Locations of black bear (Ursus americanus) reproduction in Nevada from camera-trap data
<p>Understanding factors creating species range boundaries is a fundamental goal of ecology and biogeography. American black bears recolonized the western Great Basin from the Sierra Nevada in the late 1900s but this expansion has not proceeded further into the Great Basin despite the presence of suitable habitat. We deployed 100 camera traps across the occupied range of black bears in the U.S. state of Nevada and tracked bear detections across 3 years. A scent lure was applied in camera trap viewsheds to increase bear detections. We classified detections of bear cubs separately from detections of only adult bears, to serve as an indicator of black bear reproduction occurring at sites. Data are provided in the format necessary for a analysis with multistate occupancy model. Analysis of these data revealed low incidence of reproduction at the periphery of black bear range in the western Great Basin, which likely contributes to range boundary formation.</p>
Selection of summer feeding sites and food resources by female migratory caribou (Rangifer tarandus) determined using camera collars
<p>Female migratory caribou (Rangifer tarandus) depend on the availability of summer habitat resources to meet the needs associated with lactation and the accumulation of fat reserves to survive when resources are less abundant. Because of the large scales at which habitat and resource data are usually available, information on how female migratory caribou select habitat and resources at fine scales in the wild is lacking. To document selection of summer feeding sites, we equipped 52 female caribou with camera collars from 2016 to 2018. We collected a total of 65,150 10-sec videos between June 1st and September 1st for three years with contrasted spring phenology. We determined the selection at the feeding site scale (3rd scale of Johnson) and food item scale (4th scale of Johnson) using resource selection probability functions. This data base contains the data of the behaviors observed, habitat used as feeding site, habitat unused has habitat, consumed and unconsumed resources, insect presence and other variables.</p>

Zorki 4 Camera with Multi Viewfinder
The Zorki 4 was possibly the most popular of all Zorki cameras, with 1,715,677 cameras made by the KMZ factory in Krasnogorsk, Russia. The Zorki 4 was also the first of the Zorki cameras to be exported in large numbers to the west. It is a fully manual camera, and does not have a lightmeter. Model of 35mm Special Effects cine camera by Alfred Darling & Sons, Ltd, Brighton 1899. This camera was made by one of the early pioneers of cinema based in Brighton & Hove. This model captures the shape of the camera, but not the texture, which is made from wood with a metal hand-crank. The model was created from an original object in the Film & Media collections of Brighton & Hove. Mieczysław Karłowicz's camera
The collection of the Art Department at the Tatra Museum in Zakopane includes two cameras belonging to Mieczysław Karłowicz – an outstanding composer, unsurpassed mountaineer, skier and photographer. The composer purchased the presented object in 1909 after the success of his symphonic poem Odwieczne pieśni (Eternal songs) at the Warsaw Philharmonic. The composer's new photographic equipment is a so-called travel camera for 13x18 cm film. The camera weighed less than 2 kilograms, and the bellows with the front standard and the lens were supported on two rails and thus, when folded, the whole set did not take up a lot of space (23 x 21.5 x 7 cm).
