Fore wings of honey bees (Apis mellifera) from Jammu and Kashmir, India

<p>The dataset consists of 350 honey bee (<i>Apis mellifera</i>) fore wing images, which represent 175 workers and 10 locations in Jammu and Kashmir, India. The wing images are compressed in IN-wing-images.zip. Raw coordinates of 19 landmarks marked on the wings are in file IN-raw-coordinates.csv. Additional data, including geographic coordinates and resolution, is saved in the file IN-data.csv.</p>

ASSESSMENT OF THE FUNCTIONING OF ASHAS UNDER NRHM IN THE BLOCK MENDHAR DISTRICT POONCH JAMMU AND KASHMIR

<p>The study was conducted to knowing ASHA functioning status regarding maternal&nbsp;<br>and child health and evaluate impact on JSY. The study was conducted in the Block Mendhar&nbsp;<br>District Poonch Jammu and Kashmir using purposive sampling technique in 2 months&nbsp;<br>duration. ASHAs were included who had been active in the field for more than six month&nbsp;<br>since the date of survey started. Women were included in the study who has given a live birth&nbsp;<br>within last 6 month&rsquo;s &amp; whose child is still alive who were on breastfeeding. In our study&nbsp;<br>antenatal registration by ASHAs were found only 43% while all the beneficiaries were helped&nbsp;<br>in registration for JSY scheme, explained about transport assistance benefits &amp; helped them&nbsp;<br>to reach hospital. Eighty eight(88%) percent ASHAs were present with them at the time of&nbsp;<br>delivery and 93 percent beneficiaries ASHA helped them in getting JSY benefits. However in&nbsp;<br>case of postnatal checkups only 33.33% ASHAs were found active. Level of knowledge and&nbsp;<br>work performance was found in ASHAs respectively 50.85(&plusmn;20.97) and 57.58(&plusmn;18.90), that&nbsp;<br>was statistically significant (&lt;0.01). Observation of our study point towards better maternal&nbsp;<br>and child health care in the area, which can be attributed to institutional delivery of pregnant&nbsp;<br>mother related with significant monetary incentives.</p>

Traditional use of medicinal plants among the indigenous communities in district Baramulla, Jammu and Kashmir, India

<p>A number of indigenous communities reside in the Himalayan belt of Baramulla, where the lack of modern health care facilities represents crucial problems to their survival. Therefore the current study was aimed at documenting traditional knowledge of medicinal plants in the region. Ethnomedicinal data was collected during 2018-2020. Fifty-one informants were interviewed in seventeen villages via questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and group discussions. Data was also analyzed by various ethnobotanical indices. A total of 85 plant species distributed in 40 families were documented. Asteraceae was reported to be the dominant plant family and leaves were the most frequently utilized plant part. Musculoskeletal disorder scored the highest ICF value (0.87). Colchicum luteum (0.61), Verbascum thapsus (0.59) reported highest UV and Viola odorata, Ajuga integrifolia had the highest FL of 100%. Of the documented species about 18 plants (21%) were reported for the first time to be used in the area. Medicinal plants still play an important role in the healthcare sector and the folk knowledge attached to them is remarkable in the region, although declining among the younger generations. Medicinal plants reported for the first time, needs to be studied pharmacologically.</p>
