Survey Data for Multicriteria Satisfaction Analysis of Cargo Bike Last-Mile Delivery in European Cities

SSH CENTRE (Social Sciences and Humanities for Climate, Energy aNd Transport Research Excellence) is a Horizon Europe project, engaging directly with stakeholders across research, policy, and business (including citizens) to strengthen social innovation, SSH-STEM collaboration, transdisciplinary policy advice, inclusive engagement, and SSH communities across Europe, accelerating the EU’s transition to carbon neutrality.
SSH CENTRE is based in a range of activities related to Open Science, inclusivity and diversity – especially with regards Southern and Eastern Europe and different career stages – including: development of novel SSH-STEM collaborations to facilitate the delivery of the EU Green Deal; SSH knowledge brokerage to support regions in transition; and the effective design of strategies for citizen engagement in EU R&I activities. Outputs include action-led agendas and building stakeholder synergies through regular Policy Insight events.
This is captured in a high-profile virtual SSH CENTRE generating and sharing best practice for SSH policy advice, overcoming fragmentation to accelerate the EU’s journey to a sustainable future.
The documents uploaded here are part of WP2 whereby novel, interdisciplinary teams were provided funding to undertake activities to develop a policy recommendation related to EU Green Deal policy. Each of these policy recommendations, and the activities that inform them, will be written-up as a chapter in an edited book collection. Three books will make up this edited collection - one on climate, one on energy and one on mobility.
As part of writing a chapter for the SSH CENTRE book on ‘Strengthening European mobility policy - Governance recommendations from innovative interdisciplinary collaborations’, we elicit the opinions of citizens in urban logistics policymaking through a series of surveys in different European cities. The files attached to this Zenodo webpage are therefore the dataset contains raw survey data from a study utilizing Multicriteria Satisfaction Analysis (MUSA) to evaluate public perceptions of cargo bike last-mile delivery in London, Paris, Rome, Dublin, and Warsaw. The data encompasses over 2,000 responses, detailing participants' satisfaction levels with various aspects of cargo bike delivery services, including CO2 emissions, noise, traffic, safety, and shipping costs. This dataset supports comprehensive analyses of urban logistics policies aimed at sustainable mobility solutions in these specific cities.

Physical, psychological, academic, and sexual abuse of university students in five Latin American countries: characteristics and association with student satisfaction

Background: A high rate of student abuse has been reported in various studies. This study aimed to characterize the abuse of university students in five Latin American countries and its association with student satisfaction.

Methods: An analytical transversal study was conducted, in which 2,141 undergraduate students from Paraguay, Ecuador, Colombia, Venezuela, and Panama were surveyed. A validated questionnaire was applied to evaluate four types of abuse (Cronbach's Alpha: 0.90): psychological, physical, academic, and sexual. In addition, students’ perception of satisfaction of four items in the university environment (Cronbach's Alpha: 0.85) was also analyzed.

Results: It was found that the older students were, the more dissatisfied they were with “logistics” (aPR: 1.02; 95% CI: 1.00-1.04; p-value; 0.014) and the top-third segment of those who perceived “sexual abuse” were more dissatisfied with the teaching provided by their universities (aPR: 1.23; 95% CI: 1.00-1.52; p-value: 0.048). Moreover, those who were most dissatisfied with the agreements were part of the top-third segment of those who perceived sexual abuse (aPR: 1.16; 95% CI: 1.03-1.32; p-value: 0.016) and those in the country of Panama were less dissatisfied with “agreements” (RPa: 0.70; 95% CI: 0.66-0.073; p-value<0.001). The countries of Colombia (aPR: 0.08; IC95%: 0.01-0.59; p-value: 0.014) and Panama (aPR: 0.57; 95% CI: 0.52-0.64; p-value<0.001) were less dissatisfied with investigation programs.

Conclusions: The perception of ‘sexual abuse’ was related with dissatisfaction with teaching and agreements.

Scores on independence, quality of life, and satisfaction on visual mapping software intervention in children with Down syndrome

Enhancing independence and quality of life are key modifiable outcomes that are short- and long-term goals for children with Down syndrome and for their parents. Here we report the outcome of a 4-week feasibility study in a cohort of 26 children with Down Syndrome, 7–17 years old, who used an assistive technology approach that incorporated smart device software and step-by-step pictures (the MapHabit System). Parents reported improvements in children's activities of daily living, quality of life, and independence. They recommended this technology to other families. This report and its findings underscore the feasibility of using assistive technology in children with Down syndrome within home and family settings.

The current findings that assistive technology can be used successfully and effectively in family and home settings set the stage for more informative systematic studies using assistive technology for this population.
