EU- Level Survey Data on Potential of Bioenergy Market Uptake - BECoop project
<p><strong><em>Activity Description:</em></strong><br> In this initiative, a quantivie online survey was distributed via Social Media, email, and other communication channels (i.e. WhatsApp), with the aim of accumulating 500 responses. The survey was specifically directed towards RESCoop members, authorities, and policymakers across Europe.</p> <p><strong><em>Purpose of the Surveys:</em></strong></p> <p>A comprehensive survey was crafted with the primary purpose of gathering insights conserning mainly the potential expansion of the bioenergy market within RESCoops. </p> <p>To ensure effective communication with the target audience, the questionnaire was initially developed in English, and the project partners collaborated to translate it into the six languages of the consortium: French, German, Greek, Italian, Polish, and Spanish. This multilingual approach played a significant role in facilitating engagement.</p> <p>The translated survey was then administered online through a GDPR-compliant EU survey platform. Led by the pilot teams the survey's dissemination efforts acitively engaged the target audience, both within their respective regions and other european countries. The survey promotion phase spanned from February to May 2021, leveraging the extensive networks, social media accounts, websites, and communication channels of the BECoop project. The survey remained open until the end of the project.</p> <p>This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement no. 952930.</p>

<p>The European Copernicus Coastal Flood Awareness System (ECFAS) project aimed at contributing to the evolution of the Copernicus Emergency Management Service (https://emergency.copernicus.eu/) by demonstrating the technical and operational feasibility of a European Coastal Flood Awareness System. Specifically, ECFAS provides a much-needed solution to bolster coastal resilience to climate risk and reduce population and infrastructure exposure by monitoring and supporting disaster preparedness, two factors that are fundamental to damage prevention and recovery if a storm hits.</p> <p>The ECFAS Proof-of-Concept development ran from January 2021 to December 2022. The coast is divided into geographic regions embracing similar oceanographic conditions and subsequently into coastal sectors. The coastal sectors can be identified by its region index RXXX and its own index CSYYY. For each coastal sector, flood models were developed using the LISFLOOD-FP model with a grid resolution of 100 m. The flood model configuration follows the recommendation highlighted in ECFAS Deliverable D5.2 - Validated LISFLOOD-FP model for coastal areas. The flood and velocity maps are associated with synthetic storms that are characterised by a specific extreme water level and storm duration. These parameters were derived from Extreme Value Analyses performed on the ECFAS ANYEU-SSL hindcast (ECFAS D4.1 - Report on the calibration and validation of hindcasts and forecasts of TWL and D4.3 - Report on the identification of local thresholds of TWL for triggering coastal flooding). Five extreme water level values for each coastal point of the hindcast, and three durations (12, 24 and 36 h) were identified leading to 15 scenarios for each coastal sector. The flood and velocity maps are gathered into a NetCDF file for each coastal sector indicating the scenario parameters as attributes. EU-Level Crowdsourced Survey Data on Biomass Communities – BECoop project
<p><strong><em>Activity Description:</em></strong></p> <p>In this initiative, an English survey was strategically linked to a crowdsourcing campaign with the goal of garnering 5,000 responses from a diverse range of stakeholders and the general public across the European Union (EU).</p> <p> </p> <p><strong><em>Purpose of the Survey:</em></strong></p> <p>A comprehensive questionnaire was developed with the primary aim of identifying the perceptions, needs, barriers, and misconceptions affecting the market adoption of community bioenergy at the EU level. The survey sought to gain a nuanced understanding of stakeholders' and the general public's perspectives, ultimately contributing to informed decision-making and policy formulation in this vital domain.</p> <p>Leveraging platforms such as Clickworker, this approach facilitated the engagement of an independent global workforce to address defined tasks, offering swift access to data from a broad spectrum of participants encompassing various demographics, backgrounds, and interests.</p> <p>The data collection phase was executed between mid-April and June 2021, spanned across multiple waves. This approach was aimed at meticulously monitoring responses and ensuring the integrity and quality of the collected data.</p> <p> </p> <p>This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under Grant Agreement no. 952930.</p>
Overcoming Digital Divide Between Europe and Southeast Asia, EU Project, References Dataset Part1
<p>This reference list contains publications and data sets concerning the state of digitalization and digital divide in Europe and Southeast Asia including factors affecting it. Research was carried out</p><p>The creation of this list is the result of a review of literature and databases as part of the implementation by the Krakow University of Economics of tasks resulting from Task Package no. 1 included in the ODDEA project</p><p>In the "ODDEA" project some Work Packages were prepared. In Work Package no 1, which is called "<i>The state-of-the-art analysis of the underlying factors of the digital divide within the EU and within the Southeast Asia</i>", the main objective was defined as: "To provide an overview of the literature and existing indicators on the state of digitalization and digital divide in Europe and Southeast Asia including factors affecting it". </p><p>This task is based on the literature review and on the qualitative analysis of recently published indicators (e.g., EIBIS, 2021, CIS of Eurostat, World Bank enterprise dataset) and other relevant country based surveys. This analysis will enable to identify possible economic, social, political, and technological factors that may explain the digital divide in the EU and in the Southeast Asia and formulate relevant hypotheses for individual EU countries, groups/clusters, the European Union as a whole and the Southeast Asia and project countries in that region. A deeper analysis of these clusters will also help to identify any idiosyncratic features that these countries share regarding the use of digital technologies, which will be used in the empirical study implemented within subsequent WPs. </p><p>Adopting the assumptions and objective presented in WP1, appropriate identification was made in the scope of the Literature Review in the relation to the Polish economy as a member of the European Union (EU). </p><p>Because two partners in ODDEA were from Poland – it means AGH University and Krakow University of Economics, the division of the collected bibliography into specific databases between these research centres was developed. To produce the Flood Catalogue, the coast was divided into geographic regions embracing similar oceanographic conditions, and subsequently into coastal sectors. The coastal sectors can be identified by its region index RXXX and its own index CSYYY. Impacts associated to the flood maps were calculated following the approach described in the technical document of the ECFAS Deliverable 5.3 Algorithms for Impact Assessment (ECFAS Impact Tool; Duo et al., 2021).
