DESIGN, SYNTHESIS AND STUDY OF BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF PEPTIDES WITH NEUROPROTECTIVE PROPERTIES
<p>The main purpose of this project is to search for novel compounds that will protect neurons against oxidative stress (6-hydroxydopamine, 6-OHDA) and glucocorticoids (corticosterone, CORT) in a human neuroblastoma cell line (SH-SY5Y) and elucidate the mechanism by which attenuated the physiological changes induced by these neurotoxins. We will explore whether this protective role of tested compounds will be involved also in the regulation of apoptosis, maintaining oxidoreductive balance, and stabilization of mitochondrial membrane potential. Furthermore, the involvement of the BDNF/TrkB-ERK-CREB/mTOR signalling pathway in neuronal survival will be examined.</p>
Solution-Based Synthesis of Oxide-Free MoS2 Film: Exploring Interface Mechanisms
<p>We present a novel method for synthesizing oxidation-free MoS2 films, focusing on interface mechanisms. By utilizing a sulfurization-free solution process and single-step annealing, we fabricate films on Si3N4 surfaces with improved uniformity, exhibiting surface roughness below 0.5 nm and a 4 nm thickness at a precursor concentration of 30 mM, annealed between 700 and 800ºC. Characterization reveals a hexagonal lattice structure with crystallographic orientations of (1 1 0 0) and (1 2 1 0), featuring lattice spacings of 0.27 nm and 0.16 nm, respectively. XPS analysis on SiO2 substrates shows migration of oxygen species, evidenced by a Si 2p spectrum shift to binding energies between 102.6 eV and 102.8 eV. MoS2 films on Si3N4 exhibit a complex Si 2p peak evolution between 100.9 eV and 101.8 eV, providing insights into oxide-free MoS2 film synthesis for advanced electronic devices. This dataset includes all the raw data associated with this study.</p>
Data for 'From Gel to Crystal: Mechanism of HfO2 and ZrO2 Nanocrystal Synthesis in Benzyl Alcohol'
<p>Data of the figures in the publication "<strong>From Gel to Crystal: Mechanism of HfO<sub>2</sub> and ZrO<sub>2</sub> Nanocrystal Synthesis in Benzyl Alcohol</strong>".</p> <p>The <em>.pxp</em> documents contain the experimental data of the figures in the manuscript and they can be opened/edited with the software IGOR Pro 6.3 or higher.</p> <p>Table of contents:</p> <p><strong>Figure 1.</strong> (A) Microwave-assisted solvothermal synthesis of HfO<sub>2</sub> nanocrystals starting from HfCl<sub>4</sub>·2THF in benzyl alcohol. Synthesis and characterization of fluorescent silica nanoparticles DATASET
<p>The synthesis of fluorescent nanoparticles has many potential applications in bio-imaging for enhanced and safer cell marking. Herein, two Stöber synthesis pathways were explored to incorporate fluorescein and rhodamine B in silica nanoparticles. Their luminescence properties were studied and probed with fluorescence spectroscopy. Mixed results were obtained. Simultaneous synthesis of nanoparticles and addition of fluorescent molecules seems to be the more promising pathway.</p> <p> </p>
