Optical Coherence Tomography Angiography-OCTA Dataset for Detection of Diabetic Retinopathy
<p>This dataset consists of 268 OCTA images acquired on Optovue Avanti Edition for 179 patients. Out of 262, 133 are left-eye images and 135 are right-eye images. The acquisition is done at Natasha Eye Care and Research Institute, Pimple Saudager Pune. This dataset is curated for early detection of Diabetic Retinopathy and contains three categories of data viz NO_DR, Mild_DR, and Moderate_DR.</p>
The effect of intravitreal triamcinolone injection at the end of phacoemulsification surgery on central macular thickness and diabetic retinopathy progression
<p><strong>Purpose: </strong>To compare the efficacy of intraoperative intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide with standard phacoemulsification on the central subfield macular thickness CSMT, distance corrected visual acuity CDVA, and the progression of diabetic retinopathy in diabetic patients.</p> <p><strong>Setting: </strong>Al Mouassat university hospital, Damascus University, Damascus, Syria.</p> <p><strong>Methods</strong>: In this prospective single-blinded randomized clinical trial, 50 patients with type 2 diabetes were randomly assigned to one group. The case received an intravitreal injection of triamcinolone acetonide IVTA at the end of phacoemulsification surgery, and the control had routine phacoemulsification surgery without any injection. Central subfield macular thickness CSMT, the progression of diabetic retinopathy DR, corrected distant visual acuity CDVA, intraocular pressure IOP, and adverse events like endophthalmitis, were compared between the 2 groups 1, 3, and 6 months postoperatively. CDVA and IOP were compared at one-week post-op as well.</p>
Fundus dataset for detection of Diabetic Retinopathy
<p><span>Fundus images with dimensions 3680x3288 collected at Natasha Eye Care and Research Institute in Pune, Maharashtra, India. The Symbiosis Institutional Ethics Committee (BHR) SIU granted authorization for the project under approval code SIU/IEC/583. The images were captured using a nonmydriatic as per the protocol, and Fundus images using an Eidon machine. A Fundus scan requires 1-2 minutes if the patient is cooperative. Two ophthalmologists then annotated the images. ETDRS scale is used for the classification of images. A signed consent form was given by every patient. This dataset can be used by researchers and doctors to develop automated diagnostic tools for early detection of diabetic retinopathy (DR). </span></p> <p> </p>
