Are lifestyle pattern changes associated to poor subjective sleep quality?: a cross-sectional study by gender among the general Japanese population underwent specified medical checkups in 2014 and 2015.

<p>Objectives: Subjective sleep quality (SSQ) is defined by the satisfaction of one's overall sleep experience, and is composed of sleep depth and restfulness. It has not been clarified how poor SSQ is associated to changes in lifestyles. The purpose is to reveal the association of lifestyle pattern changes and poor SSQ.</p> <p>Design: A cross-sectional study.</p> <p>Setting: The data on basic attributes, SSQ, and lifestyle such as presence/absence of smoking, exercise, physical activity, supper time close to bedtime, drinking habits, and alcohol intake amount per day were obtained from database and questionnaire of specified medical checkups in FY 2014 and 2015 in Japan. The analysis was conducted in 2019.</p> <p>Participants: The subjects comprised 49,483 residents (26,087 males and 23,396 females), aged 40 to 74 years who had undergone an annual specified medical checkup from 2014 to 2015 in Fukushima Prefecture, Japan.</p> <p>Outcome measure: Status of SSQ in 2015 was assessed using a question asking whether or not the subjects usually got enough sleep. Poor SSQ in 2015 and lifestyle pattern changes in 2014-2015 were compared between those who were in healthy status both in 2014 and 2015 (referent) and non-referent, using binary logistic regression analysis.</p> <p>Results: Unhealthy lifestyle pattern for 2014-2015 was significantly associated to poor SSQ in 2015: "absent to absent" in exercise for males (Odds ratio [OR] = 1.472; 95% confidence interval [CI] = 1.316, 1.647) and females (OR = 1.428; 95%CI = 1.285, 1.587), physical activity for males (OR = 1.420; 95%CI = 1.270, 1.588) and females (OR = 1.471; 95%CI = 1.322, 1.638), and "present to present" in supper time for males (OR = 1.149; 95%CI = 1.020, 1.294) and females (OR = 1.288; 95%CI = 1.102, 1.505).</p> <p>Conclusions: Health care workers may be able to contribute to the improvement of SSQ, focusing on changeable lifestyles.</p>

Uganda Malaise trapping 2014–2015 Rhyssinae taxonomy data

<p>This dataset contains the data and scripts of <a href="https://doi.org/10.3897/zookeys.878.37845">our paper</a> on the taxonomy of African Rhyssinae. We collected rhyssines by Malaise trapping and hand-netting in tropical forest in Kibale National Park 2014&ndash;2015. The dataset contains data on the 456 rhyssines we caught and 13 other African specimens we examined, a table of diagnostic characters, and scripts for generating an identification key and automating the writing of species descriptions. It also contains images used to take measurements of the rhyssines.</p> <p><br> The specimen data (<em>1 Specimen data</em>) and table of diagnostic characters (<em>Uganda Rhyssinae diagnosis characters.csv</em>) will usually be of the greatest interest.</p>

Picoplankton and Bacteria Abundance analyzed with flow cytometry (FCM) collected aboard student cruises, SKrillEx I (2014), SKrillEx II (2015), and Falkor (2013).

Picophytoplankton populations and non-pigmented prokaryotes are sampled within the California Current Ecosystem (CCE) on SKrillEx I and II, and across the North Pacific on the Falkor, for abundances at various depths. Seawater is collected from Niskin bottles and cells are fixed in the field with paraformaldehyde, and stained with a DNA-specific dye back in the laboratory. The cells are enumerated by an Altra flow cytometer (with a syringe pump for volumetric sample delivery) simultaneously with argon ion lasers, to distinguish three major populations of photoautotrophs (Prochlorococcus, Synechococcus, and pico-eukaryotes) and the assemblage of heterotrophic prokaryotes collectively referred to as H-Bact. These three student cruises, SKrillEx I, SKrillEx II, and Falkor, were distinct cruises and this dataset is complete.

Once back on land, the frozen transparent polycarbonate (PC) filters were filtered on an all-glass apparatus and then imaged with modified epifluorescence microscopy techniques for microplastic particles. All microplastic particles were analyzed for plastic shape, length, surface area, and fluorescence.

Ingested Nano- and Microplastic Particle Lengths and Surface Areas, dissected from salp guts, analyzed with Epifluorescence microscopy, collected aboard multiple cruises SEAPLEX in 2009, SKrillEx I in 2014, and SKrillEx II in 2015.

Salps were collected on SKrillEx I and II during nightly transects in 202-μm mesh bongo tows, towed to approximately 200 m depth, and samples were preserved in 5% formaldehyde buffered with sodium tetraborate. We also used zooplankton samples collected on the August 2009 SEAPLEX cruise, where samples were collected using a manta net, 333-μm mesh, towed for 15 minutes at the surface, with samples preserved in 5% formaldehyde buffered with sodium tetraborate. Salps were identified to species, life history phase (oozooid or blastozooid), and measured for zooid length. The length of the stomach was measured, noted for degree of fullness, and dissected from each salp. Dissected salp stomachs were cut in half and placed in 15 mL of Milli-Q water for at least 24 hours to soften and release gut contents. The contents were then vacuum-filtered onto 5-μm pore polycarbonate filters with an additional 70 mL of Milli-Q water to aid in filtration. Those filters were analyzed with modified epifluoresecence microscopy techniques for microplastic particles. All microplastic particles were analyzed for plastic shape, length, surface area, and fluorescence.

Hyperspectral Imagery from AVIRIS-NG for Sites in ID and CA, USA, 2014 and 2015

This dataset provides surface reflectance measured by the Airborne Visible/Infrared Imaging Spectrometer-Next Generation (AVIRIS-NG) instrument during flights over research sites in Idaho and California in 2014 and 2015. AVIRIS-NG measures reflected radiance at 5-nanometer (nm) intervals in the visible to shortwave infrared spectral range between 380 and 2510 nm. Measurements are radiometrically and geometrically calibrated and provided at 1-meter spatial resolution. The data include 72 flight lines covering long-term research sites in the Reynolds Creek Experimental Watershed in southwestern Idaho and Hollister in southeastern Idaho. Several flight lines from a site in the Inyo National Forest near Big Pine, California are included.

<p>This ".zip" file contains phase-velocity spectra of atmospheric gravity waves (AGWs) with horizontal wavelength 0 - 100 km and time period 5 - 60 minutes for January 2014, 2015, and 2016.
