Daily location data for pronghorn collared on the Modoc Plateau, CA

<p>The data set contains the average daily location of pronghorn collared on the Modoc Plateau in northern California. The location data represent the average UTM easting and northing of all locations recorded for each animal on a given day. Locations were recorded every 1-6 hours. All data points were collected in North American UTM zone 10.</p> <p>There are 8 columns of data:</p> <p>Pronghorn.ID: Unique identifier for each individual pronghorn. First letter corresponds to the animal&#39;s sex (F=female, M=male).</p> <p>day.ave.Easting: the average UTM Easting value of all GPS locations recorded for the day.</p> <p>day.ave.Northing:the average UTM Northing value of all GPS locations recorded for the day.</p> <p>Year: The year data point was collected.</p> <p>Month: The month data point was collected.</p> <p>week: The week of the year that the data point was collected.</p> <p>Day: Day of the month the data point was collected.</p> <p>post.capt: Number of days since the animal was captured and collared.</p> <p>day.ave.Easting: the average UTM Easting value of all GPS locations recorded for the day. Global Dam Tracker: A database of more than 35,000 dams with location, catchment, and attribute information

The Global Dam Tracker (GDAT) contains 35,000 dams with cross-validated geo-coordinates, satellite-derived catchment areas, and detailed attribute information. Combining GDAT with fine-scaled satellite data spanning three decades, we demonstrate how GDAT improves upon existing databases to enable the inter-temporal analysis of the costs and benefits of dam construction on a global scale. Our findings show that over the past three decades, dams have contributed to a dramatic increase in global surface water coverage, especially in developing countries in Asia and South America. This is an important step toward a more systematic understanding of the worldwide impact of dams on local communities. By filling in the data gap, GDAT would help inform a more sustainable and equitable approach to energy access and economic development.</p>

Locating undocumented orphaned oil and gas wells with smartphones

<p>Majority of the estimated 3 million abandoned oil and gas wells in the U.S. have missing documents and lack surface equipment making them difficult to locate. However, most of them have casings made of iron alloys which are magnetic and can be sensed by magnetometers. Here we utilize an iPhone 12 mini smartphone as a magnetometer to locate two abandoned wells. We designed a simple unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) survey setup where the iPhone 12 mini was hung from an inexpensive small drone. We surveyed the two sites by flying the drone at altitudes, 10 m, 15 m, and 20 m above ground level. Our results show that at altitude of 10 magl the smartphone magnetometer could pick the magnetic anomaly of either of the wells at intensities &ge; 52 &mu;T; sufficient to accurately locate the wells. At altitude of 15 magl the smartphone could locate the wells within ~5 m radius of the actual wells&rsquo; location, and it was unable to detect any magnetic anomalies at 20 magl. Simplicity of the setup, minimal required scientific knowledge and low cost of the setup makes this setup an ideal tool for locating orphaned wells by citizen scientists.</p>

DATA7: A dataset that uses synthetic trajectories of vehicles and real cellular tower locations to simulate the workload of Edge nodes in the city of Pisa

<p><strong>Description</strong></p> <p>The dataset contains observations of vehicles in the range of edge nodes (cellular towers). The trajectories of vehicles are synthetically generated with <a href="https://www.eclipse.org/sumo/">SUMO</a>. The cellular tower positions have been taken from <a href="https://opencellid.org/">OpenCelliD</a>. The dataset is in the comma-separated values (CSV) format, and is around 220MB decompressed.</p> <p><br> The CSV contains the following fields:<br> * edge_id: unique identifier of the edge devices<br> * edge_lat: latitude coordinate of the edge device<br> * edge_lon: longitude coordinate of the edge device<br> * time: simulation step of the observation<br> * vehicle_id: unique identifier of the vehicle<br> * vehicle_lat: latitude coordinate of the vehicle<br> * vehicle_lon: longitude coordinate of the vehicle<br> * distance: geodesic distance in meters from the vehicle and the edge device</p>

Consensual videos of potentially re-identifiable individuals recorded at the Autonomous Driving Test Area Baden-Württemberg (raw images with location and IMU data).

<p>For the purpose of research on data intermediaries and data anonymisation, it is necessary to test these processes with realistic video data containing personal data. For this purpose, the <a href="http://treumoda.de">Treumoda</a> project, funded by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), has created a dataset of different traffic scenes containing identifiable persons.</p> <p>This video data was collected at the <a href="https://taf-bw.de/">Autonomous Driving Test Area Baden-W&uuml;rttemberg</a>. On the one hand, it should be possible to recognise people in traffic, including their line of sight. On the other hand, it should be usable for the demonstration and evaluation of anonymisation techniques.</p> <p><strong>The legal basis for the publication of this data set the consent given by the participants as documented in the file Consent.pdf (all purposes) in accordance with Art. 6 1 (a) and Art. 9 2 (a) GDPR. Any further processing is subject to the GDPR.</strong></p> <p>We make this dataset available for non-commercial purposes such as teaching, research and scientific communication. Please note that this licence is limited by the provisions of the GDPR. Anyone downloading this data will become an independent controller of the data. This data has been collected with the consent of the identifiable individuals depicted.</p> <p>Any consensual use must take into account the purposes mentioned in the uploaded consent forms and in the privacy terms and conditions provided to the participants (see Consent.pdf). Locations of dog waste bins in Zagreb, Croatia

<p>Locations of dog waste bins (point vector layer), dog parks, and green areas for walking dogs off-leash (both polygon vector layers)&nbsp;in the city of Zagreb were collected during the field survey in 2020 based on available government sources. The upload consists of .shp, .geojson, and .csv files for the point vector layer and .shp and .geojson files for polygon vector layers. The CRS for all layers is WGS84 (EPSG:4326).</p>

Supplementary data of article Integrating Data-Driven and Hydraulic Modelling with Acoustic Sensor Information for Improved Leak Location in Water Distribution Networks

<p>This dataset was generated within the research&nbsp;thesis of Axel Hutomo, under the supervision of Leonardo Alfonso and Ioana Popescu at IHE Delft, and it is published as supplementary data for the article <em>Integrating Data-Driven and Hydraulic Modelling with Acoustic Sensor Information for Improved Leak Location in Water Distribution Networks, </em>currently under review.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Excel sheet provides information about the datasets produced to integrate&nbsp;acoustic sensor data and hydraulic&nbsp;model output data, to be used by&nbsp;the Machine Learning model.&nbsp;The acoustic sensor data were obtained by extracting several features in&nbsp;time and frequency domains from each audio file coming from acoustic sensors, whereas hydraulic model data was obtained by modelling these leaks using a pressure-independent analysis.</p> <p>The Python code shows the building of the ANN for leakage modelling prediction, integrating the two datasets above, for different leak rates.</p>

Resting-state fMRI data for locating causal hubs of memory consolidation in spontaneous brain network

<p>The mouse fMRI data for the paper &quot;<strong>Locating causal hubs of memory consolidation in spontaneous brain network in male mice</strong>&quot;<strong>&nbsp;</strong>published in <strong>Nature Communications </strong>(DOI:&nbsp;10.1038/s41467-023-41024-z)<strong>. </strong>This includes&nbsp;longitudinal resting-state fMRI data in mice after behavioural training for 1-Day or 5-Day Active Place Avoidance (APA) task, acquired at post-training day 1 and day 8. Due to the large datasets, each group has been packed into several 2GB zip files.&nbsp;They need to be downloaded into the same folder and unpacked together (e.g. 1-Day APA Post training day 1 has five&nbsp;zip files starting&nbsp;with &quot;1DAPA_PostDay1&quot;).&nbsp;The structural and EPI templates and the ROI labels in the AMBMC atlas space are provided in the AMBMC_label.zip.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p>

"I'm something of an untrained, unofficial cultural anthropologist myself. Ihave a business interviewing people to capture their personal histories. I'm always interested how people fit into their world and how they affect their world. I'm a graphic designer who works in the same building as the printing presses that I recorded. Iwalk past the presses every day on my way to talk to the folks in the prepress department. I'm on friendly but not drinking terms with the pressmen. I'm a friend with the prepress manager. Three Heidelberg presses are installed side by side in an open warehouse-like room. The presses are about twenty feet long and about five feet high. With their series of four humps or mounds where each printing cylinder is located, the presses remind one of giant, gray, mechanical caterpillars. Each press has a cyan cylinder, a magenta cylinder, a yellow cylinder and a black cylinder – so the humps are brightly colored. The presses are well lit by banks of fluorescent lights hanging from the ceiling over each press. When you walk into the press room you hear the sound of rock music blaring from a boom box radio mixed with the general din of the presses. It is only when you walk up to a press like Idid for the recordings that you really start to hear the individual strains of clicking, clacking and mechanical, syncopated chattering. When I made my recordings I was intrigued by the subtle variations in the sounds produced by these machines that aren't apparent when you first walk through the door. The pressmen were kind enough to allow me to walk right up to the presses and poke my microphone quite close to the rotating press cylinders. Iuse a Danish Pro Audio microphone about the size of a pencil eraser. An extremely sensitive mic with the capacity for capturing loud sounds such as the presses up close.
