Monitoring feedback to authors on the quality of trials evaluating interventions aimed at preventing and treating COVID-19
<p>We aimed to assess transparency of reporting and risk of bias of randomized trials evaluating interventions aimed at preventing and treating COVID-19.</p> <p>This review is part of a larger project: the COVID-NMA project (Boutron 2020a). The COVID-NMA project aims to provide decision-makers with a complete, high-quality and up-to-date synthesis of evidence on interventions for the prevention and treatment of COVID 19. For this purpose, we perform a living mapping of all registered randomized controlled trials and a living evidence synthesis of data from RCTs. We developed a master protocol on the effect of all interventions for the prevention and treatment of COVID-19 (first published on April 8, 2020; an update on May 11, 2020, June 17, 2020, and September 8, 2020) (Boutron 2020b). We set-up a platform (<a href="https://covid-nma.com/">https://covid-nma.com</a>) where all our results are made available and updated weekly.</p>

Dataset: Economical Accommodations for Neurodivergent Students in Software Engineering Education: Experiences from an Intervention in Four Undergraduate Courses
<p>This dataset contains anonymised raw data and examples of accommodations made for neurodiverse students in four undergraduate courses in Computer Science and Software Engineering programmes. The dataset is published as a part of a book chapter in which we report the accommodations.</p> <p>Overall guidelines we followed, including their sources, are contained in <strong>guidelines.md.</strong></p> <p>The raw data for the two surveys is contained in the two Excel files <strong>survey1.xlsx</strong> and <strong>survey2.xlsx</strong>. Free-text answers have been aggregated by neurodiverse and neurotypical students and anonymised, and are available in the files<strong> survey1_freetext_neurodiverse.txt, survey1_freetext_neurotypical.txt, survey2_freetext_neurodiverse.txt, </strong>and<strong> survey2_freetext_neurotypical.txt.</strong></p> <p>The remaining files are examples of the adapted lecture slides and assignment texts. Here, files starting with WEBcourse are from a mandatory undergraduate course on web development, while files starting with SEcourse are from a mandatory undergraduate course giving an overview of Software Engineering.</p>
COMPREHENSIVE LIVESTOCK HEALTH PROGRAM: TARGETED TREATMENT AND HOLISTIC INTERVENTIONS FOR MAJOR PREVALENT DISEASES IN THE LIVESTOCK FARMING COMMUNITY OF DAYNILE DISTRICT, MOGADISHU, SOMALIA.
<p>The general objective of this project was to intervene with the most common livestock diseases in Dayniile district by carrying out a comprehensive campaign for treatment and control. The specific objectives consisted of a treatment campaign, improving infrastructure for establishing disinfectant foot dips and hand washing points, providing disinfectant tools, and finalising community engagement and education by doing training at the farm level.<br>The team visited different donors and added their contribution. After collecting sufficient funds from various sources, the team began the procurement of the necessary materials. This included purchasing veterinary drugs and supplies from local pharmacies and other essentials like stationery. The first activity was treatment campaigns, which were a central aspect of the project. Over 290 animals were treated for various diseases and conditions. The farm manager was informed of the diagnoses, and upon receiving their permission, the appropriate treatments were administered. The second intervention action was a vaccination campaign. The team vaccinated a total of 70 animals against clostridial bacteria, which is one of the most common camel diseases encountered in the area. The third intervention was the establishment of biosecurity facilities at select livestock farms. Among all the farms involved in the project, five were chosen for the provision of enhanced biosecurity measures. These measures included the installation of foot dips and teat dips. The fourth activity was educating livestock farmers on strategies for controlling and preventing livestock diseases. The training was held at Beder Camel Dairy Farm and attended by approximately 10 individuals, comprising 3 females and 7 males. The content of the training was three modules: the first was general farm biosecurity, the second was operational biosecurity, and the third was concern for vaccination. Recommendation: We recommend that each farm hire livestock health specialists to easily implement disease prevention steps and promptly solve each new case.<br> We recommend the livestock association, veterinary clinics, and other institutions working on livestock do routine campaigns that facilitate the determination of prevalent diseases and the treatment of those cases</p>

Desk research of 107 case studies on state-of-the-art of cultural tourism interventions
<p>The aim of Work Package 3 of the SmartCulTour project (<a href="http://www.smartcultour.eu">www.smartcultour.eu</a>) is to provide a state-of-the-art overview of cultural tourism interventions implemented in European cities and regions, thereby identifying best practices and the impacts and success conditions of cultural tourism interventions. To this end, the consortium identified 107 interesting cultural tourism interventions throughout Europe, with a <strong>geographical coverage</strong> of: Belgium (9), Italy (8), The Netherlands (8), Serbia (7), Romania (6), Croatia (5), Hungary (4), Portugal (4), Spain (4), United Kingdom (4), Finland (3), France (3), Sweden (3), Other countries (24), Multiple countries (15). The "Overview and taxonomy of 107 interventions" lists every intervention that was studied, as well as their respective classification given, based on the description and objective of the intervention. Within this table, a value of "1" is its primary categorization, with a value of "2" assigned to a secondary taxonomy. Each intervention can have multiple purposes and therefore belong to different categories.The taxonomy of cultural tourism interventions is further described in "State of the art of cultural tourism interventions" (DOI: 10.5281/zenodo.5270321).</p> <p>The 107 cultural tourism interventions were analyzed via desk research only during the period September 2020-January 2021, based on available secondary data and following a standardized <strong>data collection form</strong>. This form is included here as "Internal data collection form used for analysis". The forms collect data on:</p> <ul> <li>Context and background information;</li> <li>The 'reason why' of the intervention;</li> <li>The intervention;</li> <li>Resources and tools necessary to design and implement the interventions;</li> <li>Impacts (expected, perceived and measured);</li> <li>(Perceived) success conditions and limiting factors.</li> </ul> <p>The zip-file "Internal forms of 107 interventions" contains all 107 completed data collection forms.</p> <p> </p>
Pain Interventions in Dementia - Pain events dataset
<p>This is data collected for a quasi-experimental nurse-led intervention trial based on a convenience sample of three nursing homes. It was collected in the Swiss Canton of Zurich and Thurgau and serves to examine the effects on dementia patients, the healthcare institution, and the qualification level of the healthcare workers using an event analysis and a multilevel analysis. Healthcare workers have been individually trained on how to assess, intervene and evaluate acute and chronic pain with BESD and/or VAS. There are three data-monitoring cycles (T0, T1, T2) and two intervention cycles (I1, I2) with a total study duration of 425 days. Dataset for "Cognitive behavioural therapy self-help intervention preferences among informal caregivers of adults with chronic kidney disease: an online cross-sectional survey"
<p>Data and R code used for the analysis of data for the publication: Coumoundouros et al., Cognitive behavioural therapy self-help intervention preferences among informal caregivers of adults with chronic kidney disease: an online cross-sectional survey. BMC Nephrology</p> <p><strong>Summary of study</strong></p> <p>An online cross-sectional survey for informal caregivers (e.g. family and friends) of people living with chronic kidney disease in the United Kingdom. Study aimed to examine informal caregivers' cognitive behavioural therapy self-help intervention preferences, and describe the caregiving situation (e.g. types of care activities) and informal caregiver's mental health (depression, anxiety and stress symptoms).</p> <p>Participants were eligible to participate if they were at least 18 years old, lived in the United Kingdom, and provided unpaid care to someone living with chronic kidney disease who was at least 18 years old.</p> <p>The online survey included questions regarding (1) informal caregiver's characteristics; (2) care recipient's characteristics; (3) intervention preferences (e.g. content, delivery format); and (4) informal caregiver's mental health. Informal caregiver's mental health was assessed using the 21 item Depression, Anxiety, and Stress Scale (DASS-21), which is composed of three subscales measuring depression, anxiety, and stress, respectively.</p> <p>Sixty-five individuals participated in the survey.</p> <p>See the published article for full study details.</p> <p><strong>Description of uploaded files</strong></p> <p>1. In this study, we investigated the effect of three dietary interventions on small intestinal development in broilers and special emphasis on immunity. Morphometry and immunostaining showed no significant differences in any of the treatments, however, gene expression revealed significant differences in the LPHF and MCFA treatments. Pathway enrichment analysis showed a few main pathways involved in regulation of cellular processes, cell structural processes, and cell protection, as well as a putative link to inflammatory processes. Taken together, these findings suggest that dietary interventions can modulate gut health and functionality in chicken.</p>

Timeline of government interventions and events regarding the COVID-19 pandemic in Sweden December 31, 2019, to May 5, 2023.
<p>The Swedish approach to managing the COVID-19 pandemic has received significant attention in international scholarly work and the press. For this dataset, we have reviewed governmental and media archives to build a detailed timeline that chronicles significant policies, interventions, and events in the Swedish management of COVID-19. The dataset contains summary descriptions of what took place, when it happened, and who the principal actors involved were. Links to primary sources are provided for each entry. Because of the level of detail and saturation, the dataset offers a detailed account of Swedish pandemic governance and will benefit anyone working on Swedish pandemic management or doing comparative work between Sweden and other jurisdictions.</p> <p>The dataset contains details on the date an event took place (column 1), tags to facilitate navigation (column 2), details on the principal actors involved in the event (column 3), a summary description of what took place and who was involved (column 4), and links to primary materials (e.g., archival entries) (columns 4-12). Through a structured and detailed outline, the dataset provides a saturated account of policy interventions and events in Sweden during the COVID-19 pandemic for the period 2020-2023 until it was no longer considered a public health emergency of international concern by the WHO and complements existing and less detailed timelines published at earlier points in the period.</p>

Data for: Understanding consumers to inform market interventions for Singapore's shark fin trade
<ol> <li>Sharks, rays and their cartilaginous relatives (Class Chondricthyes, herein 'sharks') are amongst the world's most threatened species groups, primarily due to overfishing, which in turn is driven by complex market forces including demand for fins. Understanding the high-value shark fin market is a global priority for conserving shark and rays, yet the preferences of shark fin consumers are not well understood. This gap hinders the design of evidence-based consumer-focused conservation interventions. </li> <li>Using an online discrete choice experiment, we explored preferences for price, quality, size, menu types (as a proxy for exclusivity) and source of fins (with varying degrees of sustainability) among 300 shark fin consumers in Singapore: a global entrepot for shark fin trade. </li> <li>Overall, consumers preferred lower-priuced fins sourced from responsible fisheries or produced using novel lab-cultured techniques. We also identified four consumer segments, each with distinct psychographics characteristics and consumption behaviors. </li> <li>These preferences and profiles could be leveraged to inform new regulatory and market-based interventions regarding the sale and consumption of shark fins, and incentivize responsible fisheries and lab-cultured innovation for delivering conservation and sustainability goals. </li> <li>In addition, message framing around health benefits, shark endangerment and counterfeiting could reinforce existing beliefs amongst consumers in Singapore and drive behavioral shifts to ensure that market demand remains within the limits of sustainable supply. </li> </ol> <p>This dataset includes all the responses collected from the online discrete choice experiment which was implemented by a market survey company, as well as the goodness-of-fit chi-square analyses.
