Data set on corporate image of fast-moving consumer goods concerning cause-related marketing
<p>The dataset consists of Corporate image of fast-moving consumer goods in connection with cause-related marketing.Dataset is based on questionnaire having thirteen five point scale likert scale statements along with the demographic variables. The questionnaire is drafted based on factors contributing to corporate image of fast-moving consumer goods concerning cause-related marketing such as consumer cause identification,Type of cause-related marketing campaigns,Guilt appeal and Inferred motive. The responses of likert scale statements were in the form of 'Strongly Agree', 'Agree', Neutral', 'Disagree', Strongly Disagree', and they were coded as 5,4,3,2,1 respectively for positive statements and 1,2,3,4,5 respectively for negative statements</p>

Data for: "Market Power and Price Exposure: Learning from Changes in Renewable Energy Regulation"
<p>Given the key role of renewable energies in current and future electricity markets, it is important to understand how they affect firms' pricing incentives in these markets. In this paper, we study whether renewables depress electricity market prices, and how this effect depends on their degree of market price exposure. Our theoretical analysis shows that paying renewables with fixed prices, rather than with market-based prices, is relatively more effective at curbing market power when the dominant electricity firms own large shares of the renewable capacity, and <em>vice-versa</em>. To test this prediction, our empirical analysis leverages several short-lived changes to renewable energy pricing mechanisms in the Spanish electricity market. In this context, we find that the switch from full price exposure to fixed prices caused a 2-4% reduction in the average price-cost markup.</p>
Raw and Processed Data of Printed Markets - The Basel Avisblatt (1729-1845)
<p>Switzerland's first advertising journal – the so-called Avisblatt – was published in Basel. It is a typical example of a new market form emerging in 18th century Europe, yet it is also exceptional since all issues from 1729 to 1844/45 are preserved. In the SNF funded research project “Märkte auf Papier” at the University of Basel (PI: Prof. Dr. Susanna Burghartz), this serial source has been digitized and used to investigate economic, social and societal transformations of the early capitalist period in Basel. A database of all adverts and announcements was created, totalling 932’000 records and providing different sorts of metadata for each advert. The dataset is made avaiable combined with analytical tools.</p> <ul> <li>first official, public release</li> <li>raw (OCR'd) data, collections (data and meta data) and aggregated tables</li> <li>read and process conveniently with the avisblatt R package</li> </ul>
Coastal SEES Collaborative Research: Non-Market Value Meta-Data on Willingness to Pay for Coastal Marsh Habitat Change
These data represent a meta-dataset of observations on per household economic value - represented by per household willingness-to-pay (WTP) - for improvements in coastal marsh habitat, drawn from stated-preference studies in the research literature. The metadata allow estimation of benefit transfer functions via meta-regression modeling. Within these econometric functions, the dependent variable is a comparable estimate of economic value (e.g., WTP) drawn from extant primary valuation studies. Independent variables represent observable factors hypothesized to explain variation in this value measure across observations. These functions can be used to produce out-of-sample predictions of WTP for coastal marsh habitat improvements at sites for which no primary valuation studies have been conducted. They can also be used to understand the factors associated with systematic variations in marsh habitat values across different sites and studies. These data are described in Vedogbeton, H. and R.J. Johnston. 2020. Commodity Consistent Meta-Analysis of Wetland Values: An Illustration for Coastal Marsh Habitat. Environmental and Resource Economics 75(4), 835-865, and allow replication of the results presented therein. The metadata are extracted from primary studies that estimate total (use and nonuse) per household WTP for changes in the quantity or quality of coastal marsh wildlife habitats or their services, in US and Canada. These studies were identified via a systematic review of the literature. The metadata combine information provided by these primary non-market valuation studies with publicly available external data extracted from sources such as the US Census, US National Historical GIS (https://www.nhgis.org/), and US Fish and Wildlife Service National Wetlands Inventory (https://www.fws.gov/wetlands/Data/Mapper.html). Studies included in the metadata are restricted to those that estimate total per household WTP for coastal wetland habitat changes using generally acce

Data from: Pollination treatment affects fruit set and modifies marketable and storable fruit quality of commercial apples
Insect-mediated pollination increases yields of many crop species and some evidence suggests that it also influences crop quality. However, the mechanistic linkages between insect-mediated pollination and crop quality are poorly known. In this study, we explored how different pollination treatments affected fruit set, dry matter content (DMC), mineral content and storability of apples. Apple flowers supplementary pollinated with compatible pollen resulted in higher initial fruit set rates, higher fruit DMC and a tendency for lower fruit K:Ca ratio than flowers that received natural or no pollination. These variables are related to desirable quality aspects, since higher DMC is connected to higher consumer preference and lower K:Ca ratio is related to lower incidence of postharvest disorders during storage. Using structural equation modelling, we showed an indirect effect of pollination treatment on storability, however mediated by complex interactions between fruit set, fruit weight and K:Ca ratio. The concentrations of several elements in apples (K, Zn, Mg) were affected by the interaction between pollination treatment and apple weight, indicating that pollination affects element allocation into fruits. In conclusion, our study shows that pollination and the availability of compatible pollen needs to be considered in the management of orchard systems, not only to increase fruit set, but also to increase the quality and potentially the storability of apples.

EU- Level Survey Data on Potential of Bioenergy Market Uptake - BECoop project
<p><strong><em>Activity Description:</em></strong><br> In this initiative, a quantivie online survey was distributed via Social Media, email, and other communication channels (i.e. WhatsApp), with the aim of accumulating 500 responses. The survey was specifically directed towards RESCoop members, authorities, and policymakers across Europe.</p> <p><strong><em>Purpose of the Surveys:</em></strong></p> <p>A comprehensive survey was crafted with the primary purpose of gathering insights conserning mainly the potential expansion of the bioenergy market within RESCoops. </p> <p>To ensure effective communication with the target audience, the questionnaire was initially developed in English, and the project partners collaborated to translate it into the six languages of the consortium: French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, and Spanish. This multilingual approach played a significant role in facilitating engagement.</p> <p>The translated survey was then administered online through a GDPR-compliant EU survey platform. Led by the pilot teams the survey's dissemination efforts acitively engaged the target audience, both within their respective regions and other european countries. The survey promotion phase spanned from February to May 2021, leveraging the extensive networks, social media accounts, websites, and communication channels of the BECoop project. The survey remained open until the end of the project.</p> <p>This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement no. 952930.</p>
Data for: Does capital account liberalization drive the systemic importance of mainland China stock market? A network perspective
<p>Even though Chinese government has launched a series of capital account liberalization schemes to promote the systemic importance of mainland China stock market, the mainland China market still remains relatively marginal in the global stock markets, that is, China’s capital account liberalization does not seem to work as expected. This paper measures the systemic importance of mainland China stock market based on dynamic tail correlation networks, and further analyzes the impact of China’s capital account liberalization on it. Empirical results manifest that, capital account liberalization indeed contributes to improving the systemic importance of mainland China stock market. Besides, the systemic importance is also significantly and positively affected by economic policy uncertainty and direct investment. More specially, investor sentiment in mainland China stock market has the apparent impact on systemic importance only when extreme events occur.</p>
