<p>This is associated data for the study "<strong>Rock abundance on the lunar mare on surfaces of different age: Implications for regolith evolution and thickness </strong>" in GRL.</p> <p>The zipfile FT2014-Dense50kmN-n800mto5km.tif.zip is a raster of neighborhood crater frequencies from Fassett and Thomson 2014 (JGR) that are used for the age information in this paper. </p> <p>The csv file is the extracted rock abundance for every frequency pixel in this dataset. </p> <p>A github software release associated with the paper is also available on <a href="https://zenodo.org/badge/latestdoi/417542233">as a Zenodo software repository</a>, as well as on <a href="https://github.com/cfassett/MareRockAbundances">Github</a>.</p>
Archive Documents Covering Rhode Island Coastal Flood Protection (1954-2002)
<p>This is a repository of nearly 2000 primary and secondary documents covering the politics of coastal flood protection infrastructure projects form the 1950s through the end of the 20th century. Nearly all documents are from the 1950s and 1960s. They are in the form of mostly scans and photos and were collected from public and private archives between September and November 2019.</p> <p> </p> <p>Documents include internal memos, project-related materials, and newspaper clippings from the New England District of the USACE archived at the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration facility (Waltham, Massachusetts), personal papers from Congressman John E. Fogarty, Senator John Pastore, and Governor Dennis J. Roberts archived at Providence College, over three decades of newspaper articles on microfilm from the Providence Journal and Evening Bulletin archived at both the Rhode Island Historical Society and the Providence Public Library, and additional materials associated with the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier at the Providence City Archive (all Providence, Rhode Island).</p> <p> </p> <p>A selection of documents from this repository were used to reconstruct event sequences associated with the Fox Point Hurricane Barrier in Providence Rhode Island and the proposed (but never built) Narragansett Bay Hurricane Barrier.</p> <p> </p> <p>This selection of documents is in an organized folder tree, entitled "Rasmussen2022" and is used to support the arguments in a climate change adaptation study. As of February 2022, the study is under review with the Journal of Water Resources Policy and Management, "Coastal defense megaprojects in an era of sea-level rise: politically feasible strategies or Army Corps fantasies?", by D.J. Rasmussen, Robert E. Kopp, and Michael Oppenheimer.</p>
Archived data for: Balancing selection, genetic drift, and human mediated-introgression interplay to shape MHC (functional) diversity in Mediterranean brown trout
<p>The extraordinary polymorphism of Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) genes is considered a paradigm of pathogen-mediated balancing selection, although empirical evidence is still scarce. Furthermore, the relative contribution of balancing selection to shape MHC population structure and diversity, compared to that of neutral forces, as well as its interaction with other evolutionary processes such as hybridization, remains largely unclear. To investigate these issues, we analysed adaptive (MHC-DAB gene) and neutral (11 microsatellite loci) variation in 156 brown trout (<i>Salmo trutta </i>complex) from six wild populations in central Italy exposed to introgression from domestic hatchery lineages (assessed with the LDH gene). MHC diversity and structuring correlated with those at microsatellites, indicating the substantial role of neutral forces. However, individuals carrying locally rare MHC alleles/supertypes (regardless of the zygosity status and degree of sequence dissimilarity of MHC) were in better body condition (a proxy of individual fitness/parasite load), hence supporting balancing selection under rare allele advantage, but not heterozygote advantage or divergent allele advantage. The association between specific MHC supertypes and body condition confirmed in part this finding. Across populations, MHC allelic richness increased with increasing admixture between native and domestic lineages, indicating introgression as a source of MHC variation. Furthermore, introgression across populations appeared more pronounced for MHC than microsatellites, possibly because initially-rare MHC variants are expected to introgress more readily under rare allele advantage. Providing evidence for the complex interplay among neutral evolutionary forces, balancing selection and human-mediated introgression in shaping the pattern of MHC (functional) variation, our findings contribute to a deeper understanding of the evolution of MHC genes in wild populations exposed to anthropogenic disturbance.</p>

Each sheet provides model results that fit a specified crustal thickness at the InSight landing site. Summarized parameters include: the name of the interior model for the mantle and core, the density of the crust, the density of the upper mantle, the predicted crustal thickness beneath the InSight landing site, the average crustal thickness of the model, the minimum thickness of the model, the maximum thickness of the model, the average crustal thickness south of the dichotomy boundary, the average crustal thickness north of the dichotomy boundary, the average crustal thickness in the Tharsis province, the average crustal thickness south of the dichotomy boundary (excluding the Tharsis province), and the average crustal thickness north of the dichotomy boundary (excluding the Tharsis province). The first sheet summarizes a few of the main characteristics of the models.</p> <p><strong>dichotomy-summary.xlsx</strong><br> Same as for constant-density-summary.xlsx, but for the models that consider different densities north and south of the dichotomy boundary.</p> <p><strong>make-grids.py</strong><br> A python script that reads the spherical harmonic coefficients in the directories "constant" and "dichotomy" and creates grids of the planetary shape, the crust-mantle interface, and the crustal thickness. This script makes use of the file "dichotomy_coordinates-JAH-0-360.txt", which is a list of (longitude, latitude) coordinates of the dichotomy boundary from Andrews-Hanna et al. (2008).</p> <p><strong>constant/</strong><br> Spherical harmonic coefficients of the shape of the crust-mantle interface. The file names are of the format "Moho-Mars-MODEL-THICK-RHO.sh", where MODEL is the assumed interior model used for the mantle and core, THICK is the assumed seismic thickness at the InSight landing site, and RHO is the density of the crust.</p> <p><strong>dichotomy/</strong><br> Spherical harmonic coefficients of the shape of the crust-mantle interface. The file names are of the format "Moho-Mars-MODEL-THICK-RHOS-RHON.sh", where RHOS and RHON are respectively the densities south and north of the dichotomy boundary. When RHOS and RHON are equal, the model corresponds to the constant density model in the directory "constant" (note that the numerical values are not identical as a result of using two different numerical approaches).</p> <p><strong>grids/</strong><br> Gridded output files generated by the script "make-grids.py" are placed in this directory. The file names are of the format "Mars-KIND-MODEL-THICK-RHOS-RHON", where KIND is either "shape" for the radius of the surface, "moho" for the radius of the crust-mantle interface, or "thick" for the crustal thickness. Filenames with the extension "dat" are in an ascii raster format with the first and last data points (in units of km) corresponding to (90 N, 0 E) and (90 S, 360 E), respectively. Filenames with the extension "xyz" are lists of (latitude, longitude, value, density), where latitude and longitude are in degrees, value is in km, and density is in kg/m3.</p> <p>The grids directory contains the precomputed data used to create Figures 2 and 5 in the manuscript. For these files, the grid spacing in both latitude and longitude is 0.25 degrees. For the ascii raster files, the number of lines (latitudes) is 721, and the number of elements (longitudes) in each line is 1441.</p> <p> </p>
