Excel data coding file for child welfare reform scoping review
<p><span>While there have been ongoing calls to reform child welfare so that it better meets children's and families' needs,</span> <span>to date there have been no comprehensive summaries of child welfare reform strategies. For this systematic scoping review, we summarized authors' recommendations for improving child welfare. We conducted a systematic search (2010 to 2021) and included published reviews that addressed authors' recommendations for improving child welfare for children, youth, and families coming into contact with child welfare in high-income countries. A total of 4,758 records was identified by the systematic search, 685 full-text articles were screened for eligibility, and 433 reviews were found to be eligible for this scoping review. Reviews were theoretically divided, with some review authors arguing for reform efforts at the macro level (e.g., addressing poverty) and others arguing for reform efforts at the practice level (e.g., implementing evidence-based parenting programs). Reform efforts across socioecological levels were summarized in this scoping review. An important next step is to formulate what policy solutions are likely to lead to the greatest improvement in safety and well-being for children and families involved in child welfare. </span></p>
Excel mapping tool for 2022 avian influenza data reporting
<p>Data collection is an important task of the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) and a fundamental component of risk assessment (Articles 22 and 23 of Regulation (EC) No 178/2002). EFSA receives a large volume of data from Member States (MSs) that is used in support of its risk assessment mission.</p> <p>Council Directive 2005/94/EC and Commission Decision 2010/367/EU lay down the guidelines for monitoring and reporting avian influenza surveillance data on poultry and wild birds by European Union (EU) MSs. EFSA has been assigned the task of collating, validating, analysing, and summarising in an annual report the results from the avian influenza surveillance programmes in poultry and wild birds. For the reporting of data, EFSA provides a Data Collection Framework that allows data providers to submit data in eXtensible Markup Language (XML) format through a web interface or a web service. Here, a data model describing the format, and the content requested when submitting data through the DCF, is provided.</p> <p>The data model supports the reporting of laboratory testing results for avian influenza in both wild birds, and poultry. The use of this reporting standard ensures that reported results are comparable between reporting countries. Data reported in this format will be used to generate epidemiological updates on the avian influenza surveillance testing carry out in Europe, and to provide scientific advice to the European Commission.</p>
Excel mapping tools for 2022 zoonoses data reporting
<p>The main objective of the mapping tools is to provide a simple and useable platform for Member states and other reporting countries to map their country-specific standard terminology to that used by EFSA and to enable the production of an XML file for the submission of sample or aggregated-based zoonoses monitoring data via the Data Collection Framework (DCF).</p> <p>The catalogues and the specific hierarchy of each data model (AMR, ESBL, PRV, FBO, AP, DS and SSD2 for <em>Echinococcus multilocularis</em>) are already inserted into each of the specific mapping tool. Specific Excel mapping tools corresponding to each of the five data models are available.</p> <p>Dynamic or manual version of the tool can be chosen for the first six data models.</p> <p>The Emulti_SSD2_tool can be used to report sample-based results of <em>Echinococcus multilocularis</em> under the Commission Delegated Regulation (EU) 2018/772.</p>

<p>This is the dataset used in the scientific article "Excellent test-retest reliability of the six-minute walking distance measured by FeetMe insoles during tests conducted with a one-week interval by completely unassisted healthy adults in their homes." Participants (n=21) performed two 6MWTs at home while wearing the FeetMe<sup> </sup>insoles, and two 6MWTs at hospital while wearing FeetMe<sup> </sup>insoles and being assessed by a rater. All assessments were performed with a one-week interval between tests, no assistance was provided to the participants at home. Each column represents the 6MWD for each participant at one of the visits and using one of the measurement methods. Columns' headers provide clear description of the corresponding condition.</p>

Data from: C,N-codoped MoSi2 ceramic with excellent heat resistance for microwaves absorption application
Microwaves absorption (MA) materials with high heat resistance have a wide range of applications in many fields. In this work, a C,N-codoped-MoSi2 ceramic was prepared via a facile solid phase reaction method and its MA properties was investigated. On the one hand, the results indicate that this ceramic possesses excellent heat resistance and the weight of the MoSi2 is almost constant when the temperature is lower than 800 ℃. On the other hand, this ceramic shows good MA performance when the filler loading ratio increases to 30 vol%, the value of reflection loss(RL) could reach to -17.70 dB at 7.44 GHz with the thickness of 2.0 mm and the effective EM absorption bandwidth (RL below -10 dB) could reach to 1.88 GHz (9.28 GHz–11.16 GHz) with the thickness of 1.5 mm. Multi-polarization resonance loss is considered as the predominant attention mechanism on the MA performance of this MoSi2 ceramic. This research provides a new idea for understanding resonance mechanism and greatly expands the application scope of MoSi2 ceramic in MA area.
Open Access to Excellent Science - the European Research Council's approach (video recording)
<p>Video recording of a presentation given at the event 'Open Access: Authors, publishers, investors and institutions for the dissemination of the scientific research's results' that was organised by the Library of EPFL in the context of the Open Access Week 2013. The video includes the introduction of the presentation by EPFL Director, Dr. Isabelle Kratz.</p> <p><strong>Abstract</strong>: We will give an overview of the ERC's approach to Open Access, and how it is reflected in the rules governing the ERC grants under the current 7th EU Research Framework Programme. We will explain how the ERC supports its grantees in providing open access to their research results, and shed some light on the changes to be expected for the new EU Research Framework Programme, Horizon 2020, which will start on 1 January 2014. In doing so, we will also take a look at the different roles of the ERC and the European Commission concerning the promotion of Open Access, and explain some of the differences in approach.</p>
