Medieval Tombstone, Montemor-o-Novo
Tombstone in a semi-rectangular shape, made in marble. With a cross with its edges shaped like a T, inside a circle, this tombstone was reutilized at the entrance of a door and because of that has a circular hole in it. This piece is actually in deposit at the Museum of the Convento de S. Domingos, in Montemor-o-Novo. Provenance: This piece comes from the Castle of Montemor-o-Novo. In the medieval village inside the fortified walls there were four parish churches, and cemetaries were built around each one. During the Middle Ages it was customary to mark the graves with tombstones, which were nothing more than slabs of stone placed standing straight, on which were engraved religious symbols and on which sometimes was indicated the profession of the deceased. This set of stelae comes safely from the ancient medieval cemeteries inside the castle, although it is not possible to determine to which church (s) it was associated. Although the scene is not clear it seems to be the representation of the Passion of Christ, when two soldiers arrest Jesus Christ (Central Figure). Medieval annunciation, Museum of Evora
Medieval sculptural relief dated in 1382 depicting the scene of the Annunciation of the Angel Gabriel to the Virgin. The sculpture was part of the funeral chapel of Rui Pires Alfageme in the convent of San Francisco (Simões, 1868: 361-362). In the lower part of the set the inscription is conserved (Barata, 1903: 28): (A) AQ(u)I : IAZ : RUI : PIReZ : ALFAGEME : FRADE : DA : TerCEIRA : ORDEN : E(ra) : IIIc XX (Here lies Rui Pires Alfageme, friar of the Third Order. It was 420). The Angel carries a phylacterium with the inscription AVE: MARIA: GR (atia ...). In the center of the scene is an open book with the following inscription: "ECCE ANCILLA DOMINI FIAT MIHI..." (Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; may it be done to me according to your word). Medieval discoid stelae (Campisábalos, Spain)
Set of funeral steles preserved in the Church of San Bartolomé de Campisábalos (Guadalajara, Spain). They were possibly part of the old medieval church cemetery, serving to identify graves. All are decorated with engravings that represent crosses, stars, and other symbols of Christian iconography. Posiblemente formaron parte del antiguo cementerio medieval de la iglesia, sirviendo para identificar tumbas. Medieval calendar of Campisábalos (Spain)
Medieval calendar preserved in the Church of San Bartolomé de Campisábalos (Guadalajara, Spain). It is one of the few examples of stone calendars existing in Spain. It is carved on the south façade of the Romanesque chapel of San Galindo. The calendar represents, through different scenes, the main activities that were carried out each month of the year, especially agricultural and livestock tasks, but also a joust between knights, a boar hunting scene, and activities typical of the nobility are also represented. We want to publicly thank the collaboration of the Diocesan Delegation of Cultural Heritage of Guadalajara, especially by its cultural delegate Mr. Miguel Ángel Ortega Canales, for the facilities they have given us and for the interest they have shown in the project at all times. An Online Resource of Medieval Liturgical Texts funded by the AHRB from 2000-2003. </p> <p>This file was uploaded to ZENODO on 2021-07-11 by Dr James Cummings to ensure that there are lots of copies of the CURSUS materials around for the future.<br> A copy is also available at https://github.com/jamescummings/cursus and will be deposited in FigShare as well.</p> <p>Original Creators: Dr James Cummings, Professor David Chadd, Dr Richard Lewis<br> License: Creative Commons, Attribution, Non-Commericial 4.0 International<br> </p> <p>It includes the TEI P4 XML based markup (with significant project additions documented in the DTD), transformations XSLT 1.0 Stylesheets and an HTML scrape of the website as of 2020-07-11. It includes additional material to the 12 manuscript editions such as a corpus of antiphons/responds/prayers of the Corpus Antiphonalium Officii, and a vulgate bible. The website stopped having new additions in 2009 at the time of Professor David Chadd's sad death. </p>

In task 2 (Script classification) and task 4 (Date classification), the test set consists of 1000 images in different formats, resolutions and color<br> representation.</p> <p>The present dataset contains the training dataset, both test datasets (tasks 1 and 3, and tasks 2 and 4) and the matrices provided by the competitors. <p>Dataset supporting publication:“Environmental sustainability and Energy Efficiency in Historical Buildings: GeoFit Project Implementation in the Case Study of a medieval fortress in Perugia” (publication available for download: <a href="https://zenodo.org/record/7435513">GEOFIT Zenodo</a>)</p> <p>Italian cities are mainly constituted by buildings constructed until the mid-20th century by pre-industrial construction techniques. A HVAC system for the energy retrofit of historical buildings is evaluated when applied in the case study of Sant’Apollinare. It consists of a ground source heat pump a water tank for thermal energy storage connected to a low-temperature radiant system and air handling unit. The building thermal-energy behavior, typically influenced by thermal inertia in historical buildings, and the novel HVAC system performance interactions are comparatively assessed together with more traditional scenarios. Energy demand decreases by about one third compared to the pre-retrofit situation.</p>
