ABS-rich model waste characterisation for different sampling strategies – DSC data
<p>The purpose of this analysis is the development of an efficient sampling protocol for plastic waste streams. </p> <p>A model waste from different polymers was formulated, rich in ABS and containing PS, PP and PE in smaller proportions. Additionally, one bromine containing flame retardant is added to a final concentration of either 500ppm or 50ppm. Different sampling approaches were followed including extrusion and/or cryogenic grinding as a homogenization step. Each approach was assessed via various analytical techniques as to homogenization efficiency. </p> <p>This dataset contains raw DSC data of the model waste from the different sampling approaches. Homocysteine, folic acid, cyanocobalamin, and frailty in older people: findings from the "Invece. Ab" Study
<p><strong>The database includes</strong> the raw data of the article “Homocysteine, Folic Acid, Cyanocobalamin, and Frailty in Older People: Findings From the “Invece. Ab” Study”.</p> <p><strong>Aim of the work</strong> was to verify the association of homocysteine (HOcy), cyanocobalamin (B12), and folic acid (FO) plasma concentrations with frailty and to underline the influence of these biomarkers on frailty incidence in a community dwelling older population, studied longitudinally (2012, 2014 and 2018 waves).</p> <p><strong>The database contains</strong> data obtained by the evaluations of plasma levels of i) HOcy, ii) B12 and iii) FO using chemiluminescent microparticle immunoassay on an Architect 2000 analyzer (Abbott) within 3h of blood collection. Briefly, we found that frail subjects increased from the 2014 wave to the 2018 wave of the study. Moreover, the median concentration of HOcy increased with age only in males and it showed a significant positive correlation with the Frailty Index (FI) at all three waves of the study; no positive correlation was instead reported for B12 and FO. HOcy seems to be a predictor of cumulative incidence of frailty (during the six years of the study), independent of age, sex, and education, although HOcy80 (19.4μmol/l - cutoff for the 80th percentile) showed only a positive trend in this sense. On the contrary HOcy90 (23.3μmol/l - cutoff for the 90th percentile) significantly influenced the cumulative incidence of frailty. B12 and FO showed no relationship with the cumulative incidence of frailty. Finally, subjects with plasma HOcy concentrations in the top quintile (HOcy80) had five fewer frailty-free months; this finding was independent of age, sex, and education. A comparable frailty-free survival time, was found for plasma HOcy concentrations in the top decile (HOcy90).</p> <p><strong>To conclude</strong>, high plasma concentrations of HOcy, could be a factor that increases the likelihood of becoming frail and becoming frail sooner; these results showed a clear association with frailty. Moreover, the role of B12 and FO plasma concentrations was found to be marginal.</p>
Metataxonomics 16S rDNA of maize bulk and rhizospheric soil samples with seed bacterization with Azospirillum brasilense Ab-V5 in a dilution-to-extinction of native microbial diversity
<p><strong>The beneficial plant-microbes association has been widely explored with the purpose of understanding the mechanisms involved in this interaction, in order to develop bioinoculants for agriculture aiming at sustainability and reduction of chemical inputs use. Plant growth promoting bacteria (PGPBs) have been reported as an interesting alternative to mineral fertilizers for a range of crops. The genus Azospirillum has shown potential in plant growth promotion for maize. However, the lack of holistic comprehension about PGPBs-plant-native soil microbiota can lead to inconsistency of results in field conditions. Recent ecological theories revealed that plant microbiomes are organized as microbial hubs with keystone species and helpers. The objective of this work is to characterize the microbial community associated with a commercial maize genotype (30A37PW) under influence of the potential keystone PGPB A. brasilense Ab-v5 to support the original development of a synthetic minimum microbiome including this strain as keystone for plant growth promotion. Aiming to understand the PGPB-plant-microbiome system, we conducted a greenhouse experiment in which the synergistic effect of Ab-V5 and soil native microbial community were evaluated through soil and rhizosphere metataxonomics, metagenomics and plant phenomics. Our results revealed that maize seed bacterization with the PGPB Ab-V5 promotes plant growth. This effect is boosted by the interaction with specific microbial groups present in the soil native community. The strain Ab-V5 persists in the maize rhizosphere until 25 days after sowing. In order to understand which microbial groups are important during the interaction Ab-V5-plant-native soil microbial community, 16S rDNA metataxonomics and metagenomics analysis will be conducted in maize soil and rhizosphere samples. This unprecedented omics approach for the holistic view of the complex system composed by inoculant-plant-microbiota and data integration will allow the development of new strategies for optimization of plant biostimulants recommendation with enhanced efficiency for establishment in the field. </strong></p>

<p>These supplementary data contain input and output files of EMTO density-functional theory (DFT) calculations and IPython/Jupyter notebooks that were used in analyzing the data for the paper "Challenges in automated high-throughput ab initio thermodynamics of magnetic high-entropy alloys".</p> <p>The data are organized as follows:</p> <ul> <li><em>alloy_discovery</em> folder contains the analysis notebooks and the processed EMTO DFT output data in a h5 database. <ul> <li>An installation of Python and Jupyter notebooks is required to run the notebooks. <p><span>Die hier archivierten Daten umfassen insgesamt zwölf Annotationsrunden (sowie die zugehörigen Richtlinien), in denen der ästhetische Wortschatz des mittelhochdeutschen Sangspruchs im Rahmen des Teilprojekts B03 „Semantiken des Ästhetischen in der deutschsprachigen Literatur des Mittelalters“ des SFB 1391 „Andere Ästhetik“ kollaborativ annotiert wurde. Ergänzt werden sie durch eine Tabelle, die die im annotierten Textkorpus enthaltenen Sangspruch-Strophen aufschlüsselt. Eine weitere Tabelle enthält die nach der zwölften Annotationsrunde exportierten Daten.</span></p> <p><span> </span></p> <p><span>The data archived here comprise a total of twelve annotation rounds (as well as the associated guidelines) in which the aesthetic vocabulary of the Middle High German sangspruch was collaboratively annotated as part of subproject B03 "Semantics of the Aesthetic in German-Language Literature of the Middle Ages" of SFB 1391 "Other Aesthetics". They are supplemented by a table that breaks down the sangspruch verses contained in the annotated text corpus. A further table contains the data exported after the twelfth annotation round.</span></p>

<p>The data archived here comprise a total of six annotation rounds (as well as the associated guidelines), in which all words from the word family of "süeze" in a representative corpus of Middle High German texts were annotated with regard to their domains of application or use and their aesthetic semantization. The annotations were done collaboratively within the framework of the subproject B03 "Semantics of the Aesthetic in German Literature of the Middle Ages" of the SFB 1391 "Other Aesthetics".</p> <p>Die hier archivierten Daten umfassen insgesamt sechs Annotationsrunden (sowie die zugehörigen Richtlinien), in denen alle Wörter aus der Wortfamilie der <em>süeze</em> in einem repräsentativen Korpus mittelhochdeutscher Texte hinsichtlich ihrer Geltungsbereiche bzw. Gebrauchsdomänen und ihrer ästhetischen Semantisierung annotiert wurden. THEMIS Ground All Sky Imager at Athabasca (54.71 deg GLat, 246.69 deg GLong): 32 x 32 pixel thumbnails for full ASI images. The ASI stations monitor a 170 degree field of view imaging the auroral oval at kilometer resolution. The ASI is comprised of a fisheye lens and CCD in a stainless steel enclosure topped with a transparent acrylic dome. The CCD has a resolution of 256 x 256 pixels. Exposure control ranges from 5 s to 1 ms although the typical data rate is one image every 3 seconds. Silicone heaters keep the instrument within the nominal temperature range. During daylight hours sun shades deploy to protect the CCD.
