DYNAMIC PRICING IN FINANCIAL TECHNOLOGY: EVALUATING MACHINE LEARNING SOLUTIONS FOR MARKET ADAPTABILITY

The rapid advancement of technology has transformed the financial services sector, leading to the rise of fintech companies that leverage cutting-edge tools such as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to offer innovative solutions. One area where fintech is particularly impactful is dynamic pricing, which involves adjusting prices in real-time based on market conditions, user behavior, and external factors. The ability to optimize pricing in response to fluctuating conditions is critical for maximizing profitability, improving customer satisfaction, and maintaining competitiveness. In this context, machine learning algorithms provide a powerful framework for making data-driven pricing decisions by learning from historical data and predicting future trends.

Amplifying Customer's Motivation Through Marketing Activities to Increase Purchase Intention in Social Commerce

As information technology keeps evolving, social commerce has become a common alternative for Indonesians to purchase products online. Social commerce successfully facilitates social interactions between customers and business actors on one platform, combining the idea of social network sites and electronic commerce (e-commerce). The problem is that social commerce provides users with an effortless way to compare one product to another, leading to another challenge for businesses to compete with competitors. Hence, this research aims to identify how to amplify customers’ motivation when they see any product marketing activities in social commerce and how that motivation can increase their purchase intention towards the product. The method used in this study is Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) PLS with the purposive sampling method for primary data collection. The data were taken from social commerce users who have seen any product marketing labeled content. The primary data of 169 respondents were collected from April to September 2024 from the people who live in Indonesia. The result shows that all of the seven hypotheses are accepted.

GO-TO-MARKET STRATEGIES FOR CONSUMER TECHNOLOGICAL PRODUCTS WITH SUBSCRIPTION MONETIZATION MODEL

This study examines go-to-market (GTM) strategies for consumer technological products utilizing subscription monetization models. As the digital landscape evolves, businesses are increasingly adopting subscription-based approaches to generate recurring revenue and establish long-term customer relationships. Our research investigates the key components of successful GTM strategies in this context, focusing on market segmentation, value proposition development, pricing strategies, distribution channel selection, and customer acquisition and retention tactics. Through a comprehensive analysis of scientific papers, industry reports, and case studies, we identify best practices and trends in subscription-based GTM strategies for consumer tech products. Our findings highlight the importance of market segmentation, value proposition development, pricing strategies, marketing and communication, customer acquisition and retention practices in optimizing customer lifetime value. This study contributes to the growing body of literature on subscription business models and provides practical insights for managers and entrepreneurs in the consumer tech industry.

Data from: Market forces influence helping behaviour in cooperatively breeding paper wasps
Biological market theory is potentially useful for understanding helping behaviour in animal societies. It predicts that competition for trading partners will affect the value of commodities exchanged. It has gained empirical support in cooperative breeders, where subordinates help dominant breeders in exchange for group membership, but so far without considering one crucial aspect: outside options. We find support for the existence of a biological market in paper wasps, Polistes dominula. We first show that females have a choice of cooperative partners. Second, by manipulating entire subpopulations in the field, we increased the supply of outside options for subordinates, freeing up suitable nesting spots and providing additional nesting partners. We predicted that by intensifying competition for help, our manipulation would force dominants to accept a lower price for group membership. As expected, subordinates reduced their foraging effort following our treatments. We conclude that to accurately predict the amount of help provided, social units cannot be viewed in isolation as has traditionally been done: the surrounding market must also be considered.
Replication package for: "Highways, Market Access, and Spatial Sorting".

The replication package contains data that we are making publicly available.

We use two main datasets: census data (Swiss Federal Statistical Office) and taxpayer data (Swiss Federal Tax Administration).

Census data are aggregated at the municipality level.

Taxpayer data are proprietary. We aggregated these data into four income bins for each municipality. There are fewer than 5 observations in one of these income bins for a bit less than a third of tax data units (municipality-year) and the Swiss Federal Tax Administration asked us to code these bins as “missing” in the dataset we are making publicly available. Hence, the full dataset we are using and the dataset we are making publicly available differ slightly.

The ReadMe file includes an Appendix with all Tables and Figures of the paper produced with the restricted, publicly available data.

Causal coupling between European and UK markets triggered by announcements of monetary policy decisions

We investigate high-frequency reactions in the Eurozone stock market and the UK stock market during the time period surrounding the European Central Bank (ECB) and the Bank of England (BoE)'s interest rate decisions assessing how these two markets react and co-move influencing each other.

The effects are quantified by measuring linear and non-linear transfer entropy combined with a Bivariate Empirical Mode Decomposition (BEMD) from a dataset of 1-minute prices for the Euro Stoxx 50 and the FTSE 100 stock indices.

We uncover that central banks' interest rate decisions induce an upsurge in intraday volatility that is more pronounced on ECB announcement days and there is a significant information flow between the markets with prevalent direction going from the market where the announcement is made towards the other.
