This drew from IAI&rsquo;s earlier work from 2016 onwards to identify and list Africa-based institutional repositories that focused on identifying repositories based in African university libraries. Our earlier resources are available at </strong><a href="https://www.internationalafricaninstitute.org/repositories"><strong>https://www.internationalafricaninstitute.org/repositories</strong></a><strong>.</strong></p> <p><strong>The interactive map extends the work of the IAI to include organizational, governmental, and international repositories. It also maps the interactions between research repositories. In this dataset, we focus on institutional repositories for scholarly works, as defined by Wikipedia contributors (March 2020).</strong><br> &nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Objective</strong></p> <p>The map of African digital repositories was created as a resource to be used in activities addressing the following aims:</p> <ol> <li> <p>Improving the discoverability of African research and publications&nbsp;</p> </li> <li> <p>Enhance the interoperability of existing and emerging African repositories</p> </li> <li> <p>Identify ways through which digital scholarly search engines can enhance the discoverability of African research</p> </li> </ol> <p>We promote the dissemination of research-based knowledge from African repositories as part of a bigger landscape that also includes online journals, research data repositories, and scholarly publishers to enhance the interconnectivity and accessibility of such repositories across and beyond the African continent and to contribute to a more granular understanding of the continent&rsquo;s scholarly resources.&nbsp;&nbsp;</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p><strong>Data archiving and maintenance</strong></p> <p>The map and corresponding dataset are hosted on the AfricArXiv website under &lsquo;Resources&rsquo; at <a href="https://info.africarxiv.org/african-digital-research-repositories/">https://info.africarxiv.org/african-digital-research-repositories/</a>. <p>One of the core features of hoarding is the difficulty in discarding objects, a behavior maintained by dysfunctional beliefs and negative emotions experienced when people who hoard must discard valuable things. Based on our knowledge, longitudinal studies investigating the impact of leaving important objects on psychological processes have not been implemented.</p> <p>Our study&#39;s principal aim was to explore thoughts and feelings at different times (at baseline, during the week, and at the end of the week) in two groups of subjects, one with high (n=53; 49.1%) and one with low (n=55; 50.9%) hoarding features, when they had to leave a valuable object at the University lab.</p> <p>For the assessment phase, a mixed-method approach was employed, which was based on the administration of self-report questionnaires, ad hoc surveys, and a daily self-monitoring schedule to investigate hoarding, anxiety, depressive, obsessive-compulsive, and emotional processes-related features. Data showed that participants with high hoarding scores: 1) scored higher for anxiety sensitivity, distress tolerance, and emotional dysregulation; 2) referred to more negative emotions in leaving their object; 3) had more intrusive object-related beliefs; 4) experienced a higher frequency of negative emotions during the week. &zwnj; Dysfunctional hoarding beliefs were related with the frequency of thoughts and negative feelings experienced during the week and, with anxiety sensitivity and difficulty in tolerating distress, they also contributed to explain the level of discomfort experienced when participants with higher hoarding scores had to leave their object. These results suggest the importance of emotional processes in the hoarding framework, highlighting that they too are essential to be assessed and treated in clinical settings.</p>

Driving Traffic to Institutional Repositories: How Search Engine Optimization can Increase the Number of Downloads from IR

<p>The success of institutional repositories (IR) is measured in large part by the number of file downloads they sustain. Most traffic to IR is referred by Internet search engines, but referrals are hindered when IR are not properly optimized for search engine harvesting and indexing, leading to low visitation and downloads. This presentation will discuss search engine optimization techniques, especially for Google Scholar, which can be responsible for the majority of referrals that result in IR file downloads. The presentation will also introduce a new web service called RAMP (Repository Analytics &amp; Metrics Portal) that accurately counts file downloads from IR and requires no installation or training.</p>

Policies of educational journals regarding deposit in repositories

<p>Science, as a knowledge-building enterprise, relies heavily on the communication of findings through scientific publications. Collaboration among researchers drives scientific progress, and open access, coupled with technological advancements, brings knowledge closer to society. At the global and national levels, measures are being implemented to promote data sharing, although differences persist between fields of knowledge, such as education, where there is a lack of evidence on sharing practices.</p> <p><br>An analysis of the policies of 60 international education journals regarding data deposition reveals a variety of approaches and levels of specificity While progress has been made, this disparity suggests the need for standardization and clarity. The lack of incentives and specialized resources also hinders information sharing in education. Progress towards transparency and accessibility in educational research is evident, but a greater commitment from the scientific community is required to promote effective data management practices.</p>
