Data part of the manuscript Anaerobic methanotrophy is stimulated by graphene oxide in a brackish urban canal sediment

<p>We surveyed three canals in the city of Amsterdam (Netherlands) for it methane emissions and potential to filter methane through anaerobic oxidation of methane in the canal sediment. To unravel the mechanisms involved we characterised the sediment geochemically. All data present in the manuscript is available in the Excel file.</p>

Non-identical moire twins in bilayer graphene revealed by valley Hall effect measurements

<p>The superlattice obtained by aligning a monolayer graphene and boron nitride (BN) inherits from the hexagonal lattice a sixty degrees periodicity with the layer alignment. It implies that, in principle, the properties of the heterostructure must be identical for 0$^{\circ}$ and 60$^{\circ}$ of layer alignment. Here, we demonstrate, using dynamically rotatable van der Waals heterostructures, that the moir\&#39;e superlattice formed in a bilayer graphene/BN has different electronic properties at 0$^{\circ}$ and 60$^{\circ}$ of alignment. Although the existence of these non-identical moir\&#39;e twins is explained by different relaxation of the atomic structures for each alignment, the origin of the observed valley Hall effect remains to be explained. A simple Berry curvature argument do not hold to explain the hundred and twenty degrees periodicity of this observation. Our results highlight the complexity of the interplay between mechanical and electronic properties on moir\&#39;e structure and the importance of taking into account atomic structure relaxation to understand its electronic properties.</p>

Universal behavior of low-temperature heat capacity of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene thermoplastic polymer and its composite with graphene oxide

<p>The low-temperature dependence of the heat capacity of acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) polymer and its composite with thermally reduced graphene oxide was studied. The existence of a so-called &ldquo;boson peak&rdquo; characteristic of orientational and structural glasses was demonstrated. The boson peak appears in the form of a local maximum in the heat capacity curve displayed as C/T<sup>3</sup>&nbsp;vs T at T<sub>max</sub> = 3.52 K. It was found that for both ABS polymer and its composite, as well as for a number of other substances of a crystalline and amorphous nature, the manifestation of the anomaly of the boson peak in the heat capacity has a universal character that is described by an empirical function &Delta;*. The value of &Delta;* depends on the magnitude of the anomaly in the heat capacity and the temperature of the boson peak manifestation. Thus, this study provides new physical information about the possible causes of the boson peak appearance in disordered materials and indicates the universality of boson peak anomaly for substances with short- and long-range order</p>

Simulation Files for Organic Contaminants and Atmospheric Nitrogen at the Graphene–Water Interface

<p>This data set provides files needed to run the simulations described in the manuscript entitled &quot;Organic contaminants and atmospheric nitrogen at the graphene&ndash;water interface: A simulation study&quot; using the molecular dynamics software NAMD and LAMMPS. The output of the simulations, as well as scripts used to analyze this output, are also included. The files are organized into directories corresponding to the figures of the main text and supplementary information. They include molecular model structure files (NAMD psf), force field parameter files (in CHARMM format), initial atomic coordinates (pdb format), NAMD or LAMMPS configuration files, Colvars configuration files, NAMD log files, and NAMD output including restart files (in binary NAMD format) and some trajectories in dcd format (downsampled). Analysis is controlled by shell scripts (Bash-compatible) that call VMD Tcl scripts. A modified LAMMPS C++ source file is also included.</p>

F4TCNQ and TTF on approximate supported graphene, 3D surface adsorbate search with BOSS

<p>These datasets were employed in the manuscript:</p> <p>[1] J. J&auml;rvi, M. Todorović, and P. Rinke, Efficient modeling of organic adsorbates on oxygen-intercalated graphene on Ir(111), <em>Phys. Rev. B</em> 105, 195304 (2022). DOI:&nbsp;10.1103/PhysRevB.105.195304</p> <p>The two datasets feature DFT sampling of adsorption configurations for F<sub>4</sub>TCNQ and TTF on approximate supported graphene (Gr) using the Bayesian Optimization Structure Search (BOSS) method. The 3D configurational searches&nbsp;were&nbsp;conducted for each molecule over two molecular translations (<em>x, y</em>) and an in-plane rotation (<em>gamma</em>). The search range of on-surface translation (<em>x, y</em>) is [0, 1] in fractional coordinates of the Gr unit cell. The in-plane rotation (<em>gamma</em>) is done in the range [0, 180] deg. Energy (<em>E</em><sub>ads</sub>) is the adsorption energy of F<sub>4</sub>TCNQ or TTF on the approximate supported Gr, computed with DFT. For additional details on search coordinates and DFT calculations please refer to [1].<br> &nbsp;<br> The 3D models&nbsp;of the adsorption energy surfaces&nbsp;were constructed with 500 energy points for each molecule, the full lists are provided in the datasets.
