Data set for phase-field studies of K-feldspar dissolution through etch-pit formation

The numerical data in this repository consists of the simulation data of K-feldspar dissolution through etch-pit formation. The simulations were performed using the software package named "Pace3D".

The data is organized, the way it appears in the figures (only, those figures, where simulation data is rquired) in the manuscript and the folders are named accordingly.

The intermediate growth stage simulation data were translated from Pace3D output data format to VTK data format. Using open-source software tools such as Paraview, the VTK files can be examined. Each subfolder's data files are likewise compressed (*.gz file extension). Data must be decompressed for visualization (e.g. with gzip, 7zip).

Konsulivske Hillfort — Pit No. 1/2018 (trench 4)

The pit discovered near on of the dwellings of Konsulivske Hillfort excavated during 2018 field season. It contained a number of bones and pottery framgents. The shape of a pit was reconstructed using SfM-photogrammetry (148 images) for further volume calculation. The images reference has been made using a shape of standart A4 sheet of paper as a reference contour. An estimated volume of the pit is 1448 litres. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Wheel Pit

A wheel pit excavated in Monmouthshire as part of an industrial complex although its primary purpose is as yet unknown. This wheel pit appears to have been used in two phases with evidence of a wall collapse leading to the construction of the recessed wall. The wheel pit began to go out use in the 1700s and was deliberately infilled. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Konsulivske Hillfort — Pit No. 5 profile / 2018

The pit discovered near on of the dwellings of Konsulivske Hillfort excavated during 2018 field season (trench 4). It contained a number of bones and pottery framgents and vessels. The profile has been reconstructed from SfM-photogrammetry (44 images) This has been complicated due to the lack of space in the pit, however, such a workflow reveals additional opportunities in the analysis of profile, stratigraphy and pit's refill process.
