Competition between predicting mathematical models and laboratory results for covid 19 after vaccination in Iran

<p>All of us like to find a way to end Covid 19. Specially, economy confronts with many problems. In attached JPG, i bring two predictions for covid 19 pandemic in Iran. Mathematical model predicts that after a fall in figure we will have a peak. However, right now, most of people in Iran used of vaccines. In addition, government forced on all to get vaccine. Even, students with 12 to 18 years old get vaccine. It has been heard that soonly, kids with ages between 3-12 years old will receive vaccine. As a man or woman, all of us like that this program will response and vaccines work. However, predictions of math show reverse result. Although, maybe, we should enter the factor of vaccine in mathematical model. It is good opportunity for scientists to examine response of covid 19 to program of vaccine for all. Even if we have a peak, however its height be smaller, we can say that vaccines act. Hope for ending Covid 19 in all countries.</p>

Dataset 3 - Mathematical Modeling of Growth for Climbing Plants

Ecology and Evolution, 00: 1-11. <a href="https://doi.org/10.1002/ece3.8375">https://doi.org/10.1002/ece3.8375</a>".</p> <p>The field experiment compared the response to increased input of nutrients and energy (artificial detritus) to an empirical model of intra-guild predation (IGP) to the predictions of published, simple mathematical models of asymmetric IGP (a generalist IG Predator that feeds both on a specialist IG Prey and a Resource that it shares with the IG Prey). The empirical model was a food-web module created by pooling species abundances across many families in a community of soil micro-arthropods into three response variables: IG Predator (large predatory mites), IG Prey (small predatory mites) and a shared Resource (fungivorous mites and springtails). The pattern of change over time in densities of the three response variables (IG Predator, IG Prey and Resource) was compared to the predictions of mathematical models of IGP to determine if the feeding relationships in this community of soil micro-arthropods could be abstracted into a simple IGP module. Thus, we were testing the hypothesis that IGP is a dominant organizing principle in this community.</p> <p>Simple mathematical models predict that increased input of nutrients and energy to the shared Resource will increase the equilibrium density of Resource and IG Predator, but will decrease that of IG Prey. By the experiment's end, densities of fungivores (Resource) had increased ~1.5x (ratio of pooled fungivore densities in the High treatment to plots with no addition of detritus (None treatment); and IG Predator densities had increased ~4x. Contrary to the prediction of mathematical models, IG Prey had not decreased, but instead had increased ~1.5x. We discuss possible reasons for the failure of the empirical model to agree with IGP theory.</p>

Data from: A new data-driven mathematical model dissociates attractiveness from sexual dimorphism of human faces

<p>Human facial attractiveness is evaluated by using multiple cues. Among others, sexual dimorphism (i.e. masculinity for male faces/femininity for female faces) is an influential factor of perceived attractiveness. Since facial attractiveness is judged by incorporating sexually dimorphic traits as well as other cues, it is theoretically possible to dissociate sexual dimorphism from facial attractiveness. This study tested this by using a data-driven mathematical modelling approach. We first analysed the correlation between perceived masculinity/femininity and attractiveness ratings for 400 computer-generated male and female faces (Experiment 1) and found positive correlations between perceived femininity and attractiveness for both male and female faces. Using these results, we manipulated a set of faces along the attractiveness dimension while controlling for sexual dimorphism by orthogonalisation with data-driven mathematical models (Experiment 2). Our results revealed that perceived attractiveness and sexual dimorphism are dissociable, suggesting that there are as yet unidentified facial cues other than sexual dimorphism that contribute to facial attractiveness. Future<span> studies can investigate the true preference of sexual dimorphism or the genuine effects of attractiveness by using well-controlled facial stimuli like those </span><span>that this study</span><span> generated. </span><span>The</span> findings will be of benefit to the further understanding of what makes a face attractive.</p>

<p>Experimental data for the article: Szablowski, L.; Dybinski, O.; Szczesniak, A.; Milewski, J. Mathematical Model of Steam Reforming in the Anode Channel of a Molten Carbonate Fuel Cell. Energies 2022, 15, 608.&nbsp;The experiments were performed by the first two authors.<br> These data set refer to experiments carried out on a stand used to test high-temperature fuel cells. The subject of the study was a molten carbonate fuel cell fueled with a mixture of methane and steam with steam to carbon ratio of 2.0, 2.5, 3.0 and 3.5 and at the cell operating temperature of 550&deg;C and 650&deg;C. Additionally, in the anode channel of the cell, there was a catalyst in the amount of 2 g. The active area of the cell was 20.25 cm<sup>2</sup>. The article that uses these research results is published in an open access journal with a CC-BY license. This research was funded by the National Science Center, Poland (Grant number 2020/39/D/ST8/02021).</p>

Mathematical model results for: Dynamic fibronectin assembly and remodeling by leader neural crest cells prevents jamming in collective cell migration

<p>Collective cell migration plays an essential role in vertebrate development, yet the extent to which dynamically changing microenvironments influence this phenomenon remains unclear. Observations of the distribution of the extracellular matrix (ECM) component fibronectin during the migration of loosely connected neural crest cells (NCCs) lead us to hypothesize that NCC remodeling of an initially punctate ECM creates a scaffold for trailing cells, enabling them to form robust and coherent stream patterns. We evaluate this idea in a theoretical setting by developing an agent-based model that incorporates reciprocal interactions between NCCs and their ECM. ECM remodeling, haptotaxis, contact guidance, and cell-cell repulsion are sufficient for cells to establish streams in silico, however additional mechanisms, such as chemotaxis, are required to consistently guide cells along the correct target corridor. Further investigations of the model imply that contact guidance and differential cell-cell repulsion between leader and follower cells are key contributors to robust collective cell migration by preventing stream breakage. Global sensitivity analysis and simulated underexpression/overexpression experiments suggest that long-distance migration without jamming is most likely to occur when leading cells specialize in creating ECM fibers, and trailing cells specialize in responding to environmental cues by upregulating mechanisms such as contact guidance. This dataset contains summary statistics, movies, parameter values, and photos obtained from individual realizations of the mathematical model.</p>
