Spatio-Temporal Activity Data Across Professional Classes in Kandy, Sri Lanka
<h1>Overview</h1> <p>This dataset includes motion data from 100 people in Kandy District, Sri Lanka, collected over approximately 21 days from 13 different professional categories using GPS tracking. The GPS coordinates are clustered and presented as location strings, which show each person's visited locations along with timestamps recorded every minute. Spatio-temporally resolved water sorption experiment into a pre-dried cement paste using GARField NMR
<p>Sample predried at 60C in 0.5 MPa vacuum for one day. After drying the sample is re-saturated in lime solution for one day. The drying re-wetting is repeated 3 times. The 3rd re-wetting is measured with GARField NMR at 0, 600 and 900 um below the wetting surface for approximately 2 days.</p>

Spatio-temporal analysis of glacial lakes from 1990 to 2018 in the Kashmir Himalaya, India using geospatial technology
<p>The glacial lakes were identified, delineated, and mapped to observe changes in spatial extent using multi-date/multi-sensor remote sensing data and adequately supplemented by field studies. Landsat imageries were used to delineate the spatial extent of glacial lakes for four time points i.e., 1990, 2000, 2010 and 2018. The total count of lakes as well as their spatial extent showed a discernible increase. The number has increased from 253 in 1990 to 322 in 2018 with a growth rate of 21.4 percent. The area has increased from 18.84 Km<sup>2 </sup>in 1990 to 22.11 Km<sup>2</sup> in 2018 with a growth rate of 14.7 percent. The newly formed glacial lakes including supra glacial lakes were greater in number than the lakes that have disappeared over the study period. All glacial lakes are situated at an elevation of 2700 m asl and 4500 m asl. More than 78 percent of lake expansion in the study region consists largely due to growth of existing glacial lakes. Through the area change analysis, our findings reveal that certain lakes show rapid expansion needing immediate monitoring and observation. In addition to climate variability, the presence of increasing quantities of light trapping particles could be possible causes for expanding of lakes in the Himalayas. Consequently, this study could play a significant role in devising a comprehensive risk assessment plan of potential GLOFs and develop a mechanism for continuous monitoring and management of lakes in the study region.</p>
Anthropogenic effects on spatio-temporal coexistence of a carnivore guild in the Maya Biosphere Reserve
<p>Most carnivores adapt their spatio-temporal pattens to avoid humans and limit interspecific competition. Species that differ in their temporal activity patterns or that segregate spatially are less likely to engage in direct competition. However, interspecific interactions are context-dependent and research has shown that anthropogenic activities are often the leading factor affecting ecological context. We used camera trap data from four study sites in the Maya Biosphere Reserve in Guatemala which ranged from low to high levels of anthropogenic activities from 11,011 trap/nights at 121 sites to compare the spatio-temporal patterns among jaguars (<em>Panthera onca</em>), pumas (<em>Puma concolor</em>), ocelots (<em>Leopardus pardalis</em>), and gray foxes (<em>Urocyon cinereoargenteus</em>). We performed a quantitative analysis by doing a temporal selection function to model the effects of human activities on diel behavior and a qualitative analysis to graphically inspect activity patterns among all four species across all study sites. Jaguars and pumas increased their nocturnality in areas with low-medium and medium levels of anthropogenic activities, whereas gray foxes decreased their nocturnality in areas with higher anthropogenic activities and human presence. Ocelots where the only species that remained nocturnal throughout all study sites. The study site with high anthropogenic activities showed that gray foxes segregated temporally with ocelots with a temporal overlap of Δ<sub>4</sub> = 0.45 which was different from the one in areas with low activity (Δ<sub>4</sub> = 0.65). Our findings show that carnivores modified their nocturnality in areas with higher anthropogenic disturbance and that their spatio-temporal patterns are context-and species- dependent.</p>
