EXTREMA: Random autonomous interplanetary mission scenarios for EXTREMA Simulation Hub (ESH) hardware-in-the-loop simulations
<p>EXTREMA (short for Engineering Extremely Rare Events in Astrodynamics for Deep-Space Missions in Autonomy) enables self-driving spacecraft, challenging the current paradigm under which spacecraft are piloted in the interplanetary space [1]. Deep-space guidance, navigation, and control applied in a complex scenario is the subject of EXTREMA, which wants to engineer ballistic capture in a totally autonomous fashion. EXTREMA is erected on three pillars. Pillar 1 is on autonomous navigation. Pillar 2 involves autonomous guidance and control. Pillar 3 deals with autonomous ballistic capture. The outcomes from each one of the three pillars is validated with a tailored experiment featuring the model of the associated CubeSat subsystems. Integrated experiments involving all the components of a CubeSat GNC system are carried on in the EXTREMA Simulation Hub, an integrated facility simulating an interplanetary transfer with a hardware-in-the-loop setup. The project has been awarded a European Research Council (ERC) Consolidator Grant in 2019.</p> <p>The data set is made of 1000 (even more in some releases) random interplanetary mission scenarios used for hardware-in-the-loop simulations performed in the EXTREMA simulation Hub (ESH). Each scenario comes with the following information: generation seed, initial epoch, initial state (Keplerian elements and Cartesian coordinates), initial attitude (quaternion and direct cosine matrix), initial mass, number of revolution, time of flight, target final epoch, target final state (Keplerian elements and Cartesian Coordinates), and other supplementary data. Scenarios are organized in directories each containing at least the following files:</p> <ul> <li>'esh_ic.json': random scenario information saved in .json format;</li> <li>'esh_ic.mat': random scenario information saved in .mat format.</li> </ul> <p>Some releases provide only a limited set of data in the 'esh_ic.json' file. Hippocampal hub neurons maintain distinct connectivity throughout their lifetime
<p>The temporal embryonic origins of cortical GABA neurons are critical for their specialization. In the neonatal hippocampus, GABA cells born the earliest (ebGABAs) operate as ‘hubs’ by orchestrating population synchrony. However, their adult fate remains largely unknown. To fill this gap, we have examined CA1 ebGABAs using a combination of electrophysiology, neurochemical analysis, optogenetic connectivity mapping as well as ex vivo and in vivo calcium imaging. We show that CA1 ebGABAs not only operate as hubs during development, but also maintain distinct morpho-physiological and connectivity profiles, including a bias for long-range targets and local excitatory inputs. In vivo, ebGABAs are activated during locomotion, correlate with CA1 cell assemblies and display high functional connectivity. Hence, ebGABAs are specified from birth to ensure unique functions throughout their lifetime. In the adult brain, this may take the form of a long-range hub role through the coordination of cell assemblies across distant regions.</p>

Datasets for chromatin hub prediction in six cell lines based on multiple genomic features
<p>Tables with features and classes for machine learning prediction of chromatin hubs. Genomic features include CTCF, EP300, H3K27me3, H3K36me3, H3K4me1, H3K4me2, H3K4me3, H3K9ac, H3K9me3, RAD21, RNAPol2, and RNA.Seq, while the classes are Hubs and Non-Hubs.</p> <p>The cell lines featured here are A549, H1ESC, HeLa, IMR90, K562, and MCF7. They happen to be the 6 cell lines out of 8 existing in our integrative database, GREG (https://doi.org/10.1093/database/baz162). The normalized read-coverages from features (variables) are mapped through genomic intervals of 2 Kbs, genome-wide. Such genomic intervals (bins), are classified as Hubs or Non-Hubs. Home and hub: pet trade and traditional medicine impact reptile populations in source locations and destinations
<p>The pet trade and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) consumption are major drivers of global biodiversity loss. Tokay geckos (<em>Gekko gecko</em>) are among the most traded reptile species worldwide. In Hong Kong, pet and TCM markets sell tokay geckos while wild populations also persist. To clarify connections between trade sources and destinations, we compared genetics and stable isotopes of wild tokays in local and nonlocal populations to dried individuals from TCM markets across Hong Kong. We found that TCM tokays are likely not of local origin. Most wild tokays were related to individuals in South China, indicating a probable natural origin. However, two populations contained individuals more similar to distant populations, indicating pet trade origins. Our results highlight the complexity of wildlife trade impacts within trade hubs. Such trade dynamics complicate local legal regulation when endangered species are protected, but the same species might also be non-native and possibly damaging to the environment.</p>

Offshore wind turbine damage probability maps and hub height TC wind speeds for U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coasts exposed to historical and future tropical cyclones
<p>Damage probability maps for offshore wind turbines exposed to tropical cyclones (TCs) under both historical and future climate scenarios along the U.S. Atlantic and Gulf Coasts are presented in this dataset. TCs are generated using <a href="../records/10392725" target="_blank" rel="noopener">The Risk Analysis Framework for Tropical Cyclones (RAFT)</a>, forced by <a href="https://pcmdi.llnl.gov/CMIP6/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">CMIP6</a> historical and future global climate simulations. Immediate neural impact and incomplete compensation after semantic hub disconnection
<p>Data repository for "Immediate neural impact and incomplete compensation after semantic hub disconnection"</p> <p>Abstract: The human brain extracts meaning using an extensive neural system for semantic knowledge. <br> Whether broadly distributed systems depend on or can compensate after losing a highly interconnected hub is controversial. <br> We report rare intracranial recordings from two patients during a speech prediction task, <br> obtained minutes before and after neurosurgical treatment requiring disconnection of the left anterior temporal lobe (ATL), <br> a candidate semantic knowledge hub. Informed by modern diaschisis and predictive coding frameworks, <br> we tested hypotheses ranging from solely neural network disruption to complete compensation by <br> the indirectly affected language-related and speech processing sites. Immediately after ATL disconnection, <br> we observed substantial neurophysiological alterations in the recorded frontal and auditory sites, <br> providing direct evidence for the importance of the ATL as a semantic hub. We also obtained evidence for rapid, albeit incomplete, <br> attempts at neural network compensation, with neural impact largely in the forms stipulated by the predictive coding framework, <br> in specificity, and the modern diaschisis framework, more generally.
