<p>FishArt is a 10-month international project funded by the New European Bahahus Cross-KIC Connect 2024 written by and granted to Chiara Certoma&rsquo; (UniTo &ndash; now at UniRm1) and led by Laura Corazza (UniTo), in collaboration with Raw-News, Platoon and the fishermen cooperatives of Anzio (Rome, Italy). FishArt promotes a radically participatory art and education process supporting the requalification of the Fishermen&rsquo;s Harbour in the coastal city of Anzio, Italy.As part of the FishArt project agenda, transect walks and educational training initiatives have been combined in a major event, strongly requested by the local community. The synergy between local institutions and international research aims to stimulate civic participation on the problem of marine pollution and the care of the coastal territory.The event &ldquo;Let&rsquo;s not make war, let&rsquo;s fight waste!&rdquo; is a civic initiative promoted by the Extraordinary Commission supported by the Environment Area of the Municipality of Anzio which aims to involve all the components of civil society for a collaborative cleaning of the beaches, transforming the celebrations of the Anzio/Nettuno landing into a moment of sharing and to raise awareness against marine pollution.</p>

Research data: Continuity Amid Transformation: An Analysis of Pottery Production from the Late La Tène to Early Roman Periods in Eastern Bohemia

<p>Data used in the research presented in the article titled "Continuity Amid Transformation: An Analysis of Pottery Production from the Late La T&egrave;ne to Early Roman Periods in Eastern Bohemia".</p> <p><strong>Abstract of the article:</strong></p> <p>At the end of the La T&egrave;ne period and the beginning of the Roman period in the first century BC, society in Central Europe underwent a significant transformation, which included notable changes in pottery production. This transformation is often attributed to the collapse of the social structures of the La T&egrave;ne period and the arrival of a new population. Pottery production, in particular, is generally considered to have undergone a complete transformation.</p> <p>However, previous studies on this transition have primarily focused on the stylistic analysis of shapes and decorations, as illustrated by the pottery assemblage from Slepotice (Eastern Bohemia). In order to obtain additional data on the transitional period, this study of pottery from Slepotice incorporates analyses of the materials used and the manufacturing process through macroscopic observation, X-ray fluorescence analysis, and thin-section analysis. Educational transformation and network learning dataset – qualitative data from an international collaborative EU-project

<p>We are releasing our dataset of workshop outcomes acquired from the annual consortium conferences organized by the international &ldquo;NextFood&rdquo; consortium.&nbsp;The purpose of this project is to&nbsp;develop new ways of educating the future sustainability leaders of the agrifood sector, making sure that the professionals (farmers, advisers, businesses, students) have the right set of skills and competences needed to tackle the sustainability challenges we face ahead.&nbsp;Data gathering started from May 2018 yielding considerable amount of data on achievements, challenges and action plans related to educational transformation. Relocated Seismicity Catalogs on the Discovery Transform Fault, 4S on the East Pacific Rise

<p>Two relocated earthquake catalogs are provided for the Discovery Transform Fault located at 4&ordm;S on the East Pacific Rise. There is a microseismicity catalog representing one year of activity recorded during a 2008 ocean bottom seismometer deployment, which includes 12,635 events with local magnitudes, M<sub>L</sub>, between 0 and 4.1. The second catalog includes 24 years (1 January 1990 - 1 April 2013) of earthquakes obtained from the global Centroid Moment Tensor (CMT) catalog, a total of 15 events, with seismic moment magnitudes, M<sub>W</sub>, between 5.4 and 6.0.</p> <p>Microseismicity was relocated using the HypoDD relocation algorithm (Waldhauser, 2001), while the CMT events were relocated using a teleseismic surface-wave cross-correlation technique (McGuire, 2008). The 15 CMT events all relocated into one of five distinct rupture patches on the Discovery Transform Fault. Optical tweezer platform for the characterization of pH-triggered colloidal transformations in the oleic acid/water system

<p>Hypothesis: Soft colloidal particles that respond to their environment have innovative potential for many fields ranging from food and health to biotechnology and oil recovery. The in situ characterisation of colloidal transformations that triggers the functional response remain a challenge.</p> <p>Experiments: This study demonstrates the combination of an optical&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/physics-and-astronomy/micromanipulation">micromanipulation</a>&nbsp;platform, polarized optical video microscopy and&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/physics-and-astronomy/microfluidics">microfluidics</a>&nbsp;in a comprehensive approach for the analysis of pH-driven structural transformations in emulsions. The new platform, together with&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/physics-and-astronomy/synchrotron">synchrotron</a>&nbsp;small angle X-ray scattering, was then applied to research the food-relevant, pH-responsive,&nbsp;<a href="https://www.sciencedirect.com/topics/chemistry/oleic-acid">oleic acid</a>&nbsp;in water system.</p> <p>Findings: The experiments demonstrate structural transformations in individual oleic acid particles from micron-sized onion-type multilamellar oleic acid vesicles at pH 8.6, to nanostructured emulsions at pH &lt; 8.0, and eventually oil droplets at pH &lt; 6.5. The smooth particle-water interface of the onion-type vesicles at pH 8.6 was transformed into a rough particle surface at pH below 7.5. The pH-triggered changes of the interfacial tension at the droplet-water interface together with mass transport owing to structural transformations induced a self-propelled motion of the particle. The results of this study contribute to the fundamental understanding of the structure&ndash;property relationship in pH-responsive emulsions for nutrient and drug delivery applications.</p>

AdsMT: Multi-modal Transformer for Predicting Global Minimum Adsorption Energy

<p>We built three Global Minimum Adsorption Energy (GMAE) benchmark datasets named OCD-GMAE, Alloy-GMAE and FG-GMAE from OC20-Dense, Catalysis Hub, and `functional groups' (FG)-dataset datasets through strict data cleaning, and each data point represents a unique combination of catalyst surface and adsorbate. These new benchmark datasets can be beneficial for future ML study on GMAE prediction.</p> <p>In addition, a similar data cleaning procedure was employed on the OC20 dataset to create a new dataset named OC20-LMAE, which comprises surface/adsorbate pairings along with their local minimum adsorption energies (LMAE). The OC20-LMAE dataset contains 363,937 data points and serves as an effective resource for model pretraining.</p>

<p>With the daily growth of data in all kinds of sectors, such as <span>Information Technolo</span><span>gies (IT)</span>, healthcare, education, commerce or telecommunication, it becomes important to use a high-performance system to manage all this data in the best possible way. Indeed, in the absence of good data management, it can be difficult for these sectors to prevent data loss, ensure safe maintenance or guarantee data security. For this reason, an effective data management system is the Entity-Relationship model. Indeed, thanks to this model, all kinds of sectors have the possibility of designing and organizing their data in relational databases, thus improving data security and better internal communication. Furthermore, it is interesting to modernize the classic approach of the Entity-Relationship model and its visual representations of data in the present day. The technologies of Augmented and Virtual Reality respond precisely to this challenge of innovation in the Entity-Relationship model. Therefore, the first objective of this thesis is to implement the Entity-Relationship model in a Meta-Modeling Platform for Augmented and Virtual Reality. The second objective is to implement an algorithm that transforms an Entity-Relationship model into SQL statements to create database tables. The Entity-Relationship model is used to design the logic of a database, and the implementation of the algorithm is used to create the database.</p>

RetroTransformDB - a dataset of transforms (retrosynthetic reactions)

<p>Here we present a dataset of transforms compiled and coded in SMIRKS line notation by us.&nbsp;The collection is comprised of more than 100 records each including id, reactions name, SMIRKS linear notation, target functional group and transform type. All SMIRKS transforms were tested syntactically, semantically and from chemical point of view in different software platforms. SMIRKS notations are written with explicit H atoms, therefore it is expected that the used software will apply the SMIRKS transforms against molecules with explicit H atoms.</p>
