Evaluation of the saturator efficiency of the low frost-point generator INRIM 03 Mark 1

<p>These datasets refers to the evaluation of the&nbsp;saturator efficiency of the low frost-point generator INRIM 03 developed at the Istituto Nazionale di Ricerca Metrologica. Alternating the inlet gas&nbsp;between a dry source and a moist gas source is it possible to&nbsp; test the capability of the generator to saturate the carrier gas (or&nbsp;condensate the excess water) at the corresponding saturation<br>temperature.</p> <p>This work has been carried out within the European Metrology&nbsp;Programme for Innovation and Research (EMPIR) Project&nbsp;&lsquo;PROMETH2O&mdash;Metrology for trace water in ultra-pure process&nbsp;gases&rsquo;.<br>This project (Grant No. 20IND06 PROMETH2O) has&nbsp;received funding from the EMPIR programme co-financed&nbsp;by the Participating States and from the European Union&rsquo;s&nbsp;Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme.</p>

Data associated with the manuscript: Andean bear tree selectivity for scent-marking in Ecuadorian cloud forests

<p>This is the original version of data used for the manuscript, <em>Andean bear tree selectivity for scent-marking in Ecuadorian cloud forests</em>. The data are in four files following the numerical order and titles of the Results section in the manuscript, i.e. <em>1_PCA.csv</em>, <em>2_Modeling tree selection at the individual-tee level.csv</em>, <em>3_Modeling tree selection on a local spatial scale.csv</em>, <em>4_Modeling formation of marked-tree cluster sites.csv. We used these datasets for our analysis in the program R, the details are provided in the Methods section. </em><span>Our field work was performed in compliance with the Framework Agreement for access to genetic resources called "Biodiversity Study of Ecuador '' made between the Ecuadorian Ministry of Environment and the UTPL. The code for the Agreement is MAE-DNB-CM-2015-0016-M-0002. The research was funded by Bears in Mind, International Association for Bear Research and Management, the Faculty of Environmental Sciences of Czech University of Life Sciences in Prague, National Geographic Society, Nature and Culture International, GIZ Ecuador, and Trailcampro.&nbsp;</span></p>

RoadArrowORIEN: dataset of 6701 images (64x64 pixels) of straight arrow-type road markings and their azimuths

<p>The dataset consisting of 6701 PNG images (64x64 pixels) of straight arrow type road markings with different dimensions and orientations, together with the angle it forms with respect to the vertical axis (azimuth), has been constructed in the framework of the SROADEX project to train a regression neural network to calculate the azimuth of other straight arrows that can be identified in high resolution aerial orthoimages.</p> <p>The dataset was created by labeling with the labelme tool the straight arrows on orthoimage tesserae of 256x256 pixels. After semantic labeling by drawing an arrow on the orthoimage, the data was automatically processed to calculate the azimuthal angle. The procedure followed is as follows:<br> 1.- The vertices of the generated arrow-shaped polygon have been extracted.<br> 2.- Clusters of nearby points have been generated, with a minimum of 2 points and the cluster with less points and the one with more points has been identified.&nbsp;<br> 3.- For the clusters, the centroid has been generated, preserving the information of the number of vertices that define the cluster.<br> 4.- Then a vector has been generated with origin in the centroid of the arrow with less vertices grouped and as end the centroid with the highest number of vertices.<br> 5.- Finally, the azimuth of this vector with respect to the ordinate axis has been calculated,&nbsp;<br> The images have been automatically cropped with a constant size of 64x64 pixels taking an extension greater than the occupied of the arrow in the scene.</p> <p>The shared dataset consists of a compressed file with the images and a text file in CSV format with the names of the images and the normaliced [0..1] Azimutal angles of the straight arrows contained in the images.</p>

Plethodon hybrid zone capture-mark-recapture survey plots at the Coweeta Hyrdologic Laboratory, Otto, NC.

A major goal of the Coweeta LTER is to understand the interactions between climate and land use on the ecology of southern Appalachia biota. Southern Appalachia is the global hotspot for salamander diversity, with most of that diversity situated at mid and upper elevations of mountains where species are functionally trapped by their dependence of a narrow, cool climatic zone. The ranges of the two terrestrial salamander species, Plethodon teyahalee (southern Appalachian salamander) and Plethodon shermani (red-legged salamander) meet at a unique hybrid zone at the Coweeta LTER in Macon County, NC. The hybrid zone is unique because it appears to be shifting up in elevation, possibly due to climate change. This research will be situated in the hybrid zone of these two species to assess the differential effects of climate change and land use on both species. To evaluate the effects of climate on the local ecology of salamanders, we will conduct an intensive mark-recapture study to measure surface activity on 6 plots distributed in pairs at 3 elevations that provide a range of warmer to cooler climates. Every two weeks, each plot is searched for 30 min by two investigators using head lamps. Animals are hand captured, identified to species, scored for color and patterning, measured, and marked using a unique combination of visible implant elastomers (VIE). This will enable us to estimate individual capture probabilities and rates of temporary surface emigration (an indication of avoidance of climatically unsuitable conditions).

Telemetry mark-recapture data of the Northern Spring Salamander (Gyrinophilus porphyriticus), Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, 2019 – 2021

This data set includes spatially explicit mark-recapture data of the Northern Spring Salamander (Gyrinophilus porphyriticus) collected via telemetry during the summer months (June – September) from 2019 - 2021 from eight reaches in multiple streams in the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest. Salamanders were captured by hand and marked with PIT-tags. Telemetry surveys occurred weekly. These data were gathered as part of the Hubbard Brook Ecosystem Study (HBES). The HBES is a collaborative effort at the Hubbard Brook Experimental Forest, which is operated and maintained by the USDA Forest Service, Northern Research Station. These data are being used to publish the following papers: Cochrane, M. M., B. R. Addis, L. K. Swartz, and W. H. Lowe. 2023. Anole Mark and Resight Study

The population distribution research area of the LEF LTER is designed to gather information on the distribution and abundance of key plant and animal species within the forest under different disturbance regimes. Multiple mark and resight studies were conducted to determine the population density of Anolis stratulus at one undisturbed forest site and one site in a partially regenerated treefall gap. Tower surveys were conducted in order to access individuals in the forest canopy.&lt;/p&gt; Support for this work was provided by grants BSR-8811902, DEB-9411973, DEB-9705814 , DEB-0080538, DEB-0218039 , DEB-0620910 , DEB-1239764, DEB-1546686, and DEB-1831952 from the National Science Foundation to the University of Puerto Rico as part of the Luquillo Long-Term Ecological Research Program. KSPU Moodle activities and marks 2020-2022

<p>Kryvyi Rih State Pedagogical University (KDPU/KSPU) data were collected. The collection and digitization of student performance data across all university specialities for the 2020-2021 (winter and summer sessions) and 2021-2022 (winter session) academic years were approved by the KSPU rector's decision and the university's ethical committee on January 26, 2024.</p> <p>The Course module instances report plugin was used to export a spreadsheet with the course data:</p> <ul> <li><em>Course name</em> - the original course title from the KSPU Moodle site (https://moodle.kdpu.edu.ua);</li> <li><em>Course ID</em> - unique number (3..10062) identified the course; it can be useful for courses with identical titles;</li> <li><em>Root category</em> - the course root category used in KSPU. Each category has been encoded with a unique number as follows:&nbsp;<br>1. Природничий факультет&nbsp;<br>2. Психолого-педагогічний факультет<br>3. Факультет географії, туризму та історії<br>4. Факультет педагогічної освіти<br>5. Факультет іноземних мов<br>6. Факультет мистецтв<br>7. Факультет української філології<br>8. Фізико-математичний факультет<br>9. After receiving the list of all courses, courses with a non-educational purpose (surveys, service, etc.) and courses taught in graduate school were removed from the general list. The total number of records after removal is 17985.</p> <p>The new spreadsheet was built based on the exported, non-removed data. It contains 3600 courses. The information block was also added (the data were extracted manually from the course annotations in Moodle), including the form of education, educational level, semester, status, and number of teachers.</p> <p>After that, the relevant courses with student grades were filled in. After this process was completed, the number of courses was reduced to 985, as new courses not taught from 2020 to 2022 were excluded.
