;to obtain cumulative (fahs) and average (mfahs) fishing hours by fishing category at 0.1&deg; and 0.5&deg; resolution.</p> <p>Maps of bottom trawling fishing activity were created for four main areas at 0.1&deg;&nbsp;(Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea, Balearic Sea and&nbsp;Levantine Sea) and at 0.5&deg; for the Mediterranean basin.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>

Cumulative and average fishing hours in the Mediterranean, Black and North-east Atlantic for the period 2015-2020

<p>Fishing effort data publicly accessible thought the Global Fishing Watch (GFW) site (GFW, 2022) have been used to investigate the spatiotemporal distribution of fishing activities in a wide area&nbsp;(Latitude: 30.7&deg;N - 66&deg;N; Longitude: 14.4&deg;W - 41.9&deg;E).</p> <p>Daily fishing effort data by flag state and vessel class at 0.01&deg; resolution, from 2015 to 2020, have been filtered and aggregated to obtain fishing effort information of six main gear categories. Categories&nbsp;were created by aggregation of the following vessel classes: fixed gears (pots and traps, set longlines, set gillnets and fixed gear), purse seines (purse seines, tuna purse seines and other purse seines), trawlers (trawlers), drifting longlines (drifting longlines), dredge (dredge fishing) and other (pole and line, fishing, trollers, seiners, other seines and squid jigger). Data were aggregated&nbsp;to obtain cumulative (fahs) and average (mfahs) fishing hours by fishing category at 0.1&deg; and 0.5&deg; resolution.</p> <p>Maps of fishing activity for each gear have been created for eight main areas at 0.1&deg;&nbsp;(Adriatic Sea, Aegean Sea, Balearic Sea, Baltic Sea, Bay of Biscay, Black Sea, Levantine Sea and North Sea) and at Mediterranean and Atlantic level at 0.5&deg;.</p> <p>The dataset presented includes&nbsp;for each gear spatial layers of the cumulative and average fishing hours at 0.1&deg; and 0.5&deg; resolution&nbsp;(.shp; .csv) and&nbsp;maps of each case study area.</p>

NFDI4Culture statistics and visualisations for the period 10/2020–09/2023

<p>FAIR data and reproducible results are important objectives of NFDI4Culture. This data publication contains a set of statistics, data, and visualisations of key aspects of the consortium for the period 10/2020 to 09/2023. These findings are a result of the work on the progress report that NFDI4Culture submitted to the German Research Foundation (DFG) in September 2023. In terms of utility for our partners and communities, these visualisations and data sets possess a broader significance beyond the report.
