Data from: Cough reflex sensitivity and urge-to-cough deterioration in dementia with Lewy bodies
Cough, an important respiratory symptom, predominantly involves the brainstem, and the urge-to-cough is modulated by the cerebral cortex. Lewy body disease is associated with decreased cough reflex sensitivity and central respiratory chemosensitivity. Additionally, the insula, associated with the urge-to-cough, shows decreased activation and atrophy in dementia with Lewy bodies (DLB). We investigated the relationships between cognition and cough reflex and the urge-to-cough and compared the differences in responses of patients with DLB and other dementia subtypes. We conducted a cross-sectional study within a geriatric ward of a university hospital involving elderly patients diagnosed with Alzheimer's disease (AD), DLB, or non-dementia (controls). The cough reflex sensitivities were estimated based on the lowest concentrations of inhaled citric acid that could induce ≥2 coughs (C2) or ≥5 coughs (C5). Subjects were asked to rate the urge-to-cough based on the threshold concentrations (Cu) using the modified Borg scale. C2, C5, and Cu were negatively correlated with cognitive function in female participants but not in males (P<0.01). The cough reflex sensitivity expressed as C2 and C5 were significantly higher in the DLB group than in the AD and control groups (P<0.01 adjusted for gender). The urge-to-cough threshold expressed as Cu was also significantly higher, while the urge-to-cough log–log slope was less responsive with the increasing cough-evoking stimuli in the DLB group than that in the other groups. The cough reflex sensitivity and perceived urge-to-cough deteriorated in the DLB group than in the other groups. This result might be valuable in treating patients with DLB.

Lewis Powell Grave Marker
Lewis Powell (1844-1865) was one of the conspirators attached to the assasination of Abraham Lincoln at the conclusion of the Civil War. On April 14th, 1865, the same date of Lincoln's assasination, Powell attempted to murder Secretary of State William Seward. He was unsucessful and fled, only to be arrested three days later. Powell was executed at the Washington Arsenal alongside several other conspirators and their bodies were burid on-site to deter grave robbing. Powell's remains were moved several times due to subsequent construction and, later, their return to the family. At some point, his skull was taken and given first to the Army Medical Museum and later the Smithsonian. Eventually, Powell's skull was identified and reburied next to his family in Geneva Cemetery in 1991 in the small town of Geneva, Florida. Source: Objaverse 1.0 / Sketchfab

Decomposition, topology, properties, and graphs of 14 individuals of Cenostigma pyramidale (Tul.) Gagnon & G.P. Lewis, a Caatinga tree species
<p>Data were obtained from the observation of 14 individuals of the tree species <em>Cenostigma pyramidale</em> (Tul.) Gagnon & G.P. Lewis growing in a semiarid area in Caatinga vegetation under natural conditions in the Northeast of Brazil in Paraiba State, located at the Fazenda Pocinho (7º29'46" S, 35º58'12" W) in the municipality of Barra de Santana. The woody crowns were drawn (skeletonized) in the 2-D format as rooted trees resulting in networks with nodes and connectors named woody crown networks. The data of decomposition, topology, and some properties are captured by skeletonized crowns following the methodology described by Prado et al. (2020, <a href="https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jtbi.2020.110318">https://doi.org/10.1016/j.jtbi.2020.110318</a>).</p>

Data and code for LMMA adoption and spread in Madagascar 2018 Lewis-Brown et al
<p>In 2018 questionnaires were undertaken in four villages in NE Madagascar to assess the drivers and barriers to adoption of Locally Managed Marine Areas (LMMAs) through a Best-Worst Scaling (BWS) choice experiment. The data deposited also includes satisfaction with LMMAs to evaluate likely spread. </p> <p>Full anonymised data sets are provided from the surveys undertaken, with code used for conditional logit models run in Stata.</p> <p>The survey used is also provided, along with the consent form and participant information.</p> <p> </p>
